Laser, fantastic stuff! The colour correction was great, and I loved the removal of Indy's-pants-ripping, as well as those damn CG monkeys! There won't be one CG critter left in your finished product at this rate, and that's a very good thing!

Also, I thought the pacing of the 'wows', said by Mutt and Indy after Mutt swings into action, was much better than in your previous cut of the jungle chase, and seemed 100% natural - you wouldn't realise that a cut was involved there, at all. And, did you shorten the interval between Mutt standing on top of Indy's jeep and Mutt getting caught up in the branch? That was brilliant! It seemed really clumsy before, but now the pacing never slows down, and the chase carries along very nicely!

I have only a few suggestions:

1.) Are you going to restore the missing nozzle-flash to Spalko’s gun just after she shoots at Indy, Mutt and Marion in the jeep, in the brief shot where we cut back to Spalko in her jeep afterwards (she continues to fire briefly, but there is no flash at the end of her gun).

2.) Is it possible to cut straight to Mutt grabbing the handle of the sword he finds in the jeep, rather than first trying to grab the blade, which seems plain stupid on his part (especially as it was revealed earlier in the film that he was an accomplished fencer/good with blades - he should know better!).

3.) Also, I completely agree with a previous poster that it would be better to cut out all instances of Mutt doing the splits – this cut could possibly be made, from when Spalko cuts his face straight into him falling down onto the other jeep. Even athough in your edit Mutt doesn't get stupidly hit in the crotch, him still doing the splits continues to seem farfetched and silly, in my opinon.

Finally, with regards to cutting out Ox saying 'Henry Jones...Junior!', I'm neutral either way, but if it had to be dropped, couldn't you remove that whole scene (the close-up of Ox)? Before that scene, there is a close-up of Spalko, and after it, there is another shot up-close at Spalko's face - could these two before-and-after shots of Spalko around Ox's scene not be spliced together, like you have done with other scenes in the jungle chase? That way, you could completely remove Ox's 'Henry Jones Junior' line, and it may actually improve the pacing, with things starting off much faster.

Brilliant stuff though, man!

Actually I didn't change the "Wow"-timing since my last edit, but thanks anyway ;-)

And yes, I DID remove a shot of Mutt standing up on the jeep (which came right before Indy babbling a warning). It looked very clumsy, as he was already looking forward in that shot, and in the next shot (after the warning) he's turning around again. I think now it flows much better.

1. Yes, the muzzle-flash will be added

2. No, I won't change that... after all he just might want to check if the blade is actually sharp... or something like that.

3. I really would like to keep that part... although it'd be better if it felt more dangerous. I'm not sure yet.

Sadly the splicing of the two Spalko shots before and after Ox's "Henry Jones, Jr." doesn't match... it was a huge coincidence that it worked with Mutt's 360°-shot, but this time there'd be a jump (the guys running in the background are further away in the second shot). Plus Ox isn't pausing enough before and after his sentence to just use a short bit of him, so I'll just leave it as it is.

Yeah, there's one rogue frame after Mutt being pulled up, I'll fix that. And you're right, Marion's delay before ducking should be shortened. I'll see what i can do about Oxley's "Henry Jones, Jr." though there's probably continuity errors in Spalko's shots when removing it.

The spatial order in the bazooka-scene actually never bothered me at all, so I'll just leave that part as it is.

Color-wise I think I'm set on this look now... no arguing ;-)

Ok, so if I download the HD version with intentions of putting it on a dvd, will I need an HDDVD or BLUERAY burner? All I have is a DVD player.

No... just as Adywan did it with his AVCHD-DVD9-versions of "Star Wars", you can burn BluRay-compatible HD-media on standard DVD9-discs. Or put a 720p version on a regular DVD-R in DivX. Or... you get the idea.

also be mindful that you are beginning to lose detail, especially in the brighter areas. The high contrast and low saturation just look out of place here.

I've read the "losing detail"-argument regarding my color-correction before, and I dare to disagree. The movie itself is already boosted in the highlights, but grading pushed them down a bit again. This doesn't change the fact that those areas are already (nearly) over-exposed, but grading changed those pure-whites into some yellow/orange tones, and not white anymore. As I'm taking out that ugly color-tinting (which turns the yellowish highlights into greys), there's no reason to not expand the luminance to the full spectrum again, thus pushing the brightest whites to the maximum again.

I'm pretty sure that my correction makes the movie look more like when it was shot (which can be seen in some of the first teasers, which weren't color-graded as strongly as the final movie). Furthermore the criticised "high contrast and low saturation" is - in my opinion - the look that was established by the first three films, and as we're aiming for consistency with those, I think this is the right way to go. (By the way, I didn't desaturate the whole image, but mainly the greens, as they were obviously boosted)

I'm still tackling the Jungle Chase, so here are some more color-correction comparisons for that sequence:

In spite of my initial hesitation of adding additional camera-shake to the shots, I've changed my mind, and will add them now, as it looks like the scenes feel at least a little more intense with them. I wish I had some good engine sound-effects (like trucks accelerating or driving at high speed), as adding them to some shots might give a better feeling of velocity, so if anybody can help out here...

I'll post some clips when I'm a little further into it.

As said, I won't give any time-frames, so don't put all your hopes just in me.

Your editing suggestions look good, and I think they provide a nice template to follow. So with a detailed editing instruction like that it shouldn't take too long to change a scene. Editing is the easier part of any changes... digital changes take a lot more time to do, and I think the editing itself can be learned quite quickly... the web is full of tutorials regarding that (and I think there are some links in this thread as well).

I have a little more freetime right now, but Bedlam is right, you shouldn't always ask for status updates or plans... at least I am - to keep in Indy-slang - "making it up as I go". Furthermore, as soon as you post any "plans" on a forum, you always have people that get rubbed the wrong way, if you don't stick to these plans. So why make any in the first place? This is just a hobby to me, and sometimes I feel like doing something else instead. My job is about meeting deadlines all the time, and I don't need that in my freetime as well.

Your cemetary-edit is REALLY great... I was thinking about something like that as well, although I thought about having the gunshot happen off-screen (and without a spark-impact like yours, so that it was just Indy firing a warning shot in the air) and then Indy raising his still smoking gun into frame, and cocking it again.

Check the back cover I've posted for "Skull"... some expanded track based on DVD-rips (some from the DVD-menus and -extras, some from the movie itself). The user "crumbs" on the JWFan.net-forum made that "expanded" version.

You should definitely have a look at the new www.IndianaJonesMusic.com, which gets updated constantly right now. Check the "spreadsheet"- and "missing music"-categories, where you can see where some extended tracks can be found (some on unofficial bootlegs, some in games, etc. ...).

Also have a peek at the Unreleased Music-thread (and other Indy-threads) over at the JWFan.net-forums, where some people have posted unreleased cues they've recorded using the original sheet-music, and a LOT more info on the soundtracks.

As I'm going to make my own 2-disc sets from the box-set and other sources as well, here are previews of the covers I've made for them ("Raiders", "Temple" and "Crusade" only got fronts for now):

And here's the expanded "Skull"-score (from the JWFan.net-forums) in full size, plus backs and insides:

Front:    Back:    Inside:

The back and the inside are supposed to be printed back to back on the same sheet of paper. The inside image is a little bigger than the back (so that it overlaps)... just cut along the edges of the back-cover and it should look good.
