"Star Wars: Bounty Hunter - Beyond The Game 2.0" 3-DVD by Galactus + MoveAlong + ThrowgnCpr ** NOW AVAILABLE! **
Time

Wow, beautiful release, really!

So far, I've watched the purist cut, and it's really great to be able to watch the whole story that way. It's the right balance between a longplay that can easily be... too long to watch, and a cutscenes-only montage where we miss a lot of the story. It really does the job perfectly.

Fans who are not gamers, and even those who just haven't played Bounty Hunter, this is really for you. Here you have a good expanded universe story presented in a very understandable and comprehensive way.

The DVD menus are very well made, very professional, clean and right in the mood.

And the Special Features are just amazing, I think it would be very hard to find a more complete coverage of the game. This release could really be subtitled "The Completist Edition" (special mention for the glitches video!).

Ah, this release brings back so many memories, and not only of the game (god, can you believe that it was released 11 years ago?...) but I know Galactus was working on it for so long now, I'm so happy that it is finally made and released.

Congrats to Galactus, MoveAlong and ThrowgnCpr, great job guys!

(And thanks again Galactus for sending me an all-printed set)

"The Ewoks Project - Animated TV Series" DVD set (now on myspleen) (Released)
Time

Hi there!

Haven't been around here since a long time ago, but in a mood of nostalgia, and just after having re-watched the Ewok Adventures DVD, what a great surprise to see this preservation project, which looks really really good.

That said — sorry in advance for the blasphemy of asking this in a preservation project but — is there any way to have all those episodes on a more hard drive friendly format, like mp4 maybe?

To be honest, I've lost the habit of burning DVDs for videos, and most of all, the complete series total weight is really huge... That, and my current ISP upload rate limitations policy will kill my MySpleen account ratio in no time...

Aargh... it's Windows-only...
I've tried some plug-ins for Firefox and Safari, which work for sites likes Youtube, but don't work for sw.com.

Anybody has a solution for Mac?

In fact, all the videos present in the flash interface, like the Clone Wars trailer, are not downloadable. I mean, in theory... It would be great if you can find a way.

What I don't like in this new flash-only website (or "interactive animation" ) is the fact that the videos are no more downloadable...
I have a Firefox plug-in that allow me to download many types of videos, including the flv files from Youtube, but it doesn't work for sw.com...

So, I have two questions for the "experts":
- What system is used here for video? Is it a "real" streaming?
- Is there any way to download those videos?

Thanks

The Merits of the Prequel Trilogy and the "Saga"
Time
All those details discussed here (midichlorians, jumps...) really confirm what I was thinking. A number of (O)OT fans don't want to see NEW things to appear in their favourite universe...

And it's why GL has never got a tiny chance to satisfy all SW fans, simply cause a number of them want to see "new" adventures, but without "new" in-universe details. And in the other hand, those same fans hate GL when he re-use an element from the OT. Take his place for a minute. What the hell could YOU make to satisfy all SW fans? Mission: impossible...

I really don't understand why an element that didn't appear in the OT shouldn't appear in the PT (or any "new" story). Please stop taking the OT as a Holly Bible... That was just my point of view.

ROTS in the IMDb top 250!

Anyway, imdb top list isn't really fair just because the majority of users are americans... I don't have anything against americans, but just look that list: many of these movies are blockbusters. Even if many are "good" blockbusters, they're still "hollywood-style" spectacular movies...
Even if I love Star Wars or LOTR, there are so many more interesting movies in the history of cinema... too bad...

Cut scenes
Time
Yes, but on the other hand, OT deleted scenes are important part of the myth. For what we will be seeking, the day we would have seen those treasures? In fact, I desperately want to see those scenes (even if I already have seen some, the most famous), but I don't want to break the myth... Difficult thoughs...

so how's work coming with that Bounty Hunter disc Kaal-Jhyy? I've been excited for that one since I first heard you and Galactacus

Well, because of personal troubles, I've not been able to work on it... I still don't know when I'll have time for it, but I hope it will be soon.
All I can say for now: we have pretty much all the material we need: the cutscenes in great quality, and a lot of bonus material (a long long work of research for us, especially for Galactus ). The only thing that remains to be done: the DVD. And it's not the easiest part, cause I'd like it to be as good (and maybe better) than the previous DVD.
I'll give some news when I'll be ready to work on it.

Jabberdoo, further to the tutorial you posted, I've just popped my PS2 copy of Bounty HUnter into my computer, looking for the FMV sequences. I found a VIDEO folder but the files inside have a .sfd extension. Have you found anything related to these?

Hi daveytod!

Kaal-Jhyy (who did the "Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II - The Cutscenes" DVD) and I have been slowly working on a Bounty Hunter DVD. I was able to rip and convert the cut scenes from the PS2 version of the game into beautiful quality 16X9 anamorphic widescreen DVD compliant MPEG's. HERE'S the link to Kaal-Jhyy's thread where I posted some screen captures, and talked a little about how I ripped the video. The screen shots didn't turn out 16X9 for some reason, but the video definitely is.

We have assembled a TON of bonus material for this, and hopefully we'll have a nice Bounty Hunter preservation DVD put together before long.

I love your Episode III The Video Game DVD!! I think there need to be a LOT more DVD's preserving some of the awesome footage available in video games.

Galactus

Yes, Galactus has send me all the Bounty Hunter cutscenes and I have to say that the quality is awesome! For some reasons, I haven't been able to work on the DVD, but I really want to make it, and will do. With all the bonus material we've assembled, Galactus and me, the results could be a very exciting DVD.
More news soon (I hope!).

And yes, I've watched the Episode III DVD, and it's great! Good job!
It would be so cool to have a nice collection of SW games DVDs, it's up to us to realize that!
