Yeah it can be done quickly (but Friday for you might be saturday for me, keep that in mind 😃). I’ll use the same files used for v1 (if anyone has noticed mistakes or so, tell me !). The tricky part is the new crawl in fact (if you send me in advance the first minutes of the edit containing the crawl it’s even better. EDIT: Ridley posted it, so no need to send it to me !) and the deleted scene (I can do that in advance as well).

It’s hard to tell by just watching a 90 seconds portion of the scene. Maybe the full sequence (from Han’s death to Rey and Finn running into the woods) could give hindsight on what works better.
Snoke’s music:

• Pros: the transition is perfect
• Cons: there is no feeling given about what’s at stakes (Han killed, Republic destroyed, Resistance about to be).

This could work:

The other thing is, it would not be hard to move the horn sting in the cue I suggested to right after Snoke says weapon, so you’re not stepping on his dialogue at all.

This would address the only issue I have with the dramatic music added: the fact it drowns the dialogues.

Is this your ranking of all the movies (3 are missing; 1 is still impossible to watch) or is it your SW marathon choice ?

I found this forum looking for Dawn of the Empire (despecialized can be heard of everywhere else; you can find them easily without a spleen invitation). I was watching ROTS before the release of TFA and was thinking “there are things I like and many little things that are lame. I’m pretty sure with a few editing adjustments the movie could be far better… if I think that, 100% sure that many others did and have already done that !”. And there I found this forum after a quick google search (might have been fanedit.org first; don’t remember exactly).

That’s just my personal opinion of the PT and i appreciate that there are fans out there that like them, so i wouldn’t really want to make Revisited so you couldn’t watch the PT too if you wanted to.

Oh, thanks for the long reply ! Since I don’t hate any SW film (I, II, VII, R1: I don’t hate them, I just find them not very good but quite enjoyable thanks to competent fan-editing, so in my mind all the official Lucasfilm canon exists) I’m glad your Revisited Trilogy can be watched in a full “Saga Cycle” (and I wasn’t convinced by the addition of Battle of the heroes in ANH:R, so good thing you’re removing it from ANH:R-HD… the federation droid was a fun addition though, would have been nice to keep it 😃). Good idea for the “your mother” mention ! (don’t know if it can be done but it would fit better the PT - yeah I know it was the PT that was supposed to fit the OT… - without creating an obvious PT reference since Luke’s mother is mentioned a few minutes prior to this scene).

By the way I think your idea to finish the Trilogy is great; I never was very happy with the “teddy bear dancing” grand finale of all official cuts; a bittersweet feeling would indeed be more aligned with VII as well as ending ROTJ the way it was supposed to end when Kurtz was still around (Luke becoming a Obi-Wan ermit figure, Leia being called to new responsibilities towards her people, and so on) keeping Lucas from taking questionable decisions.

Very good edit list! Just a few things I don’t quite agree with but since I’m 100% OK with the rest I totally stay hyped for this project (especially after watching what you’ve achieved with TESB:R).

Too bad, it was a good BRD 2011 addition, it gave ewoks a creepier look. The only issue with that is it wasn’t made for all ewoks.

This is where the Force Ghosts will appear and the film will end with Luke being alone (which in turn foreshadows TFA).

So I assume the “revisited is only a trilogy for itself” point of view does no longer apply if elements are made to link the OT:R with the new movies (then any “it’s from the PT so it’s not gonna be considered in OT:R” becomes quite irrelevant… so old Naboo fighters to join the Endor battle 😉).

It is indeed better, with a more epic and dramatic feeling. The mix is a little bit off but this is definitely a very good idea to use Dom’s suggestion here. And this solution is far better than using the Ackbar “still functional” scene.

So glad this awesome project is reaching its end 😃 ! (v2 was lauched this january !)

I love the last two edited scenes posted here. I agree the video transition could be smoother (maybe slowing down the final shot of “I will tighter your restraints” could do the trick ?) but even without being perfect they decrease some plot issues. It’s worth the effort I think ! (take your time to polish it guys, no hurry to release it before TLJ)

edit: I would even suggest to remove the “And I will drop my weapon” which is out of place in the dramatic flow of the movie at this point (TFA is often too “bad comedy-oriented”, decreasing this aspect could be the work of another edit though).

The unfinished “Amendments to the constitution / Palpatine’s Machinations” scene is actually usable now that these guys showed how it could be edited.

Maybe even darkening the shadows would help.

Oh brillant scene it is ! Does it exist in better quality that could match the other deleted sequences (it’s from the bluray set, so might be ?) ? If so I would love to see it integrated in an extended cut 😃
