We might be closer than I thought. It sounds like Warner is getting closer to a deal. I found this over at www.thedigitalbits.com if anyone is interested.

"Finally this afternoon, CNN/Money is reporting that Warner may be about to close the deal in its months-long effort to purchase the MGM film library. MGM has reportedly restricted some of its employees' ability to trade shares in the company, a strong indicator that something's afoot behind the scenes. Thanks to Bits reader Chris W. for the heads-up on this. Other news sources (click here and here) also have updates on the deal today, saying that to make their bid more attractive to MGM majority owner Kirk Kerkorian, Warner has shifted their offer to all cash (from cash and stock). Looks like this could be for real, folks."

We'll have to see.

Yep your right. It will be one big mess come sep 21st. I'm still looking forward to watching them though. I guess well have to throw our hands up in the air and just go "it's only entertainment." After all when everything is said and done I bet they will still be somewhat fun to watch. I don't really care for Episode I or II but I watch them from time to time anyway just for the fun of it. Somewhere down the line Star Wars stopped being an experience and became something I pop in the VCR on a Saturday and fall asleep halfway through but still wake up in time to watch all the cool stuff.

Sad really.

You can fake an accent just fine. I fake an Irish accent all the time. So much so that my girlfriend bet me I wouldn't walk into an Irish bar (I mean hardcore Irish Bar) and fake the accent the whole time. I took that bet and when I got in there I ordered a drink and the old guy next to me at the bar started asking if I was "from the old country." I played it off for three free beers then left.

It's a great way to pick up chicks too

I have no shame.

So last night I was on Ebay looking at a new keyboard and mouse for the old computer and I finally decided to go all out and finally buy the Logitech MX900 mouse/keyboard combo. The one with bluetooth.

So I buy this and am feeling pretty good about myself until this morning I open up the paper and there it is in all it's glory. Front page of the buisness section, "Logitech releases the worlds first laser mouse today."

I couldn't have been three weeks or anything. Oh no it had to be 8 hours later. If only I had waited a few more hours..................

If you want a 150" screen that projector would have to be like 30 feet back from the wall.

Even if you can get it back that far the screen door effect would kill the whole picture. Your better off going for a 90" or smaller screen.

You can pick up the Infocus 4805 that looks really good. I had one before I upgraded to the 7200 (I had it for exactly three days, I'm a sucker for a good deal). I have that hitting a 92" screen and it looks great.

Projectors all come down to the room they are in. If you can put it in a room that is all painted black, with black carpet and no light in it other than the projector the 4805 will look just as good the 7200 I have in my set up. I would bet money on it. I have a ton of light sources in the room I have the projector in so most of the time I use my Toshiba TV. It's more than enough for me.

I would like to upgrade to the 65" model though. But yeah just take Jay's advice and don't get into home theatre. You always want something more. ALWAYS!

My Equipment
57” 16:9 HD Toshiba Projection TV (57HX81) -or- Infocus 7200 (92" screen)
Pioneer VSX-D810S (Receiver)
Pioneer DV-F727 (DVD Player)
M&K V-1250 THX Subwoofer
Infinity 12” Subwoofer (BU-120)
M&K 550 THX Surround (X2)
M&K LCR-750 THX Front (X2)
M&K 750-THX Center (X2 - one in front and one in rear)
Monster Clean Power Center HTS2500 MKII

I'll tell you how to get a free one.

Ask around until someone wants you to build them a computer. Use their money to buy a kick ass graphics card and put in an ok one into their computer. You keep the good one because how will they know? Just make sure you fill that sucker up with tons of software for them.

It's the least you can do.

(I want to try this but haven't the guts or the heart for it personally)

"The Lovely Bones" was going to be directed by Steven Spielberg at one point and time. I don’t' know what happed to that but I was really happy to hear Peter Jackson was interested in it. It would be a great film to had to his filmography.

As for "The Hobbit" MGM holds the distribution rights to the film and New Line owns the rights to make the film into a movie. MGM is now for sale and it's up in the air between Sony and Warner Brothers as to who gets the company and its film library. If Warner gets it we might see "The Hobbit" sooner than thought.

I'm keeping my figures crossed that Warner gets it. The old cartoon version isn't good at all.

That's the new Nividia card. It's also happens to be the only card that is backed by ID Software. So they more than likely gave a deal to Nividia to include it in the package. That is a good video card. To bad I just bought a new one six months ago. I'll wait another six months and i'm sure there will be another new card. But for right now there are only two better than that one.
