Nah it’s impossible to add Han Solo in a fanedit. Don’t have other choice but keeping the guy who pretends to be Solo. Maybe cutting all references to Han Solo ?

Something new by the way with this SW: for the first time, I find it ugly. Very ugly. And cheap (the imperial battle front at the beginning looks like Starship troopers 2…). All the other episodes look good (OT, TPM, ROTS, TLJ, R1) or good enough (TFA and AOTC), but this one is so ugly it’s gonna be easy to remove it from my headcanon.
Solo is a very fine swashbuckling score. Like Giacchino with his own SW score, I only wish Powell could have made it without any OT theme references. But his own material, somewhere between Pan and How to train your dragon, is excellent.
Some SW movies are great, others are bad, others are in the middle. But when it comes to the scores, I love all of them. Don’t know how I would rank them, but it would be something like that:

The spot consists of X-Wing flying with the Force theme in media res (which mean the characters in the movie HEAR the Force theme cue used in the tv spot). Anakin is convinced: he’s going to enroll.
Republican officer: What’s your name kid?
Young Anakin: I’m a person, and my name is Anakin.
Republican officer: Ok kiddo. Why do you want to enroll in the Republican Academy?
Young Anakin: I have the dream to walk in the sky, sir.
Republican officer: Walk in the sky, really? Ok kiddo… have a last name?
Young Anakin: No sir. I have no last name, only my dreams.
Republican officer: Hum… ok then, young Anakin… Skywalker. Welcome in the Republican Air Force.
(yeah, too bad Disney and Kasdan didn’t make the PT, it would have been sooooooooo much better… 😦)
-Editing episode 9 crawl to imply that now Luke can project himself across the galaxy without dying. Makes him more powerful and a way to explain his scenes in 9.
Dude, be serious one second. The “let’s rewrite the crawl to accomodate every change” is a running joke on the fanedit section.

It’s a SW flick, you don’t need to be encouraged to watch it; besides you like the previous Disney Wars so I don’t think you’ll find anything to bother you with Solo if you weren’t bothered by the previous Meta Wars. Pretty sure you’ll love it and rank it above RotJ (a running gag since 2015…).
it apparently was actually Ray Park (though it looked bad). Just didn’t fit the movie at all.
The hologram effect looked weird then. The movie is kinda a complete mess with a Fast & furious third acte that doesn’t make any sense, so I’m not sure that anything was fitting during 2 hours.
Imagine what I think about the rest of the movie then 😦

Well, lucky for you. I wish I had also fallen in love with this new movie, but I don’t. At least the soundtrack is cool, very Pan vs How to train your dragon oriented, good Powell work here.
But it’s logical I liked the Maul caméo since I find the “alternative” SW (TCW, Rebels) more interesting than the new movies. If you don’t like the tvseries, the caméo can seem weird but as a matter of fact if you’re dealing with the underworld between Ep3&4 Maul is somewhere pulling strings. Palpatine has the galaxy, Maul the underworld, Sith have won on all fronts. I love the idea.
I wish Maul had been a real actor 'cause it seemed he was CGI, right ?

Pretty sure when Threepio says “Your ship has a most peculiar dialect” in Episode V it’s now referring to L3 being part of the Falcon.

Nah, I don’t give rates. Solo is just a very bad movie even before being a very bad SW movie. I’m not mad about it, it’s just Fast & furious with a cheap SW skin. There ain’t much to say about.
Easiest fan edit ever: cut the Maul scene entirely. You’ve just made the film ten times better!

The only thing I don’t like of the theatrical duel is the bullet-time effect which is dated and ridiculous. We don’t need duel of the fates or battle of the heroes in every SW, the red guards is a very good action scene, Ben v Luke doesn’t need more but less. Either way, I’m very intrigued to check the final version of Ivan’s edit, everything put together might work, I don’t know, and his skills in editing are very good so at least I’m confident there won’t be real video/audio jarring issues.

Best version so far. The audio transition is way better, especially the beginning. I still feel the fade out would be seamless if it was sync with the light speed sound… I wonder if removing a few frames (maybe a complete second) from Leia (with audio) could do the trick (around 0:39 and 0:40).
Good news for the kick ladder scene ! I also agree with the fact the passing remote shot is essential and should not be altered.
Well done, but I still don’t get why you would make him live since he’s going to stay dead during EpIX.
Trying to fix Ackbar death is a great idea. But introducing a “spy” subplot out of the blue that would have no conclusion in order to fix plot holes feels like digging a new hole to fill another.
This radical edit seems very ambitious but I’m pretty sure many ideas won’t work and are gonna create more plot issues than fixing the existent ones. And changing Luke’s saber from blue to green is very wrong (unless many changes I’m not aware of are going to make it seem logicial, because in the theatricul cut it does make perfect sense the saber is blue).

It doesn’t really work. I understand it’s not finished, but the way the scene is performed by Hamill and Daisy doesn’t support this complete change. Besides, there isn’t material to create the needed dialogues, which are by the way in total contradiction with the Luke-R2 scene (which is one of the best moments of the movie, so removing it to accomodate an idea that doesn’t work would feel very strange to me).
Guys, very good mockups for the Luke moment scene ! It seems you won’t need my help at all ! (which is fine, very busy week for me and you’re better than me at this anyway 😃). The music works well and works even better that the original does (which is, if I’m not mistaken, the music from TFA when the Republic is destroyed, right ?). Only very small issue being the fade out when Leia’s shot begins. I would personnaly have tried to get to the “light speed” sound as the Leia’s shot begins, so the fade out/fade in would begin around one second sooner.
Also, I love the idea of trimming the bomb scene. I love this scene but it’s a little bit too long for no real good reason.
