Eventually all 6 movies will be of the same design, I've yet to figure out what kind of art I want for the box set, and for that matter the image on the back of AOTC, but here's ANH for what i'm calling my "collectors edition"...I still need to tweek the spine, but otherwise it's finished.

I've been wondering what the current status on these was. Are you still planning on posting them when you're done?

EDIT: Oops, sorry, double post

First of all, you guys make me sick....... just when I find/print the coolest set of covers, there's another set, and another........

Just kidding. Many thanks to all for the awesome covers, hosting & effort - very cool. I've resisted frequenting here for a few months, actually till after the holidays when I got a new printer. Now I get to go crazy & redo all my fan-edit sets & dvds.

Quick question. A while back there was some mention about printing on the dvds & sealing them with a spray.... I can't find that thread. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks again.
Chris

I remember copying that post for my own reference, but now I'm ticked since I can't find it on my backup (just reformatted my computer).

Anyhow, I remember the spray used was made by Krylon, I believe it was called Crystal Clear or something like that.

NON-Star Wars Fan Edit and Alternate DVD Covers SHOWCASE
Time
For the sake of saving space, I'm going to start converting some of my TV show DVDs to thinpaks. The first up is Gundam Seed. Here's a design I've finally worked out:
http://www.maj.com/gallery/astray/DVD-Covers/gsdvd01render.jpg
Basically, I'll scan in the official cover of the DVDs and use that as the front, then do something on the back with screenshots for each of the eps on the DVD, and then the spines will create the pic of the hero's mecha from the second half of the series.

Info: Master Edition - the website for future Star Wars DVD changes

Hm. It's interesting, to say the least. May I recommend a better approach to the Grievous problem?

Have him walking tall and powerful, ala Clone Wars, at the beginning. Then, have Anakin take Dooku's red saber after the battle. At one point in the bridge battle, in which we could hopefully have some Grievous dueling Obi-Wan and Anakin, Anakin gets pushed away, and finally, just ignites Dooku's saber and throws it like a spear and hits Grievous in the chest. Grievous collapses and starts coughing while he hits the deactivate button (Basically, this just removes the need to see the last ep of Clone Wars to know why Grievous coughes). Grievous could ignite the saber and throw it out the window, then maybe grab it in space and then use it against Obi-Wan on Utapau.

Why Boba Fett is now bunk

I personally thought they were going somewhere with the "No Disintegrations" thing. I thought he was going to somehow disintegrate Mace in Ep III right in front of Anakin or something. That would've ruled. I also would have been a nice little touch to have Fett be one of the few people who knew who Vader was. Fett is just one of those people with badass potential that got lost.

Coov, I'd just like to point out that your current RotJ: CE doesn't fit with the others because of the spine. The SW and ESB logos on the spines are words on top of each other, whereas for RotJ, you spread out the whole title. Just look at the others if you don't get what I mean. Aside from that, I'm loving the covers.

About the saber twirl in RotS:
To me, the saber fanning out and such, seemed like it was made to intimidate the opponent and make them step back, or if they attempted to attack, the spinning saber would probably knock the attacking saber away, and leave them open to attack.
Now when I saw both of them use it at once, my first thought was that it had to be a technique one of them made (probably Obi-Wan), and shared with the other one. I thought the whole point of it was to show that they were extremelly alike as far as knowledge of the saber went, since they were master and apprentice. The fact that they both stopped at the same point in the fan just reemphasized this.

Idea: 40 Year Old Virgin - theatrical cut?

There's only two versions of the flick (thus far): the theatrical cut (only available in fullscreen on DVD) and the unrated version (available fullscreen and widescreen). There may have yet been more deleted scenes (even though there were deleted scenes on both the feature disc and Wake Up) on an extra Best Buy bonus disc that my friend has, which I'll be investigating in about a week when I borrow it from him.

Er, yeah, sorry to jack the thread with this, but...

Many thanks for the link. I guess I never realized the non-uncut DVD wasn't available in WS. I guess I better get to work editing...
