Making the movies more alive, advanced, and superior. They are much better movies. 95% percent of the changes made the movies better.

lol okay...
that was indeed a great argument..
how bout you go to the video store and rent some classic movies so that you learn to appreciate a well written story which has nothing to do with CGI and maybe... just maybe i will be able to continue this debate... otherwise you are a lost cause..

Movies that have never been released in original form on DVD
Time
wait a minute..

Lucas didnt say the originals.. your right.. but i didnt say that either... how bout u reread before you go into a hissy fit!

I said Lucas said the Star Wars trilogy is being release... however he's giving us the Star Wars trilogy yes... but the SE!!!!!!
if he called them that when he released them in the theater then he should call them that when they are on DVD... that my friend would be misleading the customer... especially someone who isnt that big into the Star Wars phenominon like us...

By him calling the SE's the Star Wars Trilogy is bullshit...
look at the LD and VHS releases of the SE's... did they say Star Wars trilogy.... NO!
they said star wars trilogy : special edition!

SO LUCAS IS FALSE LABELING!!

Censoring a movie without the permission of the original filmmakers and then labeling in original uncut is blasphemous

maybe you should ask Irvin Kershner that or how bout Richard Marquand?
What makes Lucas so special?

Actually Lucas restoring the Han and Greedo scene back to normal is a strong rumor

i was being sarcastic in a way... i was hinting that i want him to change the movie back to what it originally was.

The Special Edtions were a vast improvement and the changes in the 2004 DVDs can only improve them.

i dont want to start an argument here but sorry jimbo you must not have any taste in movies if you honestly believe that changes were a vast improvement over the originals... you didnt even say it was your opinion! you are saying that THESE MOVIES ARE BETTER!!!

all the changes made were cheesy, obvious, distracting, unncessary fluff to get us back into the theatres to make Lucas more money!
you tell me what the Special Edition got in regards to being a vast improvement over the originals...
cuz i know the originals racked up 6 oscars for ANH, 1 oscar for ESB, ROTJ won a people's choice award for favorite motion picture and ANH holds the number 15 spot on AFI's top 100 movies... now if the SE's were indeed improvements over the originals then please tell me what they accomplished?

What pisses me off more then anything is that Disney labled the DVD original uncut. How dare Disney lie like that. It is a waste and a disgrass to the memory of Walt Disney.

almost how when Lucas decided to release the Star Wars trilogy he called it the Star Wars trilogy... not the SE... so in a way he was kinda lying to us... and it wasnt obvious which version because numerous websites had to double check on that...
whats even worse is that they'll prolly call it the Star Wars trilogy on the box....

only an idiot would deny themselves a movie as great as Who Frammed Roger Rabbit over a couple missing frames

EXACTLY!!!
a couple.... Star Wars was not a couple...

only an IDIOT!! would not care if hundreds of frames were changed in a movie.... ie. Star Wars

Additions to list

American Graffetti
Alterations - digitally enhanced sky

Indiana Jones Trilogy
Alerations - Production equitment and set removal.

shouldnt those go under the thread labeled... alterations made to movies which had no effect on the apparent storyline, characters and or entire film??
just a suggestion..
