Long time without an update.

I've finally completed the torture droid scene. It's not 100%, as the tracking of the mask is a bit off, so that the cell door appears to wobble a bit, but other than that it is as I intended. NO PROBE! Vader enters and tells Leia that they will discuss the location of the plans, Leia looks towards the door and the door closes.

I will fix the door mask tracking problem later, currently I want to move on to other scenes. I'll post the new video clip soon.

Yes, it is noticeable and I am not totally satisfied with it, but for now I will leave it like this, unless I (or someone else) comes up with a better (but still doable) idea. In any case, the "Vader's leash" line MUST GO.

Not perfect, but I think it works quite well.

BTW, any ideas how to handle the Tarkin-Leia dialog?

"Governor Tarkin. I should have expected to find you holding Vader's leash. I recognized your foul stench when I was brought on board."

It is quite hard to re-cut this, as Leia speaks fast. A good cut is after the "Governor Tarkin" directly to "I recognized...", but then there is a continuity issue with Vader's position...

Well, I personally never thought of the stormtroopers aboard Tantive as iconic, even as a child. Just clumsy.

I'm back now after a short break.

The choke scene will stay as it is for now, but I might revisit it.

Currently I am streamlining the fight aboard Tantive IV so the stromtroopers come off stronger and to improve the pace.

I'd love some more of Vader's show of force, but it is out of my scope... BTW, I love Vader in that TFU clip.

Well, they had to put up at least some fight, so it wouldn't be so obvious they were tracking the Falcon ;)

But it wouldn't make sense, because he was not worried about them getting away, as they have planted a tracking device on Falcon.

Well I don't have any thought out suggestions. But aside from doing a lot re-filming,  no amount of cutting will make it OK. Still, limiting the worst of CGI will definitely make things a lot better.

I love the new colors but, the same as all of PT, it still looks too CGI and cartoonish.

I've re-cut the scene aboard DS after Falcon lands and the crew is sent to scan the ship. The scanning guy no longer arbitrarily checks the non-equipment (looks like a small fire extinguisher), and the the whole scene is now a bit faster. I have always disliked the scene. We now immediately cut from the Han and the guys to the scanning crew climbing aboard the Falcon. Also a couple of smaller audio and video cuts to speed things up.

The no arm cutting/4 sabers is believable, but as someone has mentioned, the slow motion when Obi force-pushes Grievous kind of doesn't look right. His voice is better now also. This is going to be interesting edit, but having seen some of the PT edits, I am beginning to slightly doubt that PT can be saved.

The Tarkin shot which was too short is now longer. Some frames where I deleted Tarin speaking have been further cleaned up. I also made Vader's movements during his speech about the power of the force a bit slower. I will not be touching this segment now for some time, as after viewing it like a million times, I need a break from it.

I have not yet changed the video with the new slightly longer Tarkin shot. I'll post a new video, after I do the final touches.

I agree, but I need the shot for transition purpose. If if was 1 second, that would be enough, but it is only 16 frames. I've extended it to the 30-32 frames (same length as the previous Tarkin shot). Looks much better now. Anyway, few more minor tweaks are needed for this scene.

The answer is no. That is because I don't have a specific plan, only a general idea. But I'll post my progress and the videos. You can make your own spreadsheet from that if you want.

Things are looking good with the latest clip. Audio is 100% done, video - around 75%. Still need to remove Tarkin speaking, while at the same time keep Vader in the same picture - Gimp time, frame by frame, but it shouldn't be to complicated, app. 40-50 frames to edit ;9

I love the new pics! Also love the screenshotcomparison.com  concept of  mouse-over picure change. The changes really stand out this way!

I'm currently working on the Death Star conference room scene. What I'm thinking is this: Vader says: 'I find your lack of ....', chokes him and then lets him go, without Tarkin saying anything. Vader made his point and show of power. Tarking remains quiet!

Yes, sideburns should go! :)

I just might do that in some of the scene, but I'll think about that later on...

Hehehe, I'm just saying that it doesn't bother me as some of the other stuff does. Ok, I see that the 70s comment was a big no no :D

Well I said SOME shots, not all of them. Those shots that I can remove/replace without too much trouble ;)

Just trying to minimise the 70s, not eliminate it. And BTW, Luke's hair is just fine.
