Let’s not forget my attitude was a direct result of your initial belittling and accusations. You have no one to blame but yourself
There’s nothing wrong with that. Billionairehobo was acting like a childish ass.
You misunderstood my intent. I linked to darthrush’s reply to share its cromulence, not 'cause it’s an example of furious doing of taxes.
Oh. My mistake 😃
Well Impscum’s shtick has officially reached it’s magnum opus.
Isn’t the only reason people didn’t want a lightsaber was because he called it a Jedi weapon in Rotj.
No, because everyone is fine with Vader having one. As everyone said a lightsaber should be seen as a child’s weapon for the Dark Side of The Force would be a far more potent weapon to a Force Sensitive of his caliber.
Rian has given us a plethora of new info about Episode VIII. For starters for the first time in the Star Wars Saga this film will begin right where the last one left off. I think this is perfect because it is uber important to see the first interaction with Luke and Rey. Though I would like to see a time jump within the film that shows the ending of Kylo’s training and the continuation of Rey’s.
Aside from that Episode VIII will be very character oriented. Our characters will be developed even further and will be challenge immensely (which coincides with what Oscar Issac said earlier this year about the characters being tested). So for anyone who thought Rey got it easy in TFA will not need to worry because like Luke before her she will go through her trials and tribulations.
This bodes very well for the film and I am even more excited to see it.

The strongest pieces of evidence comes from the Table Talk which is not really a reliable source considering that it is is a book of transcribed conversations that Hitler had with people in his circle. Some versions of this book that were translated from German to other languages contained fabricated statements not found in the original German manuscript. Sounds fishy to me. But that’s almost beside the point. Let’s say he was not a Christian for the sake of argument he still was able to use it to win over the German people who were predominately Christian and used it to justify the persecution of the Jews. It doesn’t really even matter what he felt on the inside.

Because the trailer evoked the feeling of a bad guy turning into a good guy.
Yep, him saying he’s going to “pull the Rebels apart piece by piece” really gives off a good guy vibe don’t it?
I liked it.
Damn. Then what’s stopping you from delving into other EU material? There’s so much good stuff out there man.
I know Impscum posted this earlier but…
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness
John Coltrane - Blue Train
Suffocation - Effigy of The Forgotten
Suffocation - Pierced From Within
Not a fan of this album cover but the album itself is amazing.
Don’t waste your time. The films are the only Star Wars related thing that Frink will indulge in.
Not true, I read the Thrawn trilogy (and some laughably bad Jedi Academy thing) years ago, and I watched about half of the first season of The Clone Wars…I even own the Cartoon Network Clone Wars DVDs.
Interesting. What did you think of the Thrawn Trilogy?
If you watched the trailer you would know. If you haven’t the name Grand Admiral Thrawn would indicate what he is.
So I hear that Admiral Thrawn has been recanonized.
EDIT: already mentioned in Rebels thread.
Eh, there never was a reason to canonize him, besides fanservice of cause. But whatever.
There’s nothing wrong with pleasing the fans
“Who’s scruffy looking” exchange wouldn’t work in the present.
That’s 'cause the present sucks.
It’s sad that that’s not even really debatable.
This is supposed to be the ROTS Tarkin makeup test, and it looks better than what was in the movie!
That actually looks pretty damn good. Only problem is that he looks just as old as Tarkin in STAR WARS.
I prefer consistency, a darker tone and better themes being at play than what the SW script had. Also I can poke more holes in the SW script while I can only really nitpick with ESB’s script.
Hitler was not a Christian. That is an absolute lie of epic proportions.
Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay buddy
Plus even if he wasn’t the Nazi soldiers…you know the ones that were actually killing everyone were as Christian as anyone in Europe at the time. So at best Hitler used Christianity to justify their actions. Still isn’t looking good hermano.
The thing is that we bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki to put a quick end to the violence. Ironically enough that’s the same reason the Empire blew up Alderaan.
Did the Alderaanian army commit acts such as this on a regular basis?
No they did not but the motive is still the same. Japan just deserved it while Alderaan didn’t.
I thought they blew up Alderaan to display their power and intimidate Leia.
That was Tarkin’s objective but others saw it as a necessary evil. An act that would make systems cower in fear so that fear could turn to apathy and the apathy would lead to sustained peace.
Apparently he’s an Empire sympathizer.
Depends on how you look at it…
There was nothing justified about the Crusades. It was just that the Roman church wanted the money that came from the pilgrim business.
That’s an overly simplistic view of history.
It’s accurate.
No, it’s incredibly un-nuanced.
It’s the equivalent of saying that the United States bombed Japan purely to be mean.

Even if it’s not such a great looking Tarkin, I would have loved to see more of him in ROTS. Just a couple of scenes, nothing more.
For me personally it would have been cool if he had some type of impact on advancing the Grand Plan of the Sith. Would make him being a Grand Moff more impactful because we see how he got there.

Why, CGI?
Some simple prosthetics or make-up could age Jimmy Smits quite easily.
I’m okay with makeup but screw prosthetics
Well, that’s just one example of some bad prosthetics.
There’s been many good, and subtler, examples;

(Even the first picture of Meryl Streep above has her wearing some small prosthetics. Lucas, for whatever reason, just decided to slap as much latex as he could onto Wayne Pygram in ROTS.)
Actually that doesn’t look too bad. The FX team seems like they know what they’re doing so they could probably make it work.

How? I do think it’s possible he’s Bail.
(Or are you referring to my previous comment that I imagined him with a white beard? If so that relates to my OT, pre-PT image of Bail.)
Shit, I’m on dope. I thought you were Joe for some reason. My bad.

Not convinced that’s Bail Organa (but I’d love to be proven wrong). The fact that he’s in a military uniform doesn’t seem to fit.
Maybe if this film were taking place a couple of years after ROTS .
Why?
Bail was heavily involved with the rebellion around time of ANH.
That contradicts the reason you said you don’t think it’s Bail.
And it’s only been 19 years since ROTS, so technically he shouldn’t look any older than the guy in the picture. One could also argue that Mon Motha looks a tad too young in this film considering how it’s only roughly 5-ish years between ANH and ROTJ.
That’s an interesting point but we need to see a good photo of whoever that person is before any assessment can be made. Also they could perhaps use CGI to age Jimmy a bit.

wasn’t the trailer supposed to be released at 8PM Eastern Time tonight? I’m not able to find anything.
No, the bit they showed on television was just the sizzle reel again. The trailer they showed the crowd at Celebration was just for the crowd at Celebration. Same as that awesome teaser from last year’s Celebration that they never officially released.
What the hell is this? I can’t see a thing lol
EDIT:
I’ve been looking for a decent video of the leak to no avail so far. Tobar where is it man?
