New petition...for redoing the special editions
Time

If someone made a serious petition asking for the 97SE to make its way to BD I think it would only undermine the efforts done by the OOT petition IMO.

Typical of fans complaining about something they can't have...for the sake of complaining. Some things are valid and worth complaining about, this is not one of them.

It'd be perceived as... NOW they're whining about bringing back the 97SE they hated so much. The next "logical" step is some nutjob making petitions to bring to whatever new format exists the 2004 blue tint versions AND the NOOOO 2011 BDs.

And honestly, who really misses those 97' versions? 2, 3 people? Not worth it and I personally, wouldn't support it.

The way I see it, there is ONE, real OT that should be made available in the newest and best possible format. Then there's all of George's alterations that, in fact hold little historical value and cultural impact if only for anecdotal reasons. So, if the OOT is available, whatever new stupid additions he comes up with and call it his true vision (at the time) it's fine by me. They've become nothing more than other versions of fan edits and if we talk about fan edits, I already have my preferred version and don't need any of the three versions faneditor George Lucas has come up with in the last 14 years.

Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

Coming back from reading the article. (Got a tweet from 005/SWrevisited a few minutes ago).

Really cool you're getting the recognition you deserve Harmy!

Maybe the extra note you sent the guy about owning the original licensed releases should be posted within the article and not in a comment that can easily be missed IMO. Wouldn't harm at all if you asked the guy to move it up I think.

But anyway, great article! You deserve it!

PS. Not mentioning ANH:R at the end when he mentions other efforts was kind of weird but maybe he hasn't seen it (doubt it) or just didn't like it. i just thought it was funny it wasn't mentioned.

You mean she was a?

That's not how the meme works.

Aw carp!

I knew it didn't sound right. Enlighten me?

In my defense, English isn't my native language, nor my second for that matter lol!

For a non-native speaker I'd accept incorrect grammar, word usage, or even congegation of verb tenses... but NO ONE misuses an internet meme! No on!

So sorry, I did look it up! Found Frink's OT meme thread. Didn't learn anything form it regarding the correct use of "You mean he's a...?" and other memes. Except for who said it first!

How the hell am I supposed to learn goddammit! LOL

:'(

Even if I fail at memes, I promise you I will try my best to properly congegete verbs at least.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

Here's one suggestion he's got I concur with:

Stormtrooper accuracy

Why: The stormtroopers throughout the movie prove to be extremely inaccurate when shooting, which seems strange as they have the best weaponry and training the galaxy has to offer.

How: Include a shot where a stormtrooper hits Chewbacca, but not causing any injury because of the Wookiee natural physical strength. Have Chewie look down on his wound – his arm or lower torso or something – and give a growl, followed by him shooting the stormtrooper that hit him.

Why not have the Stormtrooper hit 3P0 and ricochet into the right wall, with Chewy turning around and hitting the Stormtrooper? Even a little bit of accuracy would heighten the tension.

The Stormtroopers inaccuracy never bothered me too much since I knew, even as a child that they had to miss simply because they were the bad guys and the good ones would win and wouldn't get shot by some random Stormtrooper.

--- Same with the escape pod in IV. Had they shot it, the movie would have ended right there...not good LOL. Was it Family Guy that commented on that? Charging by the laser or something to that extent. ---

I just accepted it as part of the whole fantasy. Now, if it were to be changed, I think it would also have to be changed in ANH and ROTJ. It's good that at least one of them got Leia on Endor, but shouldn't they kill more Ewoks by direct blaster fire? Not just run around like headless chickens and let the AT-STs do all the job? Were they really that useless? They were weren't they? heh

ANH is a major problem here because there is no one to aim at except for the main characters, so that one can't be changed. Pretty much the same with ESB unfortunately. Had Lobot or coffe maker guy or whoever been running along with Lando Leia, the carpet and robots then they would be a good kill during the escape.

Since something like that can't be done, I would leave it as is.

Okay, who actually HATES the Prequels
Time

Hmmmm.

I don't think I HATE them, but also I don't think they're okay.

I honestly can say I haven't seen any PT movie for over 2 years and that was because my GF wanted to see ROTS, which I really didn't but of course we ended up watching it. Long story short I fell asleep, literally. didn't even make it half way through.

So I can't say I enjoy them from time to time either.

To me, the best memory of the PT was the excitement of seeing the teaser trailers and trailers for the first time. Back in Nov. 98 when the TPM teaser came out I was truly over-hyped. I don't know about you, but those trailers for every one of the PT movies were really good at selling the movies and getting people excited. I still to this day, once in a while I watch them on youtube. Long time since I last did, but those were really great!

Back then, 98-99 EVERYTHING to me was about SW. At school, at home, on tv, the interwebs, etc.

Then a huge disappointment.

Same in 2001-2 and 2004-5, but less hype every time.

Over all, I think I'm more disappointed at what they ended up being. Angry at a huge missed opportunity, or 3. And sad in how many bad and profound ways they changed the story of the OT.

I do try to ignore them as best I can, but I can't help it but - THE SECOND Darth Vader enters the Tantive IV for the first time - think back and see a little annoying boy, whining teenager and plain stupid, insecure man behind the helmet and NOT the Darth Vader I grew up with.

THAT I cannot forgive.

So, I guess I do hate them, LOL! Honestly didn't think I did when I started typing this. whoa.

_________

What good did the PT serve to the OT, honestly? Probably the Obi Wan character, but nothing else. The rest, all of the rest is just for the worse in OT terms IMO.

1. DoubleKO, (I think it was you, I remember it was one of the Lego avatar guys), you've kept good tabs on me. Thanks for the constant harassment, even if I could not respond because I was conserving my posts or already out.

I think the time has come to further limit my activities here. I think I cannot come to this site except on weekends. This is very hard for me, but things are cranking up in intensity in the nursing program. If you guys see me posting any day but on a weekend, tell me to go away, or simply don't respond. I've got to focus more and more. I love writing and posting and conversing, but I must tend to these important duties. Thanks for your friendship, and hopefully this ain't the game ender for darth_ender.

2. Probably not till Christmas time. Things are just getting more and more intense, and I find myself neglectful of what I need to be doing. It's hard.

3. Hey, I've enjoyed our conversations. You're a bright feller and had the best McDonald's sign. I'll try to remain a participant, but for my own self-discipline, it will have to be only on weekends. Thanks for the kind words, Zig.

Fixed.

It will be my one and only goal to hunt every post you make day by day, every day, to see if you're complying with your pledge.

Or not.

You said it, this is really silly, but hey if it works for ya! ;)

... I was never even that bothered by him in the first place.

I fail to understand your logic then. Why?

I was a lurker for years, not so long ago I finally signed in and now I'm posting a bit. Never heard of twooffour until this thread.

Never crossed a post with the guy so why would I pledge to not respond to him? Do I find him confrontational and sort of annoying, sure, it's his thing and as long as people make a big deal out of the whole thing -- be it feeding him, or posting about not posting about him/to him -- he'll be happy. Not just in this case, but in general stop feeding the trolls and eventually they'll go away. I agree that this "let's all openly ignore him" isn't working as well as you may have thought, Frink. You're giving him too much importance, just what he wants.
