^^See, is this actually a productive discussion, or just simply trying to deflate someone's belief because you disagree?

Warb made a bold claim, so I offered my reasoning to explain what happened. I'm not trying to deflate anything. And if you read past the skepticism, I'm actually complimenting Warbler. If it'd been a miracle, then Warbler would have no merit, now would he? Instead he did it all on his own, and we're all happy for him. Warb, you gotta have more confidence!

Because you're not a "no talent loser". You're obviously talented, and you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. If you didn't have talent, then they never would have asked you to sing the solo in the first place, which they've now done more than once.

QFT!

Not all talent comes from formal training, Warb.

Exactly.
I have no formal training except for the same kind of advice you received, i.e. being told to sing from the diaphragm, and I can do this:

You were under pressure Warb. Then the moment came and your mind focused.
I'm in amatheur theatre and I've seen actors who won't remember their lines, and just be a nervous wreck during reharsals, and then they get on stage and they give their 100%, and it all goes well.
You've probably seen that, when you were at school. There's a test coming up, and you're studying with a classmate. He or she is nervous and keeps repeating "I know nothing. I am scared shitless."  Then they go there and get an A.
It's our brains, they work like that when we're scared, we think we can't do something because we're afraid we'll mess up, but then the adrenaline rush comes and we concentrate and BOOM! Now you're reading this in John Madden's voice.

You just want to believe it's a miracle because it's closely related to something religious (choir singing) and I won't take that away from you, but... proof of God? As that song went, that don't impress me much.

Star Wars: Episode VII to be directed by J.J. Abrams **NON SPOILER THREAD**

I remember a really nice animated short, a little while ago, that depicted what happened just before Han & Chewie got to the Mos Eisley Cantina in the first movie. Their cargo was Jar Jar frozen in carbonite.

EDIT: found it! https://vimeo.com/14815990

the same vimeo channel has a 3d version, too.

Okay, but it does say those things. Bingo admitted he rather liked the teachings of Jesus, and is rather fond of the guy (as am I).

I'd truly like to be too, but the evidence is still pretty scant that he even existed, outside of mythologically.

Well yeah, if he was real, most of what was recorded about him would be extremely exaggerated.

I personally think he is completely fictional, and even if he wasn't, he might as well be since he'd be so far removed from the Jesus we read about.

But I feel like the character of Jesus in the Bible is a total badass.

Somebody, someday, is going to find the Chuck Norris facts.

I feel like crap. I'm burning another bridge, for reasons unknown to the person involved. I bet if I tell him, he won't remember. In fact, he doesn't even realize what's happening.
It is over something that I should've forgotten, but won't sit still with me. I don't know if I'm upset because it was douchey not to go to his graduation, or because I realize the friendship isn't worth patching up.  Probably both.
Too bad. I had invested too much in this relationship.

All jokes aside, I do have a VCR and it would be fun to transfer to VHS and see what it looks like on the old format. Although I'm not sure whether letterbox or fullscan would be better.

Now that we have the technology, why not send the video signal to the vcr squeezed all the way to 4:3, and unsqueeze it during playback using the tv's aspect ratio options?

Tommy Wiseau is the best sounding actor since Terence Hill!

You heard him undubbed, too? He is so dull... Terence Hill only had screen presence to work for him. I always liked Bud Spencer better as an actor, even if his real voice wasn't meant for acting, he understood what acting was about, and worked with facial expressions and gestures and whatnot. Terence only had that smirk, that ceaseless shit eating grin...

As to what makes it bad,  I really am not sure.   My religion says its a sin.   Maybe it is that it might be unnatural or that maybe sex should be about procreation and that can't happen naturally between gays

That's it. And you know why? For the same reason Jews or Muslims can't eat pork or drink alcohol: they lived in rough conditions. And for a population to live in the desert or any other harsh habitat, you have to really concentrate your energy towards being productive. So masturbation and any waste of seed (that includes homosexuality because it isn't used for procreation) is put under the stigma of taboo, and it becomes bad.

Just so you know, saying this stuff leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.

That's because you're thinking with your own head, and you know it's bullshit.
