I’m not positive, but I think it sometimes happens on accident due to some forum software thing. I feel like it has happened to me once or twice. That’s why I’m asking him to proofread. With that said, he does it all the time, so maybe it’s him and not us. 😉

And in case it wasn’t clear, I didn’t add anything to that quote block.

I think it’s me. Sorry about that.

Honestly I’m not too picky about colors. I can deal with the Blu Ray colors with some slight blanket adjustments (specified by JawsTDS. Basically a gamma increase, a reduction in red shadows and blue highlights. They don’t look actuate to how they looked in the 70s and 80s but it at least makes them look pleasing to the eyes… Although obviously legitimate thorough “accurate” shot by shot correction what’s done by adywan is great too), But that just looked awful.

But I have a hard time believing you remember what the colors looked like in theaters 20 years ago.

I’m referring to the VHS sets.

Is the 97 really that red right there?
Jeez. And here we thought the Blu Ray colors were bad. Even the sky is red!

All the home video transfers of the 97 look like garbage color-wise, but supposedly the prints looked great.

No, they don’t. They look like GARBAGE. Adawyn’s looks amazing in comparison. Trust me, I sat through the grossness of the fake(SE) versions of the Star Wars, ESB and ROTJ. They ALL sucked.

Well, I was 8 when I saw the SE in theaters (7 for ANH - ESB was my birthday present), so I couldn’t tell you how they looked, but supposedly the prints were timed to Lucas’ private Technicolor archival prints (at least for ANH) and by all the accounts I’ve heard, the colors were great.
We must be rembering different versions.

So far I’d say the original version is best, even from a vfx standpoint because it goes by so fast you don’t notice what it looks like. In the SE sure the speeder looks better but the way it moves is awkward and it’s slower (at least it seems slower) so i notice how bad it looks more.

I agree.

I have a little “philosophical” question. What would you consider to be “restored original” version?
In other words, what is OK and what isn’t.

  • In the early episodes every episode had different opening credits. This was changed for the syndicated versions, every episode has the same opening credits. These “new” opening credits are on the Blu-ray set, the DVD set has the “old” credits. Is it worth changing?
  • in many, and I mean MANY Enterprise shots thanks to the blue spill problem some parts of the ship get transparent. Should it be fixed (at least in the cases for which we have the original blue screen shots)?
  • some of the wrong effects were fixed in the syndication version - good example is The Naked Time, the shots of the planet. Should it be “fixed” to the “unfixed” version?

I say restore.

I’m glad to announce version 4.4 of the project will be resumed!

For the special scene that Duracell is very excited for, I have been forced to make some adjustments because of many issues.

I now in the fashion of Adywan, have built a Vision costume, purchased a Wanda doll, and will get onto filming in the next few days. Samples will be posted in the morning!

Thank you for everyone’s continued support and enthusiasm.

Where will this be when finished?

Also, I feel like an idiot. I just got something cleared up. Kathleen Kenedy isn’t against releasing the unaltered trilogy of Star Wars. She’s against further altering the special editions. THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULDN’T TRUST INTERNET ARTICLES!!
