STAR WARS - Enhanced HD & O-OT HD Packs... some suggestions...
Time
hi!

what if they released (like hell they will) the STAR WARS O-OT in it's most pristine High Def form... no alterations what-so-ever.
with all the bonus materials in the world Somehow... including Deleted Scenes, a super big Making-Of, and all kinds of good stuff...
--including: isolated score, and four commentary tracks -- Director & Producer - Cast - Composer - Post-Production Crew

and then also released a revitalized OT with enhanced effects! Here's what I was thinking...

--Episode IV---
- Better Jabba...
- more characters at Mos Eisley... alot more.. and better CGI!
- Finally PT-Quality LightSabers!!! FINALLY!! PLEASE!
- totally new, totally CGI, Episode III quality, Battle of Yavin!
Including alot more X-Wings, alot more TIE fighters and alot more action!
- maybe some wide-shot CGI doubles for the duels... to liven it up a little.
- A better and more original Death Star explosion

--Episode V---
- totally new, totally CGI, Episode III quality, Battle of Hoth!
Including 6 more AT-ATs, a thousand more Rebel Troops, and a thousand Snow Troopers
duking it out at Hoth with more Snow Speeders and cooler angles and shots!
- CGI Yoda (tough one)
- Re-filmed Ian McDarmid Emperor shot... his face is just too fat and too close-up in
the OT DVDs...
- PT-Quality Lightsabers
- CGI space stuff! It would rock...
- maybe some wide-shot CGI doubles for the duels... to liven it up a little.

--Episode VI---
- CGI Jabba (tough as well)
- PT-Quality lightsabers
- some new duel footage with doubles (CGI-face-transfer) to
seriously liven the duel up... Luke is now a fully fledged Jedi (sort of) come on!
also would show Vader's capability for doing some fast moves as well
- totally new, totally CGI, Episode III quality, Battle of Endor (space)!
This time alot more chaotic and huge (with more shots and scenes)!
- A better and more original Death Star explosion
- CGI AT-STs... probably.
- CGI Yoda!
- As much as I hate that Hayden Anakin shot at the end... at least
re-film it...

those are my ideas for a new STAR WARS edition... I'd really love to see that stuff
being realized... anyone have anything to say?

FAN EDIT REQUEST THREAD - Post your dream Fan Edits Here!
Time
When KING KONG comes out on DVD I'm severely re-cutting that...

my butt hurt after THREE FREAKING HOURS!! The old 1933 KING KONG was just as good and was 2.5 hours SHORTER!!!

I'm turning KONG into a 1 hour 40 minute movie... and see how it goes... and I'll try making Kong more ferocious....
somehow....

woops... sorry this is a wish thread...

I wish to see....

STAR WARS I, II, III, IV, V, and VI all cut together into ONE FILM.

LOTR Trilogy... all three into one film....

hey, by the way... I re-cut Matrix 2 and 3 and merged them together... the time of the compiled cuts is 2 hours and 40 minutes!
yeah I really cut stuff out of Reloaded...

I don't know what else I'd like to see...

Lord of the Rings - FOTR - The Book-Cut (Released)
Time

Finally! I have completed the LOTR trilogy with crafting the FOTR Book-Cut!

The changes that exist are few… and these I will point out…

I re-cut the film as close as I wanted it… to the book… obviously I couldn’t have ALL
of the stuff from the book because I would need extra footage.

The film begins, not by a prologue but with Bilbo writing his book… it all happens in sequence
until when Gandalf trots to Minas Tirith and looks at the old scrolls… then we see an un-cut and un-
narrated LAST ALLIANCE battle. I took the liberty of putting in “17 Years Later” when the Ringwraith
asks directions from a weary hobbit (Farmer Maggot?).

It goes in order but there are no Gandalf/Saruman sub-plot intercuts… so now we, the audience
don’t know what happened to him!

The film keeps going (and yeah I couldn’t take out the annoying Arwen thing… it wouldn’t work)
and we stop right at when the Ringwraiths meet their (temporary) doom at the ford of Bruinen.

Disc 2 is inserted, and we fade in with Gandalf sitting near Frodo’s bed. When Frodo asks him what happened
Gandalf recalls the FULL and UNCUT sub-plot of the Saruman “incident”.

I put in the Aragorn/Arwen conversation seen in TTT (where he’s about to leave with the Fellowship)
into this Book-Cut FOTR… I know it’s not in the book… but I was excited about that idea! Hehe…

I also re-graded a bunch of stuff! Because I thought it would be nice to look at things differently AND
I was unimpressed by many grading color choices that are in the real film… so I changed some… you will
see some changes later on…

I changed alot of the doubting Aragorn dont-want-to-be-king junk. I didn’t like that whole idea…
so I took out as much of it as I could (i.e. Aragorn tells Legolas to sit down at the council, etc… that stuff I took out…)

I also tried to make Saruman a little less “central” as a villian… like in the books. So, you won’t be hearing
Gandalf say “It’s Sarumaaaan!” at Caradrhas for example. Nor, will you see alot of Uruk-Hai suiting up and stuff that
takes place in Saruman’s shack.

Moria remains unchanged… heh… except that I severely shortened the broken stairway scene… and they
don’t see any corpses of Dwarves and Goblins until they reach Balin’s Tomb… and that makes the Watcher’s
attack more of a surprise… sort of.

Lothlorien I changed alot! In terms of grading at least… I pretty much hated the cold blueness of it and all that!
It’s supposed to be a nice place to rest and stuff… so I took the liberty of jacking up the colors and making it more warm.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Lord_Phillock/Junk/fotr-comparison-03.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Lord_Phillock/Junk/fotr-comparison-06.jpg
Here you see the comparison (below: original - above: re-graded)… I like it… some of you may think it’s too red… maybe your’e right… ahh whatever…

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Lord_Phillock/Junk/fotr-comparison-01.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Lord_Phillock/Junk/fotr-comparison-04.jpg
here are some more re-grades… I think the warmer feel makes it more pleasant.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Lord_Phillock/Junk/fotr-comparison-05.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Lord_Phillock/Junk/fotr-comparison-02.jpg
The gift-giving scenes I’m more happy with… see? Alot friendlier and elvish.

when they boat through the Anduin there is no “Isengard theme music video” with intercuts with the Fellowship
and the Uruk-Hai.
The extended night scene with Boromir, Aragorn, Frodo, and Gollum… I took out where Aragorn and Boromir have
a little quarrel… because Aragorn’s too much of a self-doubting nut in the movie… he should be more heroic (IMHO)…

For the Amon Hen stuff I slightly made the color more warm and added more color to it… what I hated in the whole LOTR
series was the desaturation of alot of things… what’s the use of desaturating it when in real life it would have been more
colorful? (I know it’s for mood expression, but it was just annoying)…
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Lord_Phillock/Junk/fotr-comparison-07.jpg
you may not see it… but there is a slight saturation difference (my version is above)

And we do not see Boromir die… he blows his horn once and the trio run for his aid and we CUT to Frodo with the ring.

and end the film that way… without intercutting with Aragorn and company… that, we will see in my re-furbished TTT cut… thank you!

well what do you think?

Star Wars Expanded Universe and Official Fan-Made Stuff question.
Time
Hey-a... I was just browsing around the STAR WARS: Ultimate Visual guide
and I stumbled upon lots of fan-made expanded universe additions to the compendium.

The more I read about it, the more fan-boyish and non-star wars-ish it became.
I now find out that most (I said MOST not all) of this EU stuff is really annoying
and sometimes very dark and very far-fetched to be part of the 'actual' STAR WARS
Universe... is this stuff "official"? Meaning it's sealed (just like the film's stuff) and no
one can alter it?

I'm sorry If I somehow offended anyone, but it's just really kinda' dumb.
Too many Jedi too many serious soul/altar/force-monks/possessions, etc.
That hardly fits into a STAR WARS film let alone a STAR WARS happening...

do any of you agree to this? I hope I'm not the only one, because I think
STAR WARS is how it is on screen... some EU stuff is a great addition, but usually
it feels too 'icky' you know what I mean?

Just like the über-seriousness of a scene in CLONE WARS (vol.1) where those
female Jedi are in that Lightsaber-o-matic™ Crystal-Temple-Cave-Thing and
are crouched and using the force and being terribly serious as if this was some
kind of a super-sacred ritual by adding the crystal into the handle.
Compare that to Episode IV, V, VI, I, II, heck even III... the whole Jedi mannerism
and atmosphere of the universe isn't that serious.. that's what I like about Star Wars!
It's here for epic, great, heroic entertainment! Never overtly dark (save Ep3... it was supposed to be)
nor super-sacred™ seriousness! Thank you.

LOTR: ROTK: The Book-Cut (Released)
Time

yes, I did it! The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Book-Cut!

It’s just like the TTT book cut that it follows the story in the book’s way of showing things…

Please note that I have changed a few things in it too…
I cut some stuff out and trimmed them to be shorter (usually talk scenes)
but don’t worry! Disc 1 is the Fellowship’s (minus Frodo and Sam’s) journey and that means the uncut Siege of Gondor!

here are a few things I’ve changed for the ROTK Book Cut…

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Lord_Phillock/rotk001.jpg
The Main title as it appears in the book cut…

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Lord_Phillock/rotk002.jpg
The Siege of Gondor is darkened to add a little more ominousness to it… (because quite frankly, I hate those vivid bright colors for the Siege)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Lord_Phillock/rotk003.jpg
And the Witch-King’s scene is darkened and shadowed… to make him scarier and stuff…

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Lord_Phillock/rotk007.jpg
After the Black Gate opening, we fade out and see this…

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v463/Lord_Phillock/rotk008.jpg
and this…

I will someday soon place it for availability on bittorrent… hope so!
if you can handle 6.7GBs that is… (don’t worry I’ll trim it down to 3 or 4)

for a complete list of what is changed… let me know…
thank you…

Frodo’s Jounrey isn’t complete yet… still working on that.
