Custom Album Art for Mp3s and such
Time
I might be random here, but I'd just like to share some thoughts and designs that I do for fun from time to time... having a sort of hobby in graphic design, I am usually unsatisfied with official CD Case designs from mainly film score/soundtrack (being the primary genre of music I listen to 80% of the time...)

So, I have to ask, does anyone else re-design album covers to CDs/DVDs for Mp3 players and such things?

Here are some of my re-designs to film soundtracks...

Fantasy novels being Made into movies for big and small screen
Time
As much as I like the Narnia books... the first film was utter cheesy nonsense and felt very watered down. Nothing original in that flick what-so-ever.
Most of the acting was sub-par, and most of the ideas "brought to life" on screen were poor average-Hollywood decisions. So, I am not looking forward
to another average-made Narnia. They are in pre-production of the third Narnia film as well and that has a different director attached to it, so I hope it will
be a little better than Andrew Adamson's cheesiness.

And the Hobbit is hardly being made, unfortunately... but soon... there will be something happening!

How to scan printed stuff
Time
hi there. I know this question is really really random. But, trying to find articles of this kind has made me unsuccessful in this manner.
So, with no where else to post, I post here.

I hope someone has could tell me how to scan a printed page and get those blasted CMYK (or whatever) printed dots off!
I don't know if it's possible, but if it is, I'd really like to read a good guide for it. Either by using photoshop, or otherwise.

Thanks!

Recycled Prequel Music!?
Time
Hey, did anyone notice that in Episodes II and III there's a pretty fair amount of recycled music from Episode I?

The biggest portion of which you can hear in the geonosis fight on Ep2... and the parts at the beginning sequence in Ep3...

I noticed this a long time ago, but never posted it. Now that I just saw Episode II again (for nostalgic reasons... don't panic!)
It bugged me. But, considering the film isn't worth new music, it's ok in that respect. What do you people say? How did this
come to be, anyway? Were they trying to make it feel like a TV serial with the same kind of music over and over?

Gah!

It would be fantastic if you'd help me out...
Time
Hi guys... you probably remember me for doing those "Lord of the Rings" Book-Version DVDs...

As some, if not, none of you know... Youtube killed off my video account, thus destroying all the
humorous "dubbs" that I was posting. So, now I'm back, and would very much like to get a bit more views
so that a few more users can find me again... the dubbs are really quite hilarious...

most of them are from the "STAR WARS" sextology.

I also have some of my "actual" movies I make, but you don't need to watch those...

I'd like to ask very kindly, if you'd be so nice to check those out. I'd appreciate it very much.

thanks.

The trailer was a big "Hey, fans! See? This is a rated-R movie! Watch it!"

what I really HATE about it, is the typical junky teen slasher/zombie/horror setting.
The ALIEN and the PREDATOR are far to COOL to be used as a replacement for psychos and zombies.

Another thing that's boring me is the actors. They all look alike. When I watch those movies I always have a feeling that the same actress is playing again and again in all those movies. They are so unrecognizable.

Whatever you may talk about Alien 4, which was kind of bizzare, but they got a bunch of charismatic actors. Almost all of the mercenary group got a personality and you could think: Wow, now that's a bad guy! I bet they stand a chance against aliens!".
With the cheerleaders and a band of jocks that appear to be in this film, I don't think so.

I'm not a fan of the military in the film either. This should have been done in space... honestly. Maybe finally showing what the alien planet is like... but thankfully with directors such as these, I'm glad it's not that way.

Heath Ledger as The Joker (new pic)
Time
I'm not too happy. It's probably a bit TOO real... I'd take it a step further into the fantastic. My filmmaking joker-comic-to-film philosophy is: it should be real, but not so real that just anyone can smear make-up on himself and call himself the Joker.

As is shown in the picture.

I STILL think Heath is a stupid choice... the guy who's playing Harvey Dent looks more like the Joker than Heath.

"May 20th 2007"

silence, followed by a very low bass drum hit with the text slowly coming closer...

"Starcraft 2 announced"

and then expecting us to go crazy and say "OMGOMGOMGOMG! I can't WAIT!! NO WAY! WOW!!!! HOLY CRAP, MAN! STARCRAFT!"

because I won't.

hmm, you sound like a very pleasant person, good to know you're around here to liven things up. i actually wasn't expecting a OMGOMG OMG response, i was expecting shock and happiness from people that actually LIKE Starcraft. And no i wasnt makin it all dramatic on purpose there was no music in my head at the time. go back to the star wars bud. Thanks for posting, wasnt very constructive or nice, but hey thanks for coming out. i hope to have a few more constructive comments tomorrow from some of this forums better posters.

and just so you know cause perhaps you didnt know it but starcraft was like Star Wars to any fan of the RTS format, its considered one of the best games in history, and near perfect, so the announcement of its sequel after 9 years of anticipation is pretty big.

Sorry about that, pal. You probably know the multitudes of idiotic people writing stupid and highly aggravating things somewhat in that caliber; and me, being incredibly fed up about it, made me say something about it. Please forgive my lack of humanity, thank you.

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
Time
Pokemon... ahh, good times, man. 5th grade in 2000 and it was crazy! I'm only a fan of the first batch (1-151)... and find the second slew of monsters acceptable (152-251)...

but these new ugly ugly designs for the monsters (the Ruby/Sapphire/Diamond/Pearl generations) are just unimaginative and downright ugly designs! Even the whole design of the game has been made to something neo-futuristica, compared to the homey, yet, also pretty high tech and friendly older versions (Yellow, Blue, Red).

All I can say is, when the newer Pokemon games came out (sure I like them because of their game upgrades and graphic changes), I stopped. Heck, I pretty much stopped the whole Poke-craze right when it was 2001.

My point is... the quality of the game-design decreased and the visual design of these new monsters are absurd. That's my main problem.

I could go on and on and on, but I will not... mainly because I'm tired.

Don't get me wrong, I like the games... they are amazing and really addictive! But the whole marketing slew (post-2000 due to nostalgia factors) is just annoying. I'm glad it's cooled down.
