Great thread! I have hundreds, maybe even a thousand. Not sure atm. Just got a few great ones including many original Hitchcocks like Rear Window, Psycho and North by Northwest, that made my year! My favorites are from the 70s and 80s, though. And even though I have that many I'm only keeping less than a hundred for myself and others are for sale. Too many favorites to put on the wall. :/ Unfortunately, Star Wars is the one missing... My favorites include BTTF, Jaws, Bonds and some exploitation films to name a few.

Clone Wars.

I hate that Boba Fett was no longer a mandalorian because Jango was revealed to not be one in the clone wars cartoon.  Never liked Jango but by extension Boba was no longer a Mando.  Extremely stupid.

Disliked the Return of Darth Maul.

Hated Maul's brother and insipidly stupid name Savage Oppress.

Anyways its all the same as i said before verbatim.  Lucas additions to the series were shit.  Just as his input into the force unleashed games was.

The stuff Lucas had no hand in was easily better than the prequels.

Yeah, Savage Oppress is a much sillier name than, say, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca or Jabba the Hutt...

 You are right.

something I always wondered about the PT
Time

Interesting points.

I think some may forget that we are talking about planets here. Tatooine could be bigger than Jupiter all we know. It can have millions or even billions of towns small and large. If I lived middle of Sahara (okay, impossible) and thought it was the most boring place ever, it doesn't mean that there isn't anything else happening on the whole planet. If I knew there was one airport (spaceport) pretty close, it doesn't mean it's the only one on the whole planet. Even then, Mos Eisley could be a 10 hour ride away from Luke's home even at landspeeder speed, which could be a couple of thousand kilometers, who knows

And if there aren't any cool car races right now happening at my local town of 12 people... well, I'm pretty sure there are lots of races going on 24/7 here on Earth. If I lived on Tatooine I'd try to come up with something fun to do then, even though the podrace as a story element is boring and ridicilous and shouldn't exist just because of that.

The Jabba angle is pretty good, but then again, we don't have anything other to hold against the "Tatooine is a dead rock" comment than a young man who wants to be somewhere else than at his home.

Btw, I'm not defending PT or anything else at all here as I don't like the choices made either, just more to think about for your own imagination.

Did they really need Carbon freezing scene in ESB?

Did they really need trash compactor scene in SW?

Did they really need TIE Fighter chase in SW?

Did they really need asteroid chase in TESB?

Did they really need Sarlacc battle in ROTJ?

Did they really need to make the films?

No.

No need to exaggerate. You missed the point of the question. They needed trash compactor scene - it was the only way to escape the prison block AA-23. Yes, they need TIE fighter chase because Grand Moff Tarkin had to create illusion of them successfully escaping the Death Star I in order to trace them to the hidden Rebel Base and after all in a film that has such title you'd expect to see a lot of starship battles and alike stuff, otherwise it would be strange indeed. Yes, they needed asteroid chase, because it directly followed from the context of words of General Reekan that considering such intense asteroid activity it would make it extremely difficult to detect any approaching ship. Yes, they needed to make Sarlacc battle because such cruel offering fitted Jabba's medieval barbaric style and plus added maximum of logically justified emotional tension. In contrast, the podrace scene in PM, droid factory sequence and Geonosis arena sacrifice scene that seemed like silly imitation of Sarlacc's one could have been easily omitted - the whole story wouldn't have suffered. A main demanding to a movie is that certain course of events would follow inner logic of dramatic composition. Hence where Kershner's and Ford's preoccupation came from.

You seemed to have missed my point. Everything can questioned and everything can be rationalized. Anyone can make a similar explanation for the carbon freezing scene. I think they summed it up pretty nicely in the film why it was "needed", works for me.

Mythbusters......does Star Wars in January
Time

Mythbusters was one of my favorite shows but now it's just become Moviebusters/Youtubebusters or anything involved with guns. It has come far away from the first episodes where they e.g. built a raft to escape Alcatraz. I know, of course the amount of "myths" gets smaller but still. Also the format has been dumbed down significantly and now they're all yelling all the time and clowning around (except Jamie) when before it was more fun when they had fun with each others expense. If you compare Adam from first season and Adam in the last few seasons it's pretty striking.

Can Episode VII ignore the prequels?

Jedi mucks all of this up a bit by having Ben walk around and sit on a log.

Well, some habits die hard. If you want to have a meaningful sit-down conversation, you would, well, sit down. Even if you're a ghost, the other one isn't. So I can forgive that. But yeah, dodging trees when coming out of forest, who knows... Maybe it's all in Luke's head, like you hinted.

Imbd_acc really doesn't seem to have anything else to do than make up fake pictures and talking lies about Carrie's boobs.

The guy who wrote that article probably is the same creep who photoshopped Carrie's breasts in two of the photos. And no way Carrie was DD back then.

Which two do you think are shopped? Because officialpix.com is selling one of the above autographed by Carrie herself.

http://www.officialpix.com/estore/proddetail.asp?prod=LE-FISHER-11x14&cat=55

http://www.officialpix.com/estore/proddetail.asp?prod=LE-FISHER-20x20&cat=55

The one in the water, it's flipped and the underboob has been enlarged. I know OP was selling it but unfortunately it's been recolored so that Leia looks like she's at Jersey Shore.

The second one is the one below it, that's a B&W photo that has been colored and again with boob enhancement.

I don't know, both work but I always liked the shot/angle used in John Jympson's early cut of the film more:

That's a much better shot, I wonder why they didn't use that. The original seems very bland and almost fake, like they used models or something. I don't mean it should be like the SE, no, but the angle is very uninteresting.
