Anyways can people kindly get back on topic?
Nah we’re good.

Well it’s not like the MCU movies have great plots or anything. The Winter Soldier has a cool spy espionage plot, and Civil War has a nice personal story, but the rest have bland plots. I watch MCU movies for their dialogue, action scenes and talented acting, not groundbreaking movies.
Yeesh, that part does suck though.
But the sobriety will be worth it if you stick to it. That much I know.
Yeah, I’ve been sober for 15 years, and I feel young and fresh.
Very.
Why Do MARVEL’s Movies Look Ugly?
A good video that I agree with very much.
That is the biggest probpem with the MCU. The bland music at least is kind of fun to listen to, but I’ve never liked the cinematography in the MCU.
They’re alright. Women seem to dig them to an unreasonable degree. I’m definitely not down with that awfully messy process of biting the ends off and using them as a straw with a cup of coffee…
One of my favourite things in life is sucking warm milk through a Tim Tam.
I just had a Tim Tam. Not sure if you can get them outside of Australia, but they are delightful.
The Evil Dead (1981) – ★★★1/2
Evil Dead II (1987) – ★★★1/2
I re-watched these, and I have to say that I liked II more this time around, but I can’t bring myself to change my rating due to my nitpick about the abridged recap being too different and feeling rushed. I want to fanedit the recap to be more like the original plan, using footage from the first film to recap.
Army of Darkness (1992) – ★★★1/2
After re-watching the first two I finally got to seeing this one. I watched the director’s cut (original version; pre theatrical release), but I’ve also looked at some of the differences between the three different cuts for some reference in hindsight.
Possible SPOILER talk:
I definitely want to fanedit this one. I’ll want to replace Linda in the opening with footage from Evil Dead II, and replace “I’m not that good,” with the theatrical re-shoot line “Good, bad, I’m the guy with the gun.” It would be nice if I could use the end of Evil Dead II in the beginning of Army of Darkness, but that will be a more difficult task; I’ll at least want to try it, though.
I also want to create an alternate ending, since the original ending can seem unsatisfying, and the theatrical ending is a joke.
Using the original ending, I’ll cut out the first ‘fifth drop’ that he takes in the cave (maybe also shortening the dream montage to remove what is probably sounds of the apocalypse), and when he awakens and leaves the cave, it will abruptly cut to credits before his facial expression reacts to the sight of post-apocalyptic England.
That way the feel of the first two films’ endings will be kept as it is in the original ending, but it won’t be an unsatisfying, unresolved ending. He simply got back to his own time.
Now I really want to go back and re-watch these. I watched them all earlier this year and loved every one of them. Since Ash vs. Evil Dead season two isn’t living up to the promise of the first episode maybe it’s time to go back to the classics. I also didn’t hate the remake, as many people did (I actually prefer it to AVED).
Haven’t been watching any of the clips because I want it to be a surprise when I watch it (hopefully soon enough). Anyway, loved your first two ridiculous edits and hope this one lives up. Good luck!
As would I.
At the end of Felicity Jones’ interview with Jimmy Fallon tonight they played what I’m fairly certain is the first clip we’ve seen of the movie. It’s from the shootout with the stormtroopers in the Mos Eisleyesque location. Giacchino’s music is very recognizable. My brain lit up with excitement.
I’m sure it’ll be up online soon if it isn’t already.
ETA: Here it is:
That feels just like old skool Star Wars. Love it. Can’t wait.
Penis Flakes are the most nutritious breakfast a pubescent boy could want! I eat Penis Flakes every morning!
Almost as good as EyeHoles.
Oooooohwee!

Lovely. Absolutely lovely.
I hope they’ve made Rosh less whiny this time.
Oh wait, were you talking about the books?
The ones by jeffery brown? Yes!
How old are you exactly?
A kid and a big fan of star wars. Please do not say anything rash.
So, uh, I don’t think I’m the youngest forum poster anymore. I’m almost disappointed.
I hope they’ve made Rosh less whiny this time.

They’ve revamped Jedi Academy?
I Googled it and the closest I could find to “new” Jedi Academy novels was a children’s book series from 2014.
EDIT: It looks like this, so I highly doubt that this si what he’s talking about.
Actually I think that is what he’s talking about, as according to Wookieepedia, the “original trilogy” of books is over, and they’ve started another series with a new author and characters
What is this thread?
American Pie (1999)
I thought I’d despise this, as it had all the things I hate about traditional comedies (crude gags, poor visual aesthetic, overused pop songs, misogyny, and the token “sad moment” in which the characters talk to each other about their wrongdoings), but I didn’t hate it.
Neither did I like it.
5/10
You can add the purest and cleanest water to mud, but all you’ll get is more mud. You can also take the sicks and rocks out, but it’s still mud.
I wouldn’t say the prequels are mud. They’re more like, stale bread.
This is how I’d rank the DCEU so far:
- Don’t give a shit
- BvS was one of the worst films I’ve ever seen
Agree with you 120% on #1.
As for #2, I’ll take your word for it.
That’s a wise move.
What makes General Grievous one of the worst characters to be associated with Star Wars ever?
His name
His voice
His cough
His “spider arms”
His patented windmill lightsaber attack
His utter dearth of real characterization
The amount of screentime he has in TCW
All of the above
I choose 8. Grievous is my most hated character in the SW universe. I would have added in “When people defend ROTS by saying Grievous was cool.”
I finally watched Suicide Squad, and it was a lot better than I thought it would be. I absolutely hated both Man of Steel and Dawn of Justice, but I didn’t despise this movie. It wasn’t good, but I enjoyed myself while watching it. The characters were sort of fun, and I liked the style of the movie. It was fine.

You don’t have to be rude!
I was just asking if you were going to be like every other poster who recieves the MySpleen invite and is never heard from again.
Hooray for a eight month late reply!
It’s not a Blu-Ray, but I just bought a two disc DVD of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. My local DVD shop only sells the single disc version, which is really annoying. I bought that version a few weeks back (thankfully it was really cheap), and was peeved, because on the movie commentary, Kevin Smith keep referring to bonus features that the one disc version didn’t include. For a second hand store, the case and disc quality was super good, and I’m glad I made the purchase.
