I was not done with the audio part yet, only video. I'll see what I can do to remove the torture droid sound (and potentially add a scream ;) ).
Bingo, some good ideas, but I don't know I want to explore them all. I have spent too much time on this scene already...

Please expand your comment regarding the audio. I really want to put this scene behind me, so I can move on towards finishing this edit.
My almost final attempt at removing the torture droid:
I just could not manage the correct tracking of the mask throughout the scene, so I replaced parts of it with Lea. Not perfect, but the best I can do.
I will release it with the least amount of compression, so either DVD-9 or some other newer codec with the compression set to minimum. I don't want to degrade the ANH:R with the re-encode. Larger file size in these times should not be an issue.
No, I do not plan a HD version.
I am now working on my last try at masking the torture droid. If it does't work out, than I'll probably try to recut the scene or just leave it in.
Yes, I meant the torture droid. I'll try to think of something, but the torture droid MUST go. I personally really don't like the old fashioned needle, and well everything else about it.
Just want to say, that I still hope to finish this edit, hopefully before the release of ESB:R.
If I cannot make the probe droid scene the way I'll be happy with, I'll just leave it in as it is (or re-cut is in some other way).
I have not posted here in ages, but seeing this pointless argument going on I just get the feeling that every once in a while there must a guy (or a girl) like this just pissing on everyone. In his belief in Adywan's huge ego, his attitude seems by far the worst to me. I have been following these boards for more than 5-6 years, and I have never perceived Ady as arrogant, but of course we are all different. And that is anyway your main argument kk650, YOUR view that Ady has an ego size of the New York, but since no other agrees, either your are mistaken or everyone else is (or just call us Adywan nut hugghers, and be done with it).
Take your pick, and than decide on the ego issue.

I am half way done with this myself, but I am doing it manually frame by frame and sometimes the mask tracking is not spot on, etc...
Well it was meant to show Vader having the last word and Tarkin speechless ... I do agree the scene comes off a bit week though (but tolerable IMO). Any ideas?

I don't dislike Tarkin's lines, I just want to make Vader stronger and Tarkin a bit weaker. I might post the video later.
But I do dislike the mouse droid, as you said, it's my personal dislike. The movie looks more serious without it.
Why is it strange? I hate that little droid. As for the Tarkin, he should not be giving orders to Vader, simple.
I've cut out the scene when little chirping robot when Luke and Han are walking with handcuffed Chewie on the DS. Also I cut the scene with the same robot running around the DS when Falcon is captured. It is just too annoying, especially the sound it makes.
Also, I've cut out Tarkin sayin "Terminate her, imediatelly!" Now Vader says "I told you she would never consciously betray the rebellion.", Tarking walks up to Vader and just uneasily stares at him, then cut to Falcon in hyperspace. Works nicely IMO. There are a couple of almost unnoticeable audio clicks (but I know about them) which I might correct later.

As Darth_ender said, it is not obvious that Leia's not looking right at Vader during here scared face-scene. I tried it and looks much better. No I just need to make the probe removal up to standards.
Well, I wouldn't say she looks totally unconcerned. She does look at the door as it closes with something in her mind, but yes, a bit more frightened face would work better! I'll see how using the scared Leia scene works here.
