Twilight - Debussey Edit (Released)
Time

The novel had three structural choices that were defining and clever.  The first was to edit the climax in as the prologue, to build tension despite the languid pace.  The second was to structure a young adult vampire novel like an 18th century romance.  The third was to violate the rule never to introduce new characters in the third act.  Meyer does this willfully, literally having the antagonists ever from the left field of a baseball pitch.  This edit restores those structural elements.

Partial list of edits:

The ‘deer prologue’ has been deleted, replaced with footage and voice-over from the approach to the ballet studio.  The title card has been redone to separate the prologue from the main story.

The scenes of or referencing Laurent, James, and Victoria prior to the baseball scene have been deleted.

As many of the sub-par VFX were edited out as practical.

Most of the film was shot using hand-held techniques to increase the sense of immediacy and realism.  A handful of inserts used Steadicams, cranes, and helicopters.  These inserts were incredibly jarring, and were removed where practical.

The most egregious musical cues were replaced.
