Blu-ray revisionism now getting ridiculous

@pplication:

Thanks to change your avatar Sluggo, no sharp or spiky edges admitted.

... Yeah, sometime they care of crazy details. If you want to make something pass through, you just have to attract their attention on something that look worst. Story-boarders and directors know that game well, cause even during the production the stuff is watched with a magnifying glass.

Who are THEY and where did they get these regulatory powers? And who exactly do they apply to? The articles mentions no rules.

Those rules apply to the writters, the designers and storyboarders, and they are imposed by the channels who ordered the series to the producers.

I don't remember the name of the commitee I've mentionned above, but I've seen how far they can go.

... Two-pieces bath suit are sometime forbiden too, I just remembered.

I'm not surprised. They have rules and guidelines in animated cartoons as well, that come from commitees made up from parents who want to insure the sanity of what children will see.

For exemple:

- No skull heads (like on a poison bottle for instance)

- No objects with sharp edges

- no navels on the characters

- Fire must be blue instead of yellow or red

- All characters in a vehicle must wear a seat belt !

... Excepted when they're driving with their feet using a bazooka to blast ennemies.

Cause of course those ridiculous rules apply as well (or mostly) for series that contain the more action / explosion / weapons etc...

Hypocrisis at its top.

I think people understand your attitude, even if they do not always understand everything you write.  Your posts come across as condescending...

There's a kind of a rant tone through some of my posts here, cause the actual situation confirms my thoughts since the beginning of this previously sticky thread (overall revealed by reactions after DAYV's friend inputs) . Lie or truth is secondary question: the way this affair has been exposed was a mistake. If I said what I thought since the beginning it would have been a true warning but I'd have been insulted and perhaps even banned right away. I think what you perceive as condescendance is rather passion. But this damn keyboard won't let you know exactly the real "me" I'm affraid.

Thank you for this intelligible address though. Whatever I think for myself I'm taking a note of your post.

That wasn't my attention at all - I meant if you lie about something, it'll catch up with you in the end - that's what I meant by the Karma comment.

I totally agree. And you never know how things you do strikes you back... It's always a 'surprise'. The offender always arms himself the more in the end, that's what I think and that's why I'm sorry Warb took it wrong when I said he doesn't need to spend his anger and hate if he may have been fooled. I can't wish you peace a more sincere way folks.

Hey Nerf, take care man ;)

I'll stay out of that place now.

Sorry but I didn't expect my posts would appear as trying to put gazoline on fire, on the contratry.

Actually I wished to point out that if somebody lied to you in this matter, he's far to be the main responsible of all this, neitheir is Warbler to have created this topic besides. I think everyone is responsible here for giving credits to words. That's all. Now, if it's to hard to face I'm sorry.

I can't believe my posts are so badly understood even if I'm not from English culture.

PS: and again, I really think the creation of a dedicated section for big cases as medical or financial help would show it concerns more than one person here.

Immaturity is not an insult and you may be more mature than me on many things related to our respective lives. I'm aware the above statement may sound condescending toward the mass who replied to Jay's call but it's not, and certainly not a reason for insulting me in return. That was certainly not a comparison between "me" and "you".

I've no doubt Jay will think twice next time someone publicly announces serious help needed through donations, and everybody will be able to know exactly what they're doing.

Just clarifying my point here.

You mean... You're giving your money for someone who is supposed to need it to get better, while you don't read (or remember) his posts he gives in this thread in order to update news about his health ?

third time:  he didn't see it because it was sent to me in a PM.   Apparently, Leguman must have missed posts 165 and 168 of this thread.

My mistake, if CA was not replying to my post but yours.

Anyway...

You have great hearts people. Great hearts but total immaturity. I realize it even more with this mass emails affair from Jay for donations (I don't check my email linked to that site often).

If the topic was for another person with no personnal relationships or background around, you would have just believe what one person told you without evidence (edit) a question.

That is far more amazing to me than to think you could have been told a lie.

All my best thoughts to you DAYV once again whatever the truth is, I've no doubt you really need a load of positive vibrations... Who doesn't ? ;)

While I haven't sent any money, the fact is I read him and care about the news he gives and I keep thinking with warmth and serenity this guy will find his way to get better.

As sure as words have value as they can help someone to get better or enlarge perspectives, thoughts have as much importance. Unfortunately I would sound heavy badass if I said here what a charity act without all your thoughts and heart means to me...

PS: sorry I can't keep myself of sharing my feelings on such an important matter. I've got a lot to learn with Charity myself though. All the best.

Just my thoughts about Jay's post:

Jay said:

I volunteered this site's resources, leveraged its reputation, and asked its membership to participate in a good faith fundraiser for a cancer victim.

Why doing this for a particular member, I wonder ?

I would rather suggest to open a new section if you want to help that way then because DAYV is certainly not the last having serious personnal troubles around here, whatever it's about health or money. I for one don't want to let you know about my private life, but it's at each one's choice.

A dedicated section would encourage people to speak. The Off Topic is too much a kind of private club where too few people will dare speaking of themselves and their trouble.

If I were to learn that I and others were led to do so under false pretenses, we could have a very serious problem.

Forgive me my ignorance but does it make such a difference with donations for a fan edit or else across that site ? I just didn't know any Paypal donation had to be justified, if they are justly donations.

Dayv, if you have any documentation that you could send to me personally so you don't have to post it for everyone to see, it would be most appreciated.

Mmmhh ? Are you asking only for visual evidences to a graphic designer ?... Don't forget to check these out then...

Evidence or not, I gave because I wanted to help someone in need..

Personally, I don't care if he has evidence to show anything.. I don't need someone who has cancer to have to prove to a bunch of strangers that he has problems to deal with..

I don't believe he asked people for money, so you shouldn't feel like you were scammed. People gave because they felt like giving.. I think it's just hard for some to accept that there may be people out there that take advantage of others..

In either case, I'm not spending anymore time reading about drama.. About who lied and who didn't.. Dayv, good luck and hope things work out for you, whatever the problem may be..

For everyone else, you got your refunds (i assume, because I got mine back).. Leave it at that.. Let's just drop this entire thread, and move on.. I don't see the point in making someone prove wether or not they have a serious condition.. We can just delete this thread and move on.. And in the future, just give for the sake of giving.. Doesn't matter what or how it was used.. If you ever feel like it was taken advantage of, then don't give to the same person again, that's all.. Move on and enjoy another day of living..

The last of the Jedi are you, indeed.

So you would only blame yourself and not place any blame at all on the person that conned you???

You live to learn, not to stagnate. How many times you've been releasing your anger because you felt attacked and then apologyse for it since I read you !... One day you'll have enough, believe me. Let's just watch ourselves.

... I'd prefer rushing into this and helping out and find out later that it was fraud, than not help and find out later that that he died.

If you can take care and love the people really close you that much already, you can allow yourself those kinds of extras of course... You then don' t need your actual signature anymore !

If  I was active(which I wasn't),  it would mean I had actually committed fraud as well.

I don't think anybody will say you commited fraud and I'm convinced you only wanted to help whatever the truth about DAYV is.

Just was I saying that if I'm too stupid to believe something wrong or to rush into an idea I haven't figured out as authentic or true (yes I call that stupid when I do so), I only blame myself ! That way I become more responsible again about my own choices, not to remain a victim all my life ! ;)
