I actually had to Google what the word elective means in the US college context to understand the above posts! Now I understand, and lol. In no way was I making a joke though, for once I was actually being serious!! Duracell can decide just not to watch that stuff.

(that link Rebo posted deserves a thread of its own I reckon. There’s definitely some fun debates to be had about that - I have a feeling we’d get some strong opinions on both sides from a few folks on here!)

Inevitably it will crash and all those important tabs full of deep insights you meant to look at again will be lost to history. Or maybe you’re the kind of horrible person who opens new tabs for no reason.

Seems like there used to be a thread inquiring about missing persons, but I can’t find it. I am a bit worried about Bingowings, knowing what difficulty he was going through, and now it’s been a while since he last logged in. Hope he’s okay.

Ditto. A few of his posts toward the end of last year did have me feeling a bit concerned. He’s disappeared from time to time before and always come back so whatever he’s currently doing I too hope that he’s okay and he comes back to see us sooner rather than later.

Han - Solo Movie ** Spoilers **

Do you know how when you drive a different car than you’re used to and you need to mentally readjust your sense of the width and height when driving in close to walls etc but how after a while you just get used to it and know without looking how much space there is?

Well, the new positioning of the Falcon’s dish makes me wonder if Lando had forgotten that it wasn’t still laying flat when he flew it through the Death Star in Return of the Jedi.

I bet after he said, “That was too close” he thought to himself, “…and it never would’ve happened if you’d kept it in the same place I installed it, Han old buddy.”

The Kenobi <s>Movie</s> Show (Spoilers)

Was the 2020 movie confirmed as a Kenobi movie??

Not by anybody other than the press I’m afraid. I would imagine that once we get an announcement that episode IX has begun filming we’ll hear something official about whatever the next movie is going to be. So far they seem to be keeping us informed in “detail” about only the next two movies in their release plans.

Given that they’ve announced plans for a new trilogy and a new series of films over the past couple of months it wouldn’t surprise me if 2020 was a quiet year for new Star Wars movies. With the new animated series and at least one live-action series coming before or during 2020 maybe they’ll want to avoid over-saturating the market and just focus on those properties and begin releasing the new set of movies from 2021/22?

Personally, I’d like to see a Kenobi movie finish off this duo of trilogies. If they do that, we’ll have had three Skywalker saga movies and three prequels featuring characters and locations from the OT. That seems very nostalgically balanced in a mathsy sort of way to me! After that perhaps they can move away from the time period the current movies (and animated series) are tethered to and expand the universe a bit.

tl;dr NO.

Strange technological events are afoot at my house…

So, I’ve got a multi-region blu ray player which I use only when I’m watching imported discs. It’s new(ish) and made my Sony, not Sorny. The rest of the time I use either my PS3 (hooked up to the same TV) or my PC.

Using the multi-region player and not the PS3 I popped in Star Wars Rebels - Season 3 this afternoon and found the main menus were juddery. Assuming it was just a random error I played the first episode and discovered that while the audio was perfect, the video would play for a second or two, freeze, then whizz forward to catch up with the sound, play for another second, freeze again and repeat.

My first thought was that the player had gone wrong so I tried the other discs, but they all performed in the same way. So I tried switching regions from A to B and back again to no effect. Then I tried another blu ray, and it worked fine. Then another, then another, then a DVD, then I tried Star Wars Rebels - Season One and it also worked just fine, Season Two also played as it should.

Thoroughly confused I put Season Three back in and the juddering resumed, at this point I felt like an idiot because this was clearly being caused by dodgy discs - but when I played it through the PS3 it was fine.

Instead of spending my Sunday afternoon watching Kanan and the gang I’ve tested nearly all of my discs to see if any more of them get the judders. The upshot is, for whatever reasons, every single blu ray and DVD I own will play perfectly in my multi-region EXCEPT The Force Awakens (3D & 2D version), Rogue One and Season Three of Rebels. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol: 2 plays fine but the main animated menu displays the same kind of judders.

So basically, although I haven’t bought any more than those four, every Disney blu ray I’ve got which was released after November 2015 seems to have taken offence to something going on in my multi-region player. I’m glad to have other blu ray players because if I only had the one and it was making my Star Wars judder, I’d be a bit miffed.

I’m assuming it’s something to do with interference from copy protection, or possibly wizards are involved. Has anybody else experienced anything like this before? It’s a bit odd!!

I’m looking forward to testing Thor Ragnarok next month to see what happens with that.

Does anyone know of a mirror of this web exclusive content?

If someone could pm me links then I could get them hosted somewhere.

I am really itching to hear the other commentaries after listening to the Episode IV one with Pablo Hidalgo.

Me too! Reading this thread I’m a bit confused as to whether everybody’s talking about the same thing though.

Are these “deep commentaries” the same commentaries that you would be taken to if you put your 2004 dvd in your computer and went to starwarsdotcom? If the other Pablo ones were available somewhere surely Harmy would’ve put them on his V and VI MKVs like he did for IV?

I’m just really confused in general about this. Could somebody who uses the spleen look into what exists over there, pwitty pwease?

What’s Pulp Fiction’s original aspect ratio? I rented it on TV to watch it 2 days ago and it was 2.35:1, but I seem to remember watching it a couple of years ago and I think the aspect ratio was 16:9. Am I crazy, or was there a release with a different aspect ratio, or has it always been 2.35:1?

I had it on VHS in the 90’s and the aspect ratio was 2.35:1

I remember because at the time all I had was a 14" TV and the movie looked tiny!

How did you originally find this site?
Time

I thought it might be interesting to share our stories of how we first found our way to the best Star Wars site on the web.

I’m sure there are far more exciting stories than mine but I’ll start the ball rolling:

I was browsing the official starwarsdotcom forum back in 2008 and there were conversations about mistakes and continuity in the movies. My bugbear at the time was the blurry stars outside the throne room in ROTJ and I was pleased to find another person there who’d complained about the same thing. But one of the next comments mentioned how “Adywan” would probably fix that in his version. I had no idea what an Adywan was but I did some research and found myself reading his list of changes in the ANH:R thread. I’ve been a regular ever since.

I expect there’s a lot who came here thanks to Adywan and Harmy but it’ll still be interesting to hear your stories. So come on, tell us how you found your way here!

This movie will unavoidably portray Han in a heroic light (because that’s what Star Wars is) which completely undermines his OT arc worse than shooting last did in the SE.

Don’t forget that whilst running from the Rathtars in The Force Awakens Han stopped, turned back and threw that other bloke right into the Rathtar’s mouth to give everybody a little bit more time to escape.
