The Non-Biased PS3 Thread
Time
wow i love the fanboyism in this thread....

I forgot that xbox360 had a great release... oh wait...
xbox's were overheating, still have problems with backwards compatibility, and even not too long ago fried numerous consoles because of an online update. To this day we get at least 1 or 2 xbox's returned to FutureShop for warranty or repairs.

But im glad everyone here did they're homework.

Second Nintendo hasn't even come out yet!!!
Why are all these little kids proclaiming it the winner when the system hasn't even been released?

Are they that hurt by the absolutly shitty Gamecube they released? And people put down Sony for including a Blu Ray drive because they say they have no need for it. But at least it can play DVD's. Nintendo Wii can't even play DVDs!!

But do you hear people bitching and complaining about how stupid they are? Not at all.

Let's face it.
Sony has been the scapegoat from day one, and those who know nothing about game consoles simply jump on the bandwagon because they have nothing intelligent to say themselves.

Am i saying that Sony is perfect? Fuck no.
Far from it.

But for a company to release a console which (hardware wise) is the most powerful system on the market, is offering free online service similar to xboxlive, is backwards compatible for not 1, but 2 different games systems, is offering a Blu Ray player, and is capable at playing games in HD i really don't see why they're release should go off perfect.

No console release has went off perfect!
No console release will ever go off perfect. People either need to start accepting that, or stop buying them.

Of course everyone on forums all over the world believe themselves to be much smarter when it comes to the video game industry. As if they've worked for Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo and know all there is to know about the video game console market. If so then please feel free to release your own system bug free and charge next to nothing for it.

Until then... i think people should just shut up and enjoy what they fucking get. lol
All i've heard from day of the next gen console release is bitching and complaining on everyside.

You want a perfect gaming system. Get a computer.
Not only should you already have one if your here, but if anything goes wrong with it, the only person you should be bitching at is yourself!

so i guess microsoft must have hired poor american people to do the same thing in north america right?

i remember an xbox360 going for around $15000 US on ebay last year..

there is no conspiracy behind this... its clear that both companies are always going to be having a pissing competition... and when they realize they can't pee that far, its the consumers who get screwed.

unless your one of the lucky ones who puts a system up on ebay...

The difference from VHS to DVD was huge. You cant tell me that it wasn't.
Although HD DVD may have a difference that some may be able to see, many can't.
And once again i say, if DVD picture quality to you is not good enough... then so be it, but your clearly not watching the movie for its content.

Plus im not willing to give into another product after we know DVD is fine as it is.
The more people keep adobting to new technologies, the more these big corporations will keep forcing stuff down our throats.

I suggest to clean your monitors then. Or getting some glasses. Tsss, can´t see the difference between 720x480 and 1920x1080 resolution.... (6 times the resolution!!!)

I must say i agree that you can definatly see a difference. But if your telling me that this difference is worth a) buying new equipment to watch stuff in HD b) repurchasing all your DVDs in HD or c) just paying the prices for the equipment and DVDs alone, your out of your mind.

I don't think the difference is all that great. Then again i do think it all depends on what you base watching movies on. If your watching a movie simply for the picture then i think you need to re-evaluate your priorities. Me personally, i watch for content. So you will never see me buying "XXX" on Blu Ray. However i will end up spluging on a "Schindler's List" laserdisc.

What i think is impressive on these new HD formats is the audio. But thats a whole other story..

Who cares who wrote it? It's awesome-frickin' flick!

negative.
the movie took itself way too seriously and they way they went about comparing it to our world today was just too extreme and in your face.

it was a fun movie but would never deserve a second viewing.
i find it caters towards those who want to watch a smart movie but dont plan on thinking too hard.
so they throw together a movie which contains some sort of intelligent premise.. but then they dum it down so that it caters to even the most level headed viewer.

just my two cents..

10 Sexy Jobs Brought to you by MSN
Time
i think she missed the obvious ones...

pornstar, stripper and the occasional prostitute.
I mean sure, the jobs she listed are professional careers that you can be proud of. But nothing says hard work like letting a business man snort cocain off your ass or perhaps walking the street until morning.

If you ask me, any job that requires clear heals takes the award for sexiest job.

But then again what would she know, she's just a journalist.

I think I could really use some advice
Time
im no doctor but ive had the exact same thing not too long ago...
mine had nothing to do with social interactions... but more interruptions.

turns out it was extreme anxiety...
i had problems with my girlfriend, a best friend of mine, work, school, getting older, family problems.... it all sort of built up...
basically whenever i was alone or trying to relax and just have some alone time, any interruptions would cause severe nausea and shortness of breath...
example.. i would be eating dinner by myself and as soon as the phone rang i would instantly begin to panic..

for those who dont know me, i HATE getting interrupted while im eating...
so i lost a severe amount of weight, lacked sleep, and was constantly sick to my stomach.

in the end i just had to calm down and let things pass...
things ended up getting better with my girlfriend.. my friend ended up leaving town, work mellowed out, and so on...
now im getting my weight back to normal, sleep better than i ever have before and generally am stress free..

i would definatly look into anxiety or panic attacks my friend.
talk with a doctor and get their opinion.

you seem like a good guy and im glad to know that your looking after your health.
oh ya and dont ever be embarrassed about perhaps not being very social or not being a ladies man.
we all have our habits, shortcomings and things which we enjoy doing.

as long as your happy nothing else matters.

wish you the best of luck!

Mods here are mean
Time
im still here...
i check the forums everyday...

but i mean lets all be honest here..
what else is there to say about star wars?

i check the off topic forum most of all. but the problem i see with that part of the forum is that its not as mature as i would like it to be.
im a member on other forums and post much much more often just because everyone seems to have the same mature sense of humor.

as for star wars... unless its about preserving it, what else can you really say.
and lets be honest here. we've gone through so many conversations on here that i dont think there is much left to say. on top of that, i dont even care for the movies as much as i used to what with all the shit thats went on lately with it.

i think the real reason why the boards are so quiet is because we've ran out of things to say.
just my opinion anyway.

believe me there are many things that i would love to talk about on here but i just dont think the mods would find them suitable with the younger crowd around.

i was in economics class in my final year of highschool...

i remember hearing about it before getting into class and laughing. me and my friends were saying "what idiot would fly into the world trade center?"

of course the thought that popped into our heads was a small cessna plane or some kind of small personal aircraft. so when i got into my economics class my teacher sort of ran in and turned the tv on and said nothing to us. everyone in the class was talking about it and some were laughing at the same sort of stuff i was with my friends. when the picture finally came up on the tv my teacher instantly changed the station to CNN. when we saw both buildings burning everyone in the classroom just froze. we couldnt believe what we were seeing. some jackass students continued to laugh and were told to leave the classroom. she was disgusted at the lack of respect at such a given point in time. i'd never seen her so mad before.

i was sitting in the front row and remember looking into my teachers eyes as she watched the tv without ever blinking. she had her mouth covered with her hand as if studying the situation. this was the first time in my life that i was actually kinda worried to see an adult with such concern on their face. as time went on the entire class just sat there glued to the tv. finally the first tower began to collapse. i remember my jaw dropping looking around at everyone else to see if what i was seeing was indeed for real. i had no clue what to do or say. i looked to my teacher for some sort of reassurance that things would be alright. her eyes were full of tears, but she kept them from coming out. i remember the principal coming on the PA system and telling us that school would be cancelled for the day. and as the classroom slowly emptied my teacher said nothing to any of us, but continued to watch the events on CNN. i wanted to say something to her, as we had always had a close relationship and got along rather well. but i just walked out of the room with my head down.

ill never forget that day or the atmosphere of that room when the first tower began to collapse.

trailer

this is all i found...
it angers me so much that they only mention once that they come with the original theatrical versions... which i thought was supposed to be the original selling point of the set.

plus they mention it like half way through the trailer... not to mention all they show is special edition footage...

i hope lucasfilm burns to the ground...
