Alienware Aurora Star Wars Edition
Time
If I were you I would go to the alienware site and get all the specs on the system you want (ie. motherboard, processor, ram) and just build the exact same piece of hardware for yourself. They will charge like 3,000 bux for a top of the line computer that you could build with your own two hands for around 900.

I know your thinking you don't have the skill to do it. Lots of people are scared of building computer by themselves but it's not hard at all. Search online for tutorials and do some research. Next thing you know you'll have a pimped out box of your own.

original trilogy - why do you care so much?

Rather than go on berating this guy for asking a noob question I will give you my 2 cents. (although the others are right this should in another forum all together)

…anyway. I think I speak for about everyone when I say the only reason we want the OT so badly is because the whole time we grew up we watched the same beat up VHS copies over and over and over again. Now with this new technology and a chance to get the best picture and sound possible out of the movies we have always loved, we can’t. We HAVE to get this new hybrid of old and new.

Without getting into a debate about old vs. new for the umpteenth time I’ll tell you we just want to see the movie we grew up watching.

The movies we know every nuance of to a T.

The movies that, for most of us, changed our lives.

At the root of this…

We want the movies we remember as kids.

That’s it. Plain and simple.

I had someone email me this link and I thought I would share it with you guys. It’s kinda funny but goes on a little long. It’s still a pretty neat piece of filmmaking. Must have taken some work to do.

DVD Covers
Time
Hello everyone,

It's been about 7 month’s sense I have been around these parts. My how things have changed. Anyway I just got internet again so I might be around a little more often now. I can only imagine how many new DVD versions I have missed of the OT. I'm still very happy with my TR47 versions.

Anyway the reason for this post.

I have updated my website with a few new DVD covers for you guys...that is if you want them. I have put the old ones up there too. I know that set has been around for awhile but I figure this way you can find it easily if you need it.

The new set is a high res cover scan of the 95 faces VHS. They are formatted for easy printing and look pretty good. I had sent a set of these to Rikter at one point but those were like 20 MB each. These have been cut back to about 7 MB each. If you like them...good.

I'm starting work on a new set of covers but it's a project I don't have much time for at the moment. Don't be asking when they will be done. It's just an idea at this point and it may end up being really stupid. "Art isn't safe."

Anyway go check those new covers out here..............http://mackey256.tripod.com/Covers.html

I also found this page which has some cool slip cases for Star Wars DVDs. You may already know about this though. (I really like the Star Wars Classic Case) They are kinda expensive but they are neat anyway. Check out the new section for another version. You can find that here

Enjoy and I hope to see you all around here a little more often.

I can't wait for the blackhawks owner Bill Wirtz to die. The hawks will be way better off them. Perhaps when that happens they can actually have a good team and keep it.

Hell if that happens I may have to go back to being a hawks fan. But considering that he shits on the fans I'm staying away. IE game blackouts on TV. What kind of shit is that?

Power Hungry Execs...
Time
Actually the middle manager quote is dead on. I doubt many of you have been on a movie set but it's insane. You get everyone coming up to you telling you how they think a scene should be filmed. And by everyone I mean EVERYONE. Guys who park cars for the day tell you how it should be filmed.

I'm a filmmaker and I once had a guy come up to me and tell me (This is a direct quote).

"Can't the lead actor be like three inches taller. That would make this movie much better."

I have no idea who the hell that guy was. I never saw him before in my entire life.

Although Lucas is pretty much a manager and studio exec. He's a studio exec for his own movie. It's not like he buts into other peoples movies and tells them to refilm something.

My 2.

I'm not sure how I feel about Robert Rodriguez. His movies are fun to watch but they aren't very good if you know what I mean. Then you have Jaws which is a great moive and fun to watch.

I'm also a little sick of hearing about how he does so much with so little. LITTLE MY ASS. I could make a movie like Spy Kids with 30 million dollars too! Granted his first film was made for about 5,000 but his next film was made with 10 mill. Not exactly small beans.

Oh well just my two cents.
