Girl I'm not very attracted too. Been on a few "dates". Can get me access to something I need really, really, really want.

Why can't men have an out as easy as, "Sorry, I'm on my period"?

*shrimp taco*

There's this girl I sort of had a crush on like 2-3 years ago (I don't even remember), but she wasn't interested and chose another guy. They knew each other already and became a couple after I came along . We've remained friends, I realized she wasn't really my type of person, really no chemistry at all between us; I don't dislike her, we still mantain contact being colleagues at university and all. We talk once in a while. I wouldn't say we're close, but we're friends all right. She's helped me with uni. The other day she texts me, "hey where you been, haven't heard from you in a while, are you all right?". It's the sort of message she's sent me in the past, nothing new. As always, I think "how nice of her to think of me" so I reply "I'm all right, we'll chat on skype later"

So we get on IM and totally out of the blue she asks: (her name isn't Linda, obviously)

[21:10:14] Linda: :)

[21:11:06] Linda: so do you have a fianceé?

[21:11:15] Leo: ???

[21:11:19] Linda: just asking!

[21:11:20] Linda: :D

[21:11:24] Leo: perish the thought

[21:11:40] Leo: girls, yuck ;P

[21:12:01] Leo: kidding :P

[21:13:09] Leo: you all right?

[21:17:57] Linda: ahahah gotcha

[21:18:08] Linda: yeah, sure, sort of

Now, normally the question "do you have a girl?" is one I really don't like. It gets the same reaction from me as something bothering a porcupine. It's nice that somebody would think of me, but I'm not interested in girls anymore.
I would understand other people asking me. But "Linda"? She knows my situation, she knows what happened to me, why ask and above all, why ask so bluntly? What the hell?
I told my pal Cuttlefish about this, and as always his answer is

-"Dude!! She wants the D!! You should totally bone her!!"
-"Man, you know I'm not interested, and besides she's still got Fred. He was there a little bit later, I spoke with him."

I hope it's not what Cuttlefish thinks it is. One thing's for certain, she won't hear from me for a while.

You mean the "The story of a boy, a girl and a universe" teaser with the Vivaldi music? Huh, and I thought that was Orson Welles.

I did not know Orson Welles did a Star Wars trailer, I do know he did one for "Star Trek The Motion Picture".

I hope my comment didn't sound presumptuous, I actually don't know whose voice it is. I was convinced it was Orson.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fltqa5i03M4

But now that I listen to it more carefully, the accent and delivery isn't quite Welles.

And knowing the "Frozen Peas" tape, Orson probably would've stopped after the very first line LOL

"Somewhere, in space, this may all be happening.. right now...
-Do you really mean that?

Preserving the "Italian" Original Trilogy (Released)

I think it's only logical, man. I mean, they did the crawl, they did the end credits, why not the Greedo scene?
Then why isn't it in my tape, you'd say? Money. It would've cost more to scan the whole print. It's more financially sound to scan just the very start of the first reel of the italian print, and just the end of the last reel, and use the [1985?] IP sans-subs for the rest of the movie. Which is what they did for this 1991 VHS release.  And it's half assed, too, cause the parts that belong to the italian film print are correctly speeded up, while the international master is 25 fps with pitched down audio.

Now, thxita told me there was an earlier release, the CBS FOX 1986 tape, was this an italian tape, Erri?
If it was I'm going to bet that was probably a pan/scan or most probably squeezed telecine of the italian print.

However, as I said, let's go to Ravenna and actually see for ourselves. The more I think about this, the more I want to go. I missed Magical Mystery Tour, but fuck it, I'm not gonna miss this!

Leonardo, I agree with you that Greedo may think he could kill Solo and take the reward, but I think that the subtitles could be also right, following Solo dialog, instead the first line that is surely wrong... I mean, if Jabba put a big reward on Solo, don't you think that it should be higher is Solo it taken to him alive?

Apparently Greedo doesn't think so, seeing he wants to kill Solo. "That's the idea. I've been looking forward to this for a long time." That was his intention all along, coming into the cantina.

And, following Jabba's dialog (that, it's true, we could listen only 20 years later on the SE), he said "why you fried the poor Greedo", so it means (to me, at least) that Greedo was not a "freelance", but one of the Jabba's "men"...

of course, "I was just going to see your boss."

Well, those are only speculations, becasue, as you wrote in this thread at the beginning, there were no subtitles for Greedo at theaters in 1977!

Wait, wait, hold your horses, where did I say that? I don't think I've said anything of the kind.

Mille grazie Andrea.

BEWARE: skip to the bottom of this post for the english part.

- Dove stai andando, Solo?

No!

http://maythefourth.empira.it/

For the english speaking people, all that jibber jabber was: I'm keeping the current subtitles, and there's going to be a screening of the italian versions of the films on May 4th in Ravenna.
