Darth Solo's movie i seen last night opinion, be it an old or new filum.
Time

Thanks C3PX. I know, it is funny and at the same time dramatic. And don't worry, I'm about to turn 22 next month :)

It made its way into the stem and to the mouthpiece. Just picture me, lighting that thing, then trying to understand why I couldn't inhale. *phhhhhhhtttttttt* "why does it feel like it's clogged?...... Oh-dear-god-no....."

I'll try with the hot water, I hadn't tought of that, I was tempted to put it on a radiator, though. I tried the scraping but couldn't get much far, aside from emptying the bowl.

Boy, that was a stupid thing I did...

Note to self. Never, in any circumstance, try again to light a pipe with a candle...

Oh Im off to have a fag now. NO not a fag, a cancer stick i mean! Phu! Too much talkin arse here lately...

Hmm, that sounds quite nice right now actually. Unfortunately, I smoked my last fag back in December and haven't bothered to purchase more since. Mmm, maybe I have a cigar or two stashed away someplace... or my lovely little pipe... or there is always the hookah... wow, for a guy who "doesn't really smoke" I sure have a lot of options lying around...

By the way, I know this is off topic, but.... anybody know how to get wax out of a pipe?? I once tried to light it with a candle, and now it's full of wax. And, NO, I'm certainly not joking. My dad will kill me if he ever finds out!

there would be lots and lots of other pictures, mostly NSFW, but I'm too lazy to add them all (also because it is off topic). but they will all show up in a Google Images search (turn off safesearch for the best ones of course)

also, to add to latest comments, I'll agree on Sarah Jessica Parker... uuuuugleeeee!

Socks or Real People?
Time

my screen name is in reference to the great Leonardo Da Vinci, who, now that I think of it, among other things, (artist, songwriter...) was what we today would call a bit of a geek. Imagine if he lived today and he had a blog, now you know he WOULD have one! He'd probably write articles like these:

How Long Does Bill Murray Spend in Groundhog Day? (yes I read it yesterday and I was just waiting for a chance to post it)

I've used this name elsewhere, sometimes going so far as using a picture of Leonardo as an avatar; it has no relation to my real name, but I've used it so much it has become my second identity, even so that I'm considering adding it as a second name to my real one.

well, you guys... you've got me there. As much as I'm not really in love with the human race as a whole, I have to admit that I love and respect many people, then maybe I'm not that much of an animal as I thought I was... and again, you see, I'm viewing things from my own egocentrical point of view (me, I, me, me). guess I can't help that...

I really didn't grow up straight...  mankind still puzzles me... it really does

...

Can we all agree on what defines a sentient being?

A person?

they probably don't know what the moon is, but what is your point?

you think Man (Americans and Russians) during the sixties aimed at the moon just for scientific reasons? or maybe it was because they wanted to be ahead of one another "we'll land first-- no, we'll land first!" just like a colony of ants would fight against another colony for the possession of a spot near a piece of bread...

my point being that yes, it is a scientific achievement, but it is also a big "who has the bigger dick" contest, just like any chimp would do

LOL! I suppose it is the humbleness of the ostriches and ants that have made them decide against driving around in automobiles or studying their own anatomy in order to preform advanced surgeries on one another in order to save their lives? Yeah, that makes sense. Man, and I thought the Christians tended to make themselves sound like retards!

Anyone can sound like a retard, it's not that difficult.

I will repeat it, Man is both clever AND stupid. He's clever because he invented many things, including the internet wich we are now using, and he's really stupid cause we've got genocide, wich is not only morally wrong --you say eliminate the moral part? : it is counterproductive to our species' survival!

I still think it's arrogant to think at our species as the best there is out there. Just because we have culture and stuff.... chimpanzees have culture, I'm told, yet they're not considered "people", they're considered "dumb animals"

The reason so many people have religion is because, (in context to creation) science cannot explain creation without saying Bang.

I hate to start an argument, but I cannot grasp the idea of a creation without a creator. The universe couldn't have just decided to exist. My beliefs are easier to grasp than "It just happened".

don't worry about starting an argument (or rather a nice exchange of opinions wich i prefer), it's just because we care in what we think, that we "argue", you know what I'm sayin?

now, in my opinion the reason so many people have religion, and have always had beliefs and such, is because they'd like to have certainties, something to rely on, and because of the arrogant idea that man (as in Homo Sapiens Sapiens) is Special, is better than all the other animals when in fact he's just another animal, just as stupid or as clever as an ostrich or an ant.

there are instances in life where we like to complicate things, and there are others in wich we certainly don't. beliefs is one of those. "why does that... who did this and that..... MAGIC". it's just easier. or rather it was...

no I take it back. there are also complicated beliefs, with long lists of what you should and should not do, and such and such. well I guess a gift humanity will NEVER experience is COHERENCE! I know that for sure.

In context to creation, the main thing, for me, is, wrong name. it's not a creation, cause a creation, as logic would put it, requires a creator.

science has not yet got the whole picture, and who knows if it will (certainly not in our lifetimes), but we, as it is now, cannot yet wrap our head around it. scientists can't do that, let alone Average Joe. just the fact that in high school they teach you just the basics of relativity, and when i mean basics i mean abc, and that is just the beginning of modern science.... first you had to understand what the universe is... and that alone is something nobody agrees on.

yeah both are wrong.    I wonder,  if any among the killed or wounded are truly devote Christians?    I'd like to hear from them.    I mean if god is punishing the people of Hatti because they turned to Satan, what do the truly devote Christians of Hatti think of god punishing them along the those in Hatti who are not Christian?  Surely god is smart enough to think of a way to just punish the non Christians who turned to Satan without punishing the true Christians who did not turn to Satan.?....

the standard answer that many christians will give to that is : "well it's all part of god's great design, and we are not meant to understand, blah blah"

humbug, Imho.

I was raised as a catholic, but going through high school I understood I never really cared for any of that stuff, let alone believe in it. For me there is no such thing as "believe it, it's true!!".... well aside from few things that I take for granted, but nothing supernatural.

this is a man I would've loved to meet, but I never had a chance to, as I "discovered" him a year after his passing, and I live in another continent anyway:

Are you a PC, Mac, or Linux user? What version and why.
Time

I'm a personal computer user. Whether it be dos/windows, macintosh, gnu-linux, or even Amiga, I'm fine with it and I will use it if I need it. If it screws up, I'll try to fix it. Now, I've never used a mac before, but I've seen a little of how they work, and I see a possibility that I could use one someday.. I don't know when, or why, just for the sake of it.

Just a quick note regarding the clipping...
Well, there really shouldn't be any clipping/digital distortion, what you usually do if there are some 'outrageous' peaks is put a brickwall limiter at the end of your filter chain, it will catch anything over 0db (digital 0db) and avoid digital distortion.
Feel free to PM me if you need help with this or something.

I disagree satanika. if you just cut away stuff or compress with limiters and compressors, you're modifying that audio's dynamic range, and that's not good for an audiophile. I think that in order to avoid distortions of any kind, you should work with your data at a lower volume in the first place, by setting your filters (in this case the equalizers ABC's using) at the right volume so that we avoid clipping but just loud enough to be powerful. I've done this  several times trying to enhance some old cassette tapes.

I knew I should've searched better... Serves me as a lesson

You're right SilverWook... maybe it's just me I don't really like musicals... I like musical numbers in Mel Brooks movies, though, like "History of The World, Part 1",  the Inquisition scene is one of my favourites because of the song, catchy music and lyrics (and, you know, the meaning and all that). Sometimes I wonder if Mel really does love musicals or he makes fun of them. Probably both.

just downloaded everything. I began listening to a couple of tracks, and as always, your work shows, ABC. Bravo! These tracks have great presence to them, they're powerful and clear.

There is just one thing...   (Columbo moment)

I hate to be so picky... but I opened these two tracks in Cool Edit Pro 2.1, and noticed that in the highest peaks there is some clipping, it goes briefly to zero db. Perhaps it would help to set the equalizer's master level just a bit lower, say -1 db.

I know you're gonna cut my hand off for this, please be gentle

I don't recall seeing a thread about it, but then again I'm fairly new and haven't explored much of the board...

All I know is I stumbled upon it, while waiting for Doug Walker's (The Nostalgia Critic) review of the Holiday Special (see it on http://www.thatguywiththeglasses.com/, it's not up yet, but it will be soon).

As I was saying, I stumbled upon it, and I listened to 10 seconds.. couldn't listen to more of that.. stuff. Ahgggghh it hurtss it hurts so much....
