I hate to say it but it’s been nearly a year and I still can’t get a copy of this release. I saw Aladdin at Greater Union cinemas in Civic, Canberra when it was released and fell in love with it. To this day I have the original poster up in my computer room along with a collection of Aladdin toys, characters etc. The ‘release’ ins’t accessible so be sure to reply with ideas other than Blutopia. 😃

Honestly, I would prefer they lay off the Skywalker saga for a long while. Perhaps they could pick it up again someday, with something like a 100 year timegap.
Sounds perfect. I can’t imagine that time gap would match the real one though. I think 50 would be decent compromise, but I don’t think the corporate machine could wait that long.
I wouldn’t call it the “Skywalker saga.” It may have focus on the Skywalker family, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s about them. The originals were its own thing, the prequels told the backstory of the characters from the classic trilogy, and the sequels are about new characters, while the original characters still have a major role in the films, since we want to see where they are, not to mention them being galactic heroes. If Lucasfilm decides to make Episodes X, XI and XII, I think it would be a nice Segway from Episode IX to the fourth trilogy by having Rey and Ben lead off with their potential kids. Yes, I do think Kylo Ren and Rey will, in a way, end up together. Those are just my thoughts.
I agree 100% with not calling it the Skywalker Saga, hence why I never refer to it as such. This makes me wonder why you quoted me here.
I very much think that the Skywalker Saga is definitely over after IX. However I don’t think it will be the end of numbered episodes. And by that I mean, I think we’ll see the start of new “sagas” with their own numberings.
I have been considering the possibility of numbered sagas, an idea I got from the title of an early draft of ANH (like my username).
I think they should make some movies, take a break, make some more, take a break. I don’t think they gave Solo enough time. They should have stuck with the Christmas releases.
Blame Disney. Lucasfilm, like any sane person wanted a December release date, but Disney want to keep their promise to shareholders that their purchase of Lucasfilm would have broken even by this financial quarter.
I believe Dave Filoni had some trouble making The Clone Wars when it first debuted, due To George Lucas interfering. The Clone Wars movie that came out in theaters is just four episodes of the show mashed together, because they were being rushed by George because he wanted a movie in theaters.
The Clone Wars was only good because the two were working together. Without Filoni, you get the Prequels. Without Lucas, you get Rebels. Honestly, I’d take the former over the latter, but I think we can all agree TCW outdoes them both.
If they do take a five year break they should get rid of Kathleen, restore majority of the EU, promote Pablo as creative director, redo the prequels and restore and release the OUT. If anyone has a problem with this please pm me instead of derailing the thread.
