So what do you plan on doing with Dooku in The Battle Begins?
So what do you plan on doing with Dooku in The Battle Begins?
Ghostbusters (1984)
37 Balls.
Out of 100? Blasphemy.
Oh yeah, and the score for both of the films was great. I’ve been humming the main themes for both all day.
I quite like the main themes in most of the movies. The Iron Man Three theme is one of my faves. I also like the theme that plays over the ending credits of Age of Ultron (when they show that statue).
I just realised that I listed Man of Steel as a movie that I liked in the first post. Man, past-me had no clue. Suffice to say, I do not think that way anymore.
Alien 3 (1992)
People bag on this film all the time, but I still think it’s pretty good. It has great acting, a passable story, some great suspense, and characters that I like. Ripley is further developed, and once more Sigourney Weaver is outstanding, I’d probably say that she gives her best performance as Ripley in this film. Clemens and Dillon are other standouts, and are both likable and deep characters. The Xenomorph is made threatening again, after being watered down in Aliens. The deaths of Newt, Hicks, and Bishop are a common complaint, but I think it was a good idea, and it introduces the theme of no one being safe, which is seen throughout the films, as all the characters die, including Ripley. It does have flaws, like being a slightly worse version of the original films story, and some plot holes and contrivances, but I really like it regardless. Also, I’m reviewing the theatrical cut, I’ve yet to see the extended Assembly Cut.

Alien Resurrection (1997)
Another film that I think gets an undeserved rap. It’s the worst of the Alien series, but I don’t think it’s bad, merely flawed. The story is ridiculous, and the decision to go for an all out dark comedy doesn’t really work, but I think this movie comes out pretty good. Like in all the Alien movies, I love the cast of characters, in particular Johner, played hilariously over the top by Ron Perlman in this, and Call, the reluctant auton, who is really the centre of the film. Winona Ryder’s performance gets picked on, but I think she did a pretty good job. The premise of the movie is gold, and the best possible way for Ripley to reappear. The concept of the Xenomorph’s DNA fusing with her own fits the series well and gives an opportunity for her character to develop beyond just being a copy of the original Ripley. So yeah, I like this film a lot.

I think all four Alien movies are pretty good, and no matter how poor they can get at times, they never reach the rock bottom lows of either Alien vs. Predator movies. Jesus Christ, were they bad.
It’s so weird comparing 90s pictures of Jason Mewes and pictures of him nowadays. Those drugs really did a number on him.
I watched Civil War again because my brother got it on DVD, and I must say, everytime I watch the film ilike it a bit more than the time before. I can safely call Zemo my favourite MCU villain after Loki.
Civil War might be the dumbest Marvel so far.
I really don’t get the hate for Iron Man Three. I mean, I get some of it, like the various plot holes and weak villain motivations, but other stuff that gets brought up, like the Mandarin twist, Tony’s PTSD, and the fact that Iron Man is barely in it, I don’t.
What about that horrible twist do you not get the hate for?
It’s kind of clever?
And here I was thinking it was incredibly disappointing.
Well now you know.

I want it to be set hundreds of years after XI, showing the results of the first nine films on the galaxy. A few references to past films, but not going overboard (I.E. having the main characters be Luke’s great great great great grandson). But if the film could be avoided entirely, I’d like that too (like that’d ever happen).

As if anyone ever watched Star Wars and Empire then said ‘yeah, I’m fine with this cliffhanger ending forever’
I would’ve preferred that over Death Star 2: Electric Boogaloo, Palpatine’s Saturday morning cartoon method of proselytization, the Empire’s finest troops succumbing like bitches to stone age teddy bears, and Vader’s “get-out-of-jail-free card” redemption.
All right we get it. Many people hate Jedi, like forty percent of the posts on this website are about why it’s bad. Most of the Internet knows that information by now.
I don’t hate it. I just dislike it with a steamy, romance novel passion.
And yet you gave it a six out of ten right? To me, a six out of ten means that it’s good, or at least above average.
Here’s an awkward video from the GOUT release day 10 years ago:
Oh yeah, I saw that when looking for reviews of the GOUT. I never got why they just bought it and then smashed it within minutes. It don’t make no sense.
I bloody hate memes. And I hate how Haseo uses them in every second post.
I realised today that 9 months have gone by in 2016, and I’ve only watched each Star Wars film once. Ever since I got the box set in October 2014, I’ve watched each film at least 4 times a year (I had seen Star Wars plenty of times before this, but I gradually stopped watching my VHS copies). I need to start watching them regularly again.
Battle Royale (2000)
Man, that was a really good movie. Good social satire, likable and complex characters, and exciting, thrilling action scenes. It had flaws, sure, like the fact that there are too many characters for the audience to care when each dies, which it seems the movie was going for, and the fact that it makes no sense for the characters to not know of Battle Royale, when it’s been going on for years in this universe, and how it really dragged towards the end, and some other stuff, but overall, this movie’s really good. It’s kind of like The Hunger Games if it took chances.

I’ll be curious if you find …New York to be boring, because then you’ll see that …LA is a beat for beat remake.
Yeah, I’ve heard that, which is why is suspect I may not like the film as much after viewing Escape from New York.
Escape from L.A. (1996)
I’ve yet to see the first one, so my opinion on this may change after I view it, but I thought this film was pretty good. It was cheesy as hell and dated beyond belief (90s computer generated effects are always hilarious to watch), but it made up for its flaws by being charming, hilarious and a really fun movie to watch with friends. Kurt Russell was hilariously over the top in his macho delivery of lines, and it was also nice to see Steve Buscemi, Stacy Keach, Cliff Robertson, Pam Grier and Bruce Campbell in supporting roles. I thought it was quite good and I had an absolute blast watching it.

What is Love (1993) - Haddaway
Little Green Bag (1969) - George Baker Selection
Bad (1987) - Michael Jackson
Don’t Stop Me Now (1978) - Queen
Hardcore Henry (2015)
Yes, it was far from perfect, a little rough around the edges, but I am a fourteen year old boy, and deep down, I really just want to see some truly hardcore action, and this film delivered that wholeheartedly.

Hammy But Fun
Or, alternatively,
Hammy But
Man, finally I got a Lurker Name based on something I said!
The Thing (1982)
What an amazing movie this was! Everything, from the fantastic practical effects, to the chilling score, to the simple yet iconic storyline, to the great acting and fun characters, everything worked. I really don’t have too much to say, I can’t fault this movie.
10/10
They Live (1988)
I loved this movie in a similar way that I loved Evil Dead II, in that it was so charming and irreverent it became a great movie in it’s own right. The premise was great, I’ve heard many a conspiracy theory like it, and the acting was hammy, but fun. That’s actually a good way to describe the film. Hammy but fun.
8/10
District 9 (2009)
I really liked it, but it didn’t live up to my expectations. The first half of the film was borderline perfect, with it’s great, original concept, subverting of cliches, and fun and interesting characters. The second half was disappointing, as the film forayed into a rather generic (yet still very fun) shoot-em-up brawl between the main character and several faceless goons. I feel that if the whole film had been in the same vein as the second half, I would have liked it more, as I wouldn’t have been as disappointed, because of the stellar first half. But Sharlto Copley’s main character was excellent and the story was very good, and overall the good bits far outweigh the bad bits.

What’s sad is the studio was planning that even as H20 was being shot.
Is that why Michael tried to take his mask off? Because it was another dude?
Unless you’re into pain, skip the next movie in the series entirely, and pretend H20 is the final end of Mikey. 😉
I plan on it. I’ve only seen the bit where Busta Rhymes electrocutes Michael, and that was enough for me to figure out it wasn’t my kind of movie.
