Yeah, you should definitely see it. That last scene made me want to stand up, scream Hooah!!, and start fighting those damn persians myself. I have never been so moved or inspired by a movie. The film truly is something else. The entire time I was watching it, I felt like I was standing there on the battlefield, not sitting in a chair watching a movie. It was crazyiness!!

Star Wars Prequels/Original Trilogy: The Complete Scores (Released)
Time
The problem with Ben Burtt is that he believes sound effects can instill emotions in a person more than music. Music is a serious emotional stimulate, but he refuses to believe it. Look at him in the "In a Minute" doco ( or what ever it is called ) on the ROTS DVD, he gets in an argument with one of the sound mixers. All because he thought that when Obi-Wan and Anikan are fighting and that big metal arm thing they are on plummets into the lava river below, he thought that you should here more sound effects than John Wlliam's score. He actually pouted when he didn't get it exactly like he wanted it. He almost made that scene worse than it was. I wonder how many other times he ruined scenes emotionally that could have been fantastic had he not tracked music over John William's score?

As far as other sets, I'm currently working on ROTJ. I've hunted down everything from original LP rips to video game usage... I'm trying to compile the best sounding release and most complete one yet.

It is already about 40 minutes long and I'm not even to Sail Barge Assault yet.
Will let you know.

Regarding the Episode 2 soundtrack, I feel sorry for you. That movies soundtrack was a tracked disaster, and I bet finding stuff for it is near impossible.

Battle for Naboo Re-Edit (Completed)

GoodMusician, you are allowed to set up a PIF (pay it forward) chain or a torrent you just can't directly link to a torrent on this website. Also, you can talk about this and distribute your four disc set, because it is a preservation effort and that and fan edits is what this site is all about. Once again no pressure, but I hope you will consider uploading this somewhere because all your star wars videos on youtube are amazing, and I would love to see and hear more.

WOW! This is the coolest thing I have scene regarding a musical preservation effort! Would you consider uploading your 4 disc set as a torrent or parts of it to rapidshare? I would love to have these in high quality for reference and archival purposes. I am not trying to pressure you or anything, but this is soooo awsome and I would love to hear those unreleased and alternat cues and the live performances!

P.S. After watching those videos I am suprised at all the music I have never heard!

Info: Seeing how much of the 1.0 material survived

OK, here's what I'm trying now: I have the GOUT 2.0 English and GOUT 2.0 Spanish tracks loaded together in Audacity. I'm comparing them side by side, with a preference for English dialogue of course, but a preference for the Spanish mix as it is based on the mono version (it definitely has the right klaxons).

This will give me a hybrid mix consisting of all the 1.0isms I can eke out of GOUT.

The French audio is the original 70mm audio, but I have heard that the Spanish track is a reconstruction using multiple audio sources to create a track like the 70mm audio. I could be wrong and the Spanish track could also be the original 70mm audio like the French track.

Spider-Man 2.1 - Extended Cut

Is it just me or does this sound like the most gratuitous extended cut yet? I didn't see it on TV but I was really interested in it. I spent some time last week Googling the added scenes and it sounds like complete fluff except for Jameson in the suit. Do I REALLY need to see Mary Jane going shoe shopping? Kirsten's phoned-in performance notwithstanding, the theatrical cut was damn near pitch-perfect. This EE doesn't sound like a LOTR or Superman or Dances With Wolves or James Cameron film, where the extensions bring a whole new level of depth to the characters and situations. It sounds like a pretty blatant stop at the Spidey-Fan ATM to help offset the cost of Spidey 3.

The cover says that there is an extended fight scene, and this wasn't present in the Fox extended cut. We may get to see more than was shown on the t.v version. Also, I never bought Spiderman 2 so I may pick this up.
