but i noticed Bossk has great taste!


Gattaca is one of my favorite movies!
and im talking about favorite as being in my top 10...
its amazing how a movie can capture the look and feel of a possible future with no eye candy whatsoever...

there is a paper advertising, and i quote...

not only will we be getting 2 Simpsons DVDs this year but also That 70s show

They happened to release a region 1 dvd (FINALLY!) of the adventures of tin tin cartoons.

What im asking is if anyone has this set of knows anything about it rather than what has been mentioned in the following link.
Maybe even other websites that have had any news on it.

We have only recieved 3 of them at my work and i really want to pick one up but the fact that the dvd is all in french (english soundtrack as well as menus are selectable) really makes me think twice.

I've yet to find any other websites talking about the disc but i was hoping some of the avid dvd collectors on here may have already given this set a shot.

okay.. so i've watched this trailer about 20 times in a row and got out everything i could....

we all know on this board that i am a prequel hater in every sense of the word but i will give you my honest opinion....

first the trailer was amazing! Lucas knows how to make his trailers gives us enough eye candy with also some of the best diaglogue in the movie (which also in a way ruins the movie because then we are left with no memorable lines...) but anyway i thought the trailer was really well done... no arguments there...

I am most definatly excited about this movie and i think it has a chance at becoming the best prequel so far... however... here's where the movie falls apart for me....

1 - acting - Hayden's first line in that trailer could not sound anymore forced (lets be honest about that), SLJ i still cant see as a jedi and always stands out (personal opinion)

2- CGI - although it looks nice you can see they've even used it for floors, walls, furniture... what happened to props or sets? and because of his love of CGI im sure we can expect some sort of cheesy scene like the diner in AOTC.... :gag:

3 - Yoda Fighting again - says it all

4 - Palpatine Fighting - just hope they don't mimic yoda

those are my major complaints about the movie....
im not gonna say im not excited because i am... for what reason... maybe just because i know star wars is done after this... which is a good thing....
do i think the trilogies will mesh together??
even though i havent seen the movie yet.... not at all...
they have a completely different look alltogether (unless Lucas explains why that is in the movie)

so i hope and pray this movie will be enjoyable... i would love to watch one of these prequels on dvd once i buy it.... but in hopes of not overhyping it... im going to play it safe and think the worst...

either way Lucas has finally finished Star Wars

and my dvd collection grows by the day...
but this is just so i can get money for my university tuition...

and when you have work and a girlfriend its hard to find time to get on my computer...
plus i've said all i need to say about star wars...
so i usually just frequent the off topic forum...

and Chaltab i know the music your talking about... it's made me lose interest in that genre of music myself...
thats why im a huge fan of classic rock, old school rap and even retro 80s music..

i personally feel the music scene itself places more emphasis on the way a performer looks now than the sound of their voice or the material of their writing...
shame too

and about jimbo i shall not say a word in hopes of preventing further conflict...

its funny that people blame eminem for the negative/controversial things he says in his songs...
when your not even realizing thats what he wants from you...
the more people who bitch and whine about his songs having a negative impact on kids just helps the guys publicity and therefore makes him do it more and more....

if you dont like what you hear don't listen to it... nobody is forcing you to!

or better yet if you don't want your kids listening to it don't let them...
be more of a parent and teach your kids right from wrong rather than just taking the easy way out and pointing fingers... or better yet making someone a scapegoat...

as Shimraa said if you dont like rap dont post in here... man... is it me or are people just trying to create controversy on here lately...

when clearly i wasnt...

im basing this opinion on what Lucas has given us before in the past compared to how this one is shaping up so far...
1- we have too much CGI... this isnt even a movie anymore... hell pixar might as well do star wars
2- killing off what we were supposed to believe was a main character in the beginning of the movie
3- introducing us to a new villian who we are supposed to hate for some reason or another (nice character developement there lucas)
4- the person who already mentioned the saber battles thing... (talk about milking that idea!)
and finally
5- the fact that the whole prequel story has sucked from the beginning...
your telling me that starting off a series of movies with a bad story will help the 3rd and final movie make sense??

all im saying is that when TPM came out, i knew these movies were doomed...

for anyone who is interested in a historical/tactical first person shooter i present to you THE REGIMENT

i for one am rather excited about this game... sure it doesnt compare to the graphics of Doom 3 or Half Life 2 but we all know that doesnt make a game... cough cough doom cough...

brief synopsis: Based on briefings and scenarios supplied by S.A.S. veterans, The Regiment is a tense, accurate simulation of close quarters combat. Lead four-man teams in assaults on terrorist strongholds. Rescue hostages held at gunpoint. Recreate the deadly climax to the Iranian Embassy Siege of 1980. Fight battles in Britain's corridors of power in a daring rescue at the Houses of Parliament or tackle the nightmare scenario of a terrorist takeover of a subway system.

i would suggest checking out the trailer for the game first...

i find it to be a very interesting game and it will definatly take on a cult following in the game world...

Monday, October 4th 2004 ended a six-year dispute involving Sophia >>Stewart, the Wachowski Brothers, Joel Silver and Warner Brothers.

Stewart's allegations, involving copyright infringement and racketeering, were received and acknowledged by the Central District of California, Judge Margaret Morrow residing.

Stewart, a New Yorker who has resided in Salt Lake City for the past
five years, will recover damages from the films, The Matrix I, II and III,
as well as The Terminator and its sequels.

She will soon receive one of the biggest payoffs in the history of Hollywood, as the gross receipts of both films and their sequels total over 2.5 billion dollars.
Stewart filed her case in 1999, after viewing the Matrix, which she
felt had been based on her manuscript, "The Third Eye," copyrighted in 1981.
In the mid-eighties Stewart had submitted her manuscript to an ad
placed by the Wachowski Brothers, requesting new sci-fi works.

According to court documentation, an FBI investigation discovered that more than thirty minutes had been edited from the original film, in an attempt to avoid penalties for copyright infringement. The investigation also stated that "credible witnesses employed at Warner Brothers came forward, claiming that the executives and lawyers had full knowledge that the work in question did not belong to the Wachowski Brothers."

These witnesses claimed to have seen Stewart's original work and that it had been "often used during preparation of the motion pictures." The defendants tried, on several occasions, to have Stewart's case dismissed, without success.

Stewart has confronted skepticism on all sides, much of which comes
from Matrix fans, who are strangely loyal to the Wachowski Brothers. One on-line forum, entitled Matrix Explained has an entire section
devoted to Stewart. Some who have researched her history and writings are open to her story. Others are suspicious and mocking.

"It doesn't bother me," said Stewart in a phone interview last week, "I always knew what was true."

Some fans, are unaware of the case or they question its legitimacy,
due to the fact that it has received little to no media coverage. Though the case was not made public until October of 2003, Stewart has her own explanation, as quoted at aghettotymz.com:

"The reason you have not seen any of this in the media is because Warner Brothers parent company is AOL-Time Warner... this GIANT owns >95 percent of the media... let me give you a clue as to what they own in the media business... New York Times papers/magazines, LA Times papers/magazines;
People Magazine, CNN news, Extra, Celebrity Justice, Entertainment Tonight , HBO, New Line Cinema, Dreamworks, Newsweek, Village Roadshow... many, many more!... They are not going >>to report on themselves. They have been surpressing my case for years..."

Fans who have taken Stewart's allegations seriously, have found eerie mythological parallels, which seem significant in a case that revolves around the highly metaphorical and symbolic Matrix series. Sophia, the Greek goddess of wisdom has been referenced many times in speculation about Stewart. In one book about the Goddess Sophia, it reads, "The black goddess is the mistress of web creation spun in her divine matrix"

Although there have been outside implications as to racial injustice
(Stewart is African American), she does not feel that this is the
case. This is all about the Benjamins," said Stewart.

"It's not about money with me. It's about justice."

Stewart's future plans involve a record label, entitled Popsilk
Records, and a motion picture production company, All Eyez On Me, in reference to God. "I wrote The Third Eye to wake people up, to remind them why God put them here. There's more to life than money," said Stewart.

"My whole to the world is about God and good and about choice, about spirituality over 'technocracy."

If Stewart represents spirituality, then she truly has prevailed over
the technocracy" represented in both the Terminator and the Matrix, and now, ironically, by their supposed creators.

Stewart is currently having discussions with CBS about a possible
exclusive story and has several media engagements in the near future to nationally publicize her victory.

June 13th 2004. Sophia Stewart's press release read: "The Matrix &
Terminator movie franchises have made world history and have
ultimately changed the way people view movies and how Hollywood does business, yet the real truth about the creator and creation of these films continue to elude the masses because the hidden secret of the matter is that these films were created and written by a Black woman... a Black woman named Sophia Stewart.

But Hollywood does not want you to know this fact simply because it
would change history. Also it would encourage our Black children to realize a dream and that is... nothing is impossible for them to achieve!"

i would love to go off on all my latest video game rants right about now... lol

but i think i will show you what i have stumbled across since then..
i check most of this thread and havent seen anyone post the trailer for the up and coming Episode 3 game...

next if you have played any previous Star Wars games you will notice that they tend to follow the events of the movie to a T...
so therefore i will just point out some possible spoiler material which they have included in the trailer..

again possible SPOILER WARNING!!


- we see anakin and dooku dueling in front of Palpatine in his signature emporor's chair
- we also see anakin using force lighting against fellow jedi Mace Windu (could anakin have killed mace?)
- we see both anakin and obi wan fighting what appears to be General Grevious

so pretty much im sticking to the belief that Anakin is most definatly responsible for the death of mace...
lol looks like Mace aint such a bad mutha f**ka after all...
hehehe
