Request: for... 'Shaun of the Dead: Extended'
Time
I realise that a lot of people post requests here and it's not just you. However you happened to be the one who posted it when I was in this mood. Nothing against you I just think things like that should stay in the request forum. We have a request forum so why not post those things in that forum.

Nothing personal it's just starting to become a problem around here. Sorry if I offended you.

Info: Preservation and Fan Edit Links - an Index of Completed Projects...
Time

What I have here is a master list of all the preservation and fan edits currently COMPLETED and I provided as many links as possible to the thread(s) about them. This list will be updated with new information as often and I come across it. Please email (horrorfan256 at yahoo.com) or PM me with any additions I should make to this list.

A list of current Star Wars Perseveration and fan edits can be found HERE. This list should be an easy way to clear up as many questions as possible for all the new visitors to our forum. Please try and post any questions about these edits in the correct thread so we can avoid clutter. Now on to the list…

Preservation and Fan Edit List (UPDATED 5-10-2006)

Fan Edit/Preservation Poll
Time
Jay,

Perhaps this is something more for the new website but what if we had a poll on the website where fan edits & preservations can be added and voted for? Much like the poll Boon is running currently but as more of a fixture of the site.

I know we have all read tons and tons of posts from people asking which version of “X” is better. “Should I get Y or Z?”

I think a website poll would get rid of a lot of that. I know some plans about a Psycho Review were in the works but perhaps a permanent poll would also benefit the newer folks around the forum.

X-Men: the animated series (1992-1997) (Released)
Time
Sorry I can't help there.

1. I have no good suggestions about automatic IVTC methods or IVTC of any kind.

3. I don't have any idea of where to find such a thing in the first place. I can only access the internet at work so any sort of P2P or Torrent thing is not going to happen in any way, shape, or form. Again you are on your own.

5. As far as doing subtitles for a DVD...You couldn't pay me enough to do that. It takes up way too much damn time. It's much easier to pay a person 300 bux and have them give you a text file with all that info instead of sitting around doing it yourself.

FREE YOU SAY! NO WAY MAN!

Good luck anyway.

The assigned and marvel records were intended to appear on our DVDs as a page with text, an extra of sorts. After all, the aired order is how people saw them. Then again you do make a good point and I'll start a poll about what order would you guys prefer to have them in.

When authoring why not put the option to watch the episodes in assigned, marvel record, or aired? It will not be hard to do and will not take up any more disc space than is already being used. It is really a very simple process and would make your final discs look much more professional. Stories in DVD Studio Pro will do the trick for this very easily.

So I was around newegg...
Time
Everything will plug right into the mac just fine.

Video files add up in a hurry. That all depends on the length of the file you will be using. I use the following to figure it out.

[Video Bitrate (# bits/sec) + Audio Bitrate (# bits/sec)] X # Seconds = Total Files Size (# bits)

Just put in your info and do the math and you will have a good idea of how much space you need. A 500 GB HD is a good idea to start. You can get buy fine with 250 but the extra space is very nice. I'm constantly fighting with space on my HD. I can't remember the last time it wasn't full.

How do I Help?
Time
He needs more help than you can offer I'm afraid to say. Having had friends with serisous drugs problems you should do whatever you can to get him into a rehab clinic. Talk to as many people as you can that care about him. Without that network of support and a desire to quit I'm sorry to say he won't make it. The best advice I can offer you is to call an area rehab clinic and talk to someone there about his problem.

I am in no way a professional and I would suggest you seek the advice of one.

Star Wars Poster Book - SCANNED!
Time
So how many did you download, man?

None.

Uh, if posting scans of Star Wars posters is copyright infringement, we'd have to shut down every cover site and half the internet.

To an extent I agree. Obviously the fact that I have been a contributing member here for so long says something about what I think about what is going on on this website. However I do think that posting scans from a book that can be purchased legally is a bit over the line. After all we are not talking about scanning posters here. What we are talking about is scanning a book. The fact of the matter is that we can spend days going back and forth about this issue and it's validity here on this forum. Seeing as we are both members of a forum that actively partakes in the preservation of out of print movies I have to assume that along some line we have a common ground about what is right and what is wrong legally here. With that in mind I really have nothing left to say about this issue that won’t lead us, and this thread, in circles for the next few days/weeks.

I'm not trying to start a lengthy conversation about the legalities of this site. That is a matter that rests in the hands of the moderators and Jay alone. Outside of those people it is simply a matter of personal opinion that, in all fairness, doesn't amount to a whole hill of beans. I just wanted to point out that I think this particular thread may be going a bit far with its depiction of copyrighted material. That is it, period. No mal intent was intended.

Please don't take that as a knock against ocpmovie in any shape or form.

Info Wanted: on various fan edits - goonies, jason goes to hell, halloween 5 etc
Time
There is a bunch of Halloween edits around that Rikter has done. I think he took TV footage and added it into the movies. I'm not sure I really haven't seen them. In fact the only fan edits I have seen are the Magnolia Fan edits. That was years ago however.

I do know that at one time someone was working on a version of Halloween that put parts one and two into one long movie.

I don't know what ever happened with that.
