I run final cut off of a Mac mini and it works great. Not quite as fast as the big boys but it runs with no problems at all. The only problem you run into with running Final Cut on the Mini is that you run out of storage space really quick. I have about four 300GB externals all chained together if I need to get some more storage space. (I'm running FCP 4.5 HD on my mini without any problems)

When formatting a drive for Mac just remember that FAT32 can only write 2GB of info at a time so if you have a file that is bigger than 2GB you can't get it onto a FAT32 drive without breaking it up with some sort of compression program.

As for NTFS I had a drive set up with this for moving information between a Mac and a PC and it wasn't as stable as a Mac formatted partition. Then again it could have been the HD I was using at the time. It's easier to set up a network for this. Which is how I worked around this problem.

That's the thing, I have to do some work on some computers for a friend and I have no idea what the computers are. I can look it up once I am there if a computer around has internet but it would be super easy to run a program off of my flash drive and just get the answer that way.

I'm looking for a good program that lists all of your DVD's you own with movie breakdowns and cover art.

I have found several that are free online but I don't have internet at my house so I'm trying to find something that will download info about the discs from the internet but can work without being loged online.

If anyone can help that could be kick ass. If not I hope the ads will point me in the right direction.

Thanks

The Last Of The Mohicans NTSC (Original Version) (Released)

I'm pretty sure that the theatrical cut is the same as the vhs and lasedisc one.

The VHS and Laserdisc released here in the states was completely different than the theatrical version. The overall story was the same as the theatrical version but the theatrical version had a few things that the VHS and Laserdisc were missing. The scene where Hawkeye shoots Maj. Duncan Heyward when he is on the fire was a bit longer. You got to see the bullet hole in his head. The DVD version is only a few frames shorter than the VHS and Laserdisc but those were even shorter than the Theatrical Version. The end battle on the cliff side was gorier and a bit longer and in the theatrical version we actually get to see Magua eat Col. Edmund Munro's heart! It was good stuff. Mostly it was gore that was cut from the US home video releases and nothing major. But I have yet to see that version on ANY US home video release.

If you watch any US home video version of this film you can see some of the jump cuts. Especially during the end cliff battle between Chingachgook and Magua.

OK So it's not completely different but I still want the theatrical version on DVD.

Wait a minute. Is this the theatrical cut or the version that was put out on laserdisc and VHS. Because those two things are completely different. If you are going off of the original VHS and laserdisc as being the theatrical cut then you are way off. The theatrical version was so far different from the version that was put out on VHS and Laserdisc it was insane. I have yet to see the theatrical version released anywhere.

So which one is this again?

Just found this...

Universal finally got around to at least putting out the longer cut; the long-ass making of is nowhere to be seen, however Still, it's a great movie and we finally get to see it in pristine DVD quality That's never a bad thing!

That is from www.dreadcentral.com so I'm still thinking the US version of this is sans making of...

Perhaps a DVD of just the bonus stuff is in order at this point. I wouldn't sell just yet, we still might have something for those of us without region free DVD players.
