Diamonds Are Forever - I love it!

I watched that for the first time today.

Diamonds Are Forever (1971) - 6/10

I really enjoyed the action in this film, and the production values were fantastic. I especially liked how much the editing had improved since Thunderball, and the lack of jump cuts compared to that film. The plot, like most Bond films, was pretty stupid, and the villain wasn’t very threatening. Tiffany Case was terrible, completely useless, even Tatiana Romonova had the honour of killing Klebb, Case didn’t do anything. I thought Connery was just okay, and pretty visibly disinterested throughout, but I enjoyed the film anyway.

I don’t like Superman: The Movie either.

Pushing aside all my issues with Clark’s characterization, I still hate everything pertaining to Luthor, Otis, and that dumbass ending.

It’s baffling that it’s a 4 stars on RogerEbert.com. Man of Steel is leaps and bounds ahead of the first superman.

If you don’t like the first Donner Superman, that’s fine. But saying Man of Steel is better? 'Em is fighting words!

Man of steel is more pretentious, has horrible over the top acting, and no characterization whatsoever (surprisingly enough) all IMO

I thought Reloaded was pretty great, actually. Revolutions is where it all fell apart.

I think they’re more or less on par. I think I’d rather watch Revolutions because it’s at least sort of fun. Reloaded is one of the dullest films I’ve ever seen.

That’s crazy. I think you have the two movies mixed up. The biggest sin of Revolutions is that most everything outside of the Matrix is boring, and almost the whole movie takes place outside of the Matrix.

I actually think that up until Neo escapes from Mobil Ave, the film is pretty good, but it all goes downhill from there. Both Reloaded and Revolutions suck.

Firstly, it’s cheesy and I can’t take it seriously at all (much like the whole film), and also, it’s not like James Bond is a celebrity, and M16 is an undercover organisation. It would only humiliate Bond to the M16, and they know how many women he beds anyway. It would make practically no difference to Bond or M16.

It actually would in the early 1960s. If an agent were caught on film with a Russian woman and then committed suicide after murdering her MI6 would’ve been embarrassed globally.

Ah okay then, thanks for clarifying. No I’m not being sarcastic.

The plot to release a sex tape of Bond to the public was particularly stupid.

No explanation? What are you Darth Id? It’s a pretty brilliant scheme. It would humiliate Bond and humiliate M16.

Dr No (1962)

From Russia with Love (1963)

In both films Bond is completely one dimensional and boring, the love interests are horrendous, especially Tatiana Romanova, the villains in both are flat and not at all fun to watch, particularly Red Grant, and the pacing for both is practically non-existent. I just don’t get the love!
