With all the talk of Reddit in another thread and with me never really having gone there I thought I’d have a look and see what it was all about.
In other completely unrelated news I’d like to take this opportunity to say that this site is the best site ever and you’re all wonderful people and I’ll never moan about you or take you for granted again.
Really? Too meta? Okay, fine.
🍟
To answer the original thread question then: I’d slice one in half, rub it on a wart and bury it under a full moon.
she’s spoken for. Oh well.
Just so you know your comment didn’t get lost in all the Reddit talk I wanted to send you a little condolence. Don’t worry, you’ll find somebody who appreciates you at some point, it’s just a matter of time.
Anyone who takes as much care in their conduct as you did in even trying to make follow-up contact after a brief meeting is going to be treasured by whoever it is that ultimately gets to romance you.

This doesnt seem like its centered around Solo.
Dude, the movie is literally called “Solo” 😉
Seriously though, they only had a minute and a half to grab our attention. It looks like there’s a lot of characters in this movie who are part of the main plot so it makes sense to show them off. And realistically it’s not like they re-wrote large parts of the story when they found the actor they hired for the lead role wasn’t “good” at his job. They’d have just fired him and found someone else.

What inconsistencies were there? Although I’ve seen it a few times I haven’t got around to buying it on disc yet so I haven’t thoroughly dissected it! I remember actually being impressed that continuity with the movies was so good.
Agree there was no issues except for Anakin not mentioning ashoka in revenge of the sith.
I think that can be overlooked because he did have a few other things to think about at that point in time!
But I suppose if they’d known Ahsoka was going to exist when they made the movie they could’ve put a reference to her in the scene when Anakin is talking to the council, or maybe Palpatine could’ve mentioned her?
Clone wars came out after revenge of the sith.
Yes?
Now there is a Duck outside of my Mum’s Carvain.
Be careful, Paja. Duck related caravan crime has been on the rise lately and that one has got the bearing of a duck that’s up to no good.

Potatoes aren’t vegetables…
They’re fruits.

Yeah, it’s a teaser trailer. As in, it’s designed to tease you with glimpses of the movie and give you a vague idea of the tone and feel.
If they were worried about the performances the lead actors were giving they’d have surely picked the best moments and lines and shoved them repeatedly in our faces. All we got was a nice little delivery of a line that had a gentle reference to episode IV and a nice bit of body language when Qi’ra (?) said that line at the end to him.
It’s a teaser trailer, you’ll get yourself in a right state if you read too much into it.
…the president of the world’s greatest country…
I know you didn’t mean it to sound so grandiose but to me, casually reading from a country that’s not the US, having to see this really doesn’t endear you to me.
Sweet Christmas.
Nice. I’m going to skip across to the Chatroulette thread if I’m reading the Last Jedi review thread and a frustratingly pointless series of posts occur. It’ll remind me just how much worse things can get.
Also what’s the topic with the least?
(excluding the work of spambots.)

In the Senate, Bail Organa has arrived unexpectedly to rally the allies of the Rebellion and force the Emperor to deal with them. There is a mad rush for votes as they hope to overturn at least some of Palpatine’s authority. Palpatine is forced into a political corner, with no choice but to dissolve the council permanently. So Bail would have to travel from the Imperial Senate on Coruscant back to Alderaan in well under two hours in order to be there to get blown up when the Death Star arrives? Pfft, that doesn’t sound very realistic!
What did he use, Khan’s special long range transporter or something? 😉
This idea was meant as a joke, but whatever…
…Alderaan was blown up several days into ANH, so technically my timeline works! So there!
You must be new to Star Wars. Everything has to make sense and conform to how you want it to be from the exact first moment you experience it or it’s the worst thing ever. The worst thing ever. All true fans know this (to be true.)

So was there ever a real “ignore” function here? I’ve been posting here for two years but I’ve been lurking for nearly a decade and I’ve not seen an option to ignore anybody. I do seem to remember folk speaking about ignore lists and such in the past but I think I assumed it was just in jest.
I’ve read a few random pages of this thread and it sounds like there was an actual ignore function - I know the site has had a few overhauls so was it removed or has the joke gone over my head?
If there was a genuine way to ignore people I’m not sure if I’d do it. But then again!
Why are there four NFL threads?
Yep, somebody really dropped the ball there.
There’s going to be a Solo trailer? Star Wars Solo?
What I meant by “digital piracy” is bootlegging digital material. Whether it’s selling the links to a download or using blu-rays as a physical medium it’s still all digital piracy. There’s nothing to do but report them to whatever marketplace they’re selling them on.
Life isn’t fair, the bad guys frequently get away with things. The worst part is that most of them genuinely don’t believe what they’re doing is wrong.
Apparently someone is selling Harmy’s Despecialized versions at Wizard World St. Louis Comic Con.
$30 a piece
While this is irritating, it’s kind of par for the course with conventions. You could report the seller to the people in charge of vendors at the convention, but in my experience, they’ll pretty much just ignore you. They’re pretty small fish to fry in the grand scheme of things. Bootlegs at conventions have been going on since the earliest days of comic con.
Even though this could be risky, perhaps you could call the police and have them arrest the bootleggers as that would put a stop to it.
What can the cops do, he is selling a fan edit yes its bad but not police bad.
Technically you could say it was stolen from Harmy.
Then at that point its harassing the police
No its not, because bootlegging is a crime that those who sell the editions are committing.
All true, but the police really won’t be able to do much as it’s digital piracy. They’ll tell you it’s the copyright holder’s responsibility to take legal action against the bootleggers or the website selling the item. If it was physically stolen by trespass or extortion or violence then they might be interested.
Our only real options here are letting the rights holder know their property has been bootlegged or reporting the seller to eBay.
So basically, our only option is reporting them to eBay.
Even though I can’t stand the self-important, over-opinionated, superior and entitled woman - Natalie Portman has been rapping again and it’s pretty great!
I tried watching a feature length hardcore porn once; I got bored within ten minutes.
Scrambled adult cable channels were pretty hard on the eyes back in the 80’s. 😉
FILTH! I’d like to lodge an official complaint.
The Star Wars trilogy special edition - behind the scenes It was split into three parts for the VHS release but this is the complete half hour version from the laserdisc with a bit of extra stuff! Best quality version I can find.
The Mythology of Star Wars Filmed around the time of the release of Episode I George Lucas sits down and talks for an hour about everything Star Wars! Personally, I love this - it’s a really, really good interview. Not the best quality version available so it might be worth doing a bit more searching.
When Star Wars Ruled The World A fun VH1 collection of interviews from the 90’s which is fluff, but still interesting! (Probably not the best quality version out there.)
Star Wars - The Magic and The Mystery Another fluffy fity minutes (presented by Howie Long!) but it’s well put together and worth your time I think.
From Star Wars to Star Wars- The Story of Industrial Light & Magic Samuel L. Jackson presents a brief overview of ILM from '77 to '99. Pretty low quality video but the best I can find.
A more recent documentary is The Galaxy Britain Built which aired at the end of last year about the UK’s contribution to Star Wars. I’m patriotically biased but it’s a really interesting watch and has a lot of behind the scenes staff (and Gareth Edwards) sharing their stories.
Ralph McQuarrie: Tribute to a Master Shown at Star Wars Celebration a few years back and then split into five parts on starwars.com, this version edits them back together - it’s in HD (although not the highest quality possible.)
I think starwars.com has the best quality version of From Star Wars To Jedi - The Making Of A Saga
As others have said, some of what you’re after is on the Prequel Trilogy dvds. Whatever your opinion on the actual movies all three of those releases are FULL of great bonus material which is definitely worth buying despite being in old fashioned standard definition 😉
Also, I must mention Jamie Benning. He’s made several outstanding (and very professional) documentaries which are on his Vimeo channel, also some other non-Star Wars stuff you might find of interest. Highly recommended!
Brassed Off is a class act whereas Pitch Perfect is a crass act.
