STAR WARS: EP VI -RETURN OF THE JEDI "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - ** PRODUCTION HAS NOW RESTARTED **
Time

Good point, Val. To reinforce that you could also say that Luke was planing to use the Force until the mind trick didn’t work on Jabba. By trying and apparently failing he would’ve appeared to be weaker. Using his abilities in view of everybody to kill the Rancor would’ve lost him that advantage. He was deliberately playing down how powerful he was until the Sarlaac and Jabba was mocking him for being a Jedi right up to that point.

Would you recommend Justice League to somebody who hated Man of Steel, hated Batman v Superman , walked out from Suicide quad after 20 minutes and refused to watch Wonder Woman?

Both Wonder Woman and Justice league follow the formula (heroes fighting bad guys culminating in big boss fight at the end) so if you’re happy with that I’d say go see JL and you might have fun. But Wonder Woman is a better made film (and partially informs JL) so see that first!

Bearing in mind I’m a big fan of (nearly) all the films I’ll add that if you’re a casual viewer you really won’t be missing out on too much if you never see either one.

I remember hearing a story of a teenager from the U.S. who thought it would be hilarious to steal some stop signs from around his town. He accomplished this and a little while later he was speeding about in his car and went through the junction where he’d removed one of the signs and was hit by a truck. The truck driver was seriously injured but survived but the young stop sign thief suffered an ironic (some might say fitting) end to his life.

Stop signs, my friends. They are necessary.

I just noticed you replied to my post, NeverarGreat!! Yay, finally somebody replied after all that time 😉 We actually sorted the situation ourselves when our pc was upgraded because the new one came with a recordable blu-ray drive. Quite an easy solution actually!

As for your question… Was there a description on those tape labels as well as the date? Because if the content had a date that preceded the label’s date then I’m sure it’s just a case of somebody mixing things up. Lots of tapes sat around all looking similar and lots of labels with different dates on them would make mistakes almost a certainty I think!

If the label was misapplied and you don’t have any other tapes with the correct content on then perhaps it was either damaged and thrown out or leant to a friend or relative and they mislaid it?

Well, it’s that or Gremlins.

I’m one of those who is lucky enough/daft enough to have really enjoyed 80% of the DC movies in this recent run. But after hearing rumours that (true or not) there’s apparently going to be yet another course correction because JL didn’t perform as well as expected I really think it’s time for them to stop trying to make a cohesive universe happen. It’s just not working because they’re making it up as they go and being completely reactionary.

The original (admittedly vague) intention years ago was to have MOS set in the Nolanverse and look how far away from that things are now. I think the whole thing would work much more smoothly if they simply made standalone stories.

I’m a big fan, I own all four films so far on 3D blu-ray and I’ll be buying JL too. But if I am feeling more awkward than excited at the prospect of what that JL end credit scene was setting up and their upcoming roster in general then something’s gone wrong.

This news story has nothing to do with anything but it made me chuckle.

For those too lazy to click the link:

The cold weather failed to deter one man in Bury St Edmunds who was seen just wearing the briefest of underpants and Wellington boots.

He was spotted walking past shops in the west of the town where there is a Tesco Express and various other shops.

He turned the head of one onlooker who seemed dumbstruck on what she saw walking past her.

Julie Wiseman, who owns a hair salon, said he was seen at 10.45am yesterday.

“He was wearing a little leaf print combat thong with wellie boots and he walked up Horsecroft Road. One of the girls was cutting a gentleman’s hair when she said ‘There’s a man just gone past wearing next to nothing.’

“He apparently went into the Tesco Express for a bottle of orange juice and one of the girls in there apparentley asked him if she could get him some clothes but he said ‘No, I am fine I have just been for a run.’

“We think it was the same person who was seen doing this last year.”

So, a staggering three weeks after I ordered them (God bless the international postal system) my two blu-ray copies of “Halloween 6 - The Fantabulous Producer’s Cut” have arrived.

I don’t have the option to return the one I ordered by accident so one of you lucky people gets to have it. Brand new, factory sealed and complete with not one but two of those really annoying security sticker seal things Americans put down the sides of their blu-ray boxes.

Free. From me to you. Because I’m just that nice. It’ll cost you money if you buy it. This one won’t cost you a thing. It might, however, take bloody ages to arrive depending on where you live though. But it’s absolutely free so that’s a small price to pay. The price, as previously mentioned, is nothing. Who wants it then? Hurry, while stocks last!*

*The stock is one.
