What do you want to happen in the the rest of the ST?

Honestly, I could not care less what transpires in Episodes VIII and IX.

After watching the juvenile fan fiction trash film The Force Awakens, which was without question the single worst movie I have ever seen, there is nothing in the world which could convince me to watch Episodes VIII and IX.

Lol. Single worst film? Lol.

The real problem with AOTC is that the idea is sound but is ruined by the execution.

Harmy pointed out that the synopsis of this film is probably the strongest in the three prequels: there’s been an assasination attempt on a senator and one jedi is sent to protect her and one is sent to investigate. The jedi and the senator fall in love (which is forbidden) and the other jedi discovers a gigantic military build up operation.

There’s a great story here! But George’s weaknesses in storytelling and direction hamper the whole thing and the execution is lousy.

I do think one shouldn’t nitpick too much with this movie, but unlike other films with glaring plothole issues that you can forgive, AOTC is so boring and badly acted that these plotholes just stare at you like a thousand deer in headlights.

Granted, much of the dialogue between Anakin and Padmé should have been rewritten. However, the story itself was profound, regardless of the execution.

Also, I never watch a Star Wars movie for compelling dialogue or character development. As long as the story is logically coherent, the action sequences are thrilling, the graphics are brilliant, and the film score is fantastic, I am content with the film.

If I needed to watch a film with compelling dialogue and character development, I would watch not watch a Star Wars film.

I think the OT had some pretty good character development, particualrly with Luke and Han, Han over the course of the first film, and Luke over the whole trilogy. The PT has pretty much no development. Obi-Wan is still stoic and boring at the end of Revenge of the Sith, Anakin is still a whiny brat, but now he’s an evil whiny brat, etc. Though, I think they’re all watchable.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe

Marvel has confirmed a new series is on the way:

This exciting new series is an adaptation of the beloved Marvel characters aimed squarely at young adults. This live-action interracial romance follows Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart—but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.

That sounds absolutely horrendous.

The Matrix Revolutions

Perfect ending, impressive action scenes, wagnerian music, intelligent symbolism. Even better than the first one. Only Reloaded is kinda mediocre (the narrative is great but it takes too long to get to the Architect, the most important scene of the trilogy).

But…but…how?

Your favorite movies
Time

My favourite film of all time is a tie between Kill Bill Vol 1 and Pulp Fiction. Coincidently, both directed by Tarantino. After that the list gets all jumbly. I used to have an in order list going up to 30, but then my standards changed and I scrapped it.

Movies I give 10/10:

-Star Wars

-The Empire Strikes Back

-Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn

-Army of Darkness

-Reservoir Dogs

-Kill Bill Vol 2

-Back to the Future

-Birdman

Movies that I give 9/10 to:

-The Big Lebowski

-Shaun of the Dead

-Scott Pilgrim vs The World

-The Revenant

-Back to the Future Part 2

-Jackie Brown

-Inglourious Basterds

-Django Unchained

I’m sure there’s plenty more.

Movies I haven’t seen that may get 10/10

-Fight Club

-2001: A Space Oddesey

-The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

-The Shawshank Redemption

-12 Angry Men

-Seven Samurai

-Goodfellas

-The Silence of the Lambs

-The Usual Suspects

What a long bump.

Smithers' Prequel Fanedits (a Work In Progress)

Smithers said:

My Prequels will be edited into two movies, one being a radical edit of TPM and the other being about a half hour of AOTC followed by a completely reordered version of ROTS.

Phantom Menace Changes/Plans (so far):
-100% remove Jar Jar and the Gungans using rotoscoping and image keying
-no “decoy” subplot
-re-dub young Anakin
-re-dub Neimodians
-re-dub Darth Maul
-remove Darth Sidious
-C3PO gets finished and taken to Coruscant
-remove Yoda as a character (preserving surprises)
-add in Count Dooku
-add more Darth Maul
-introduce the clone army as a solution to Naboo’s invasion
-only two battles during the climax rather than four
-Anakin doesn’t go to war as a ten year old kid
-other little changes

AOTC/ROTS Changes/Plans (so far):
-follow same rules as my TPM edit^
-no forbidden love
-less lightsaber fights
-General Grievous is Darth Maul (re-dubbing and special effects)
-Anakin’s turn is more gradual and understandable
-Anakin doesn’t kill children
-Mace Windu’s lightsaber is blue
-Mace Windu is a complete dick
-Palpatine doesn’t electrocute himself until he becomes a genital wart
-no Jango Fett
-other little changes
-change/add in new versions of Anakin’s nightmares
-Padme doesn’t die
-new ending

Many more major changes to the stories are coming, but I just want to make sure they actually work out before announcing them everything in the list above will be happening for sure.

THE PHANTOM MENACE

 1. Retain Yoda in Episode I. Yoda is the Grand Master of the Jedi Council and one of the few redeeming features of the film. Removing his character would not preserve any revelations.
 2. Personally, I like the idea of Anakin destroying the Droid Control Ship at such a young age, a feat which demonstrates his abilities as a pilot.
 3. Do not re-dub Darth Maul.
 4. Keep Darth Sidious.

ATTACK OF THE CLONES & REVENGE OF THE SITH.

I dislike all of these changes:

 1. No, keep Padmé’s death and merely remove the line, “She has lost the will to live.” Her death is poetic: Padmé dies as Anakin is reborn as Darth Vader.
 2. The Jedi Order is a monastic order of warrior monks, so the forbidden love theme makes sense.
 3. No, keep Padmé’s death and merely remove the line, “She has lost the will to live.”
 4. As a Jedi Master, Mace Windu’s lightsaber should be green, not purple or blue.
 5. No, keep all of the lightsaber duels except for Yoda’s.
 6. No, General Grievous should be a different character.
 7. No, Jango Fett is a bad ass.

Well that’s just like, your opinion man…

Seriously though, stop phrasing your opinions as facts, you just sound really butthurt and stupid.

Madness.

You lost me at “story is pretty poor”

Dr. No gets an A from me

Well, it’s more leaning towards a B, which translates as a 7/10, which means it’s good, but not great. Maybe I should go back to out of ten ratings.

Ghostbusters II: B

I went into this film with fairly low expectations, and was pleasantly surprised. The acting and characters were all just as fun as they were in the first film. Though, the story was pretty convoluted.

The Dictator: C+

It was dumb, rude, obscene, and racist, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy myself while watching it.

Die Another Day: D

For the first hour or so, this film was just bad, and the song was the worst thing in the film*, but as soon as the ice palace was introduced, it became unbearably terrible.

Skyfall: B+

I really enjoyed this film, it had good acting, good characters, great direction and cinematography, and an interesting story. The ending was a bit anticlimactic, but I enjoyed the film nonetheless.

Army of Darkness: A+

This film was just so much fun, and all the effort put in is definitely visible on screen. If this is the worst of the Evil Dead trilogy, I can’t wait to see the best.

Dr No: B-

It dragged a lot in the second act, most characters are underdeveloped, and the story is pretty poor, but overall the good outweighed the bad.

Back to the Future: A

Aside from a couple of minuscule flaws that barely even count as detractors, this film is pretty much perfect.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail: A-

It goes without saying that the film is hilarious, but what surprised me the most was how well made it was. All of the costumes and sets were really visually appealing, and perfectly conveyed Medieval England. I really enjoyed it.

*Actually, I gave up on the film as soon as James Bond uttered the words “Merely a flesh wound” to John Cleese’s Q.

Star Wars: Episode VII to be directed by J.J. Abrams **NON SPOILER THREAD**

Hi,

Sorry about This confusing post but I just need to know This. If Leia Organa and Luke are siblings and Han Solo has had a child with Leia named Kylo Ren, how in the world Darth Vader would be a grandfather to Kylo Ren? As in the movie Kylo Ren talked to the damaged helmet of Darth Vader and referred him as a grandfather. If This post is a spoiler I’m terribly sorry.

I refer to my mum’s father, who is also my uncle’s father, as my grandfather.

What Didn't You Like About ROTS?
Time

I like:

-The opening camera shot, which is visually nice, but still not very special, as it is all CGI.
-All the music in general
-Grievous’s introduction, with the cool music, sadly once he starts talking everyone laughs.
-Palpatine goading Anakin into killing Dooku
-Anakin killing Dooku
-The banter when Anakin, Obi-Wan and Palpatine are trapped in the ray shields
-“Another happy landing”
-Anakin finding out about Padmé’s pregnancy
-Grievous meeting with The Emperor
-The panning shot of Coruscant, to Padmé’s apartment
-The opera scene
-The wookiee battle on Kashyyk
-Obi-Wan saying goodbye to Anakin
-The buildup to the Obi/Grievous fight, not the actual fight
-Palpatine revealing himself
-The entirety of Order 66, child murder included
-Anakin killing the Separatists
-The final three-ish minutes of the Mustafar duel, where they are finally visibly getting tired
-The immolation scene
-The birth of Vader, up until the “NOOOO!”
-Padmé’s funeral
-The Death Star construction scene
-Leia on Alderaan, and Luke on Tatooine

Wow, I like way more than I thought. There is as much bad things though, and they are more substantial.
