Well, I guess now you know there will be great appreciation for such an adjustment. I wasn't sure if you were planning to alter it yet or at all, I was just trying to make a point, Thanks a lot for doing that.

There's a lesson to be learned from Star Trek: Nemesis, and that is what happens when you put the WRONG people in control, People who just don't understand what an audience wants [John Logan / Stuart Baird / Brent Spiner's ego]. There are so many interesting plots and themes explored in star trek and yet in this big screen adaptation we get a mindless action flick that recycles previous plot lines without anything new or interesting to say. Even a great actor like Patrick Stewart struggles to make this film entertaining.

This may well be the case for Clone Wars, there was talk early on about how George was starting to become more involved in production that he had planned to, I wasn't suprised by this and actually a little worried. History has dictated that the less control George has over his own project the better the outcome.

George is still the same guy he always was, It takes a lot of revisions, compromises and collaborations to transform his hack writing and stolen ideas into something interesting. without all that you have something akin to the prequel trilogy. I hope the series is good, or at least watchable, But I have my doubts. and I'm sure the network execs do as well.

The show was interesting but it's pretty much a teaser for what is to come, We have a few new plot threads set up to play out. I'm watching through it a second time and noticing a few [fairly obvious] things i hadn't noticed the first time, Like Ando bumping into Nathan on the street. I'm also wondering whether Nakamura sent Ando out because he had already accepted his fate. And what was with the vision Nathan saw?

I think it's safe to assume that Hiro will take on the guise of Kensei at some point.

I'm thinking it could be more an issue of control than one of Dollars. I mean he wants someone to sign on for 100 episodes right? What if the show doesn't draw a large enough crowd? that's a noose on the neck of a network then. Maybe this series will appear straight to DVD?

Sure they've [major networks] all made questionable moves and pulled the pin on some things they shouldn't - notably those shows that amass a large following in dvd sales. But at the end of the day running a network is running a business, and from what I've seen they generally like to toe the waters and take things slow. See whether a show is worth proceeding with. What about letting people judge a show on it's own merits and not GL's word. Whatever the situation he is arrogant as Anchorhead mentioned. They should have secured distribution/ broadcasting before going into production. Or done a short run of episodes and a sampler.

George has been in the industry for longer than a lot of us have been alive [he's more corporate machine now than man ], He can't really feign naiivity here. If they aren't keeping one particular audience / age group in mind they are digging their own hole, and it's hard to be sympathetic. The article seems kinda vague though. There are 'kiddie' channels I know of that screen more mature shows later at night when the younger kids SHOULD be in bed. I am aware that what was stated was simply a quote and not fact - They seem to be aware of what they are doing wrong and looking for anyone else to take the blame.

Family Guy to kick off season with 1 hour Star Wars spoof
Time
While i quite like the show this special falls kinda flat. There's not much point seeing it when you can just watch the film and make similar comments to your buddies. A lot of scenes were almost a straight retelling of the film with less focus on making something funny. with a source as widely known as star wars they could have really gone nuts with jokes and references. I guess as they pointed out Robot chicken beat them to the punch, and did a much better effort.

It actually would have been more entertaining if they'd grouped all the previously shown star wars clips throughout the series, except the fact that we've seen them all already i guess.

That said i did laugh hard at the cantina band and a few other lines.

In the end, it wasn't that great but i wasn't expecting great anyway so it killed some time for me.

a few select scenes actually looked much beeter than the film [read:2004 dvd] too.

Pretty good casting. I myself always pictured Bob Hoskins in the role, but this is really good casting. Broadbent will definitely portray the jolliness of Slughorn quite well.

Hmm, I never would have thought of him but I'd say perfect casting there. At least in the way I pictured the character reading the book.

DOOM (game) and STAR WARS
Time
That design doc looks very early indeed. Do you have any more of this stuff or access to? If it is authentic that is.

Before the term 'First person Shooter' [or fps] became widely used many of these types of games were labeled doom clones [post doom that is]. I think the main reason id made doom was to create something more advanced than they had with wolfenstein.

Even though it was the same style of game, Dark Forces pushed the envelope firther allowing the player to do things they couldn't in Doom. So as much of a rip off as it may have seemed i wouldn't be inclined to label it as such.

Let's not forget all the things Star Wars [the film series] has ripped off over the years shall we

Star Wars prequel film noir (* unfinished project *)
Time
hmm, 'noir wars'. I've only just got up to speed on this now. At first I wasn't too sure but it seems like a great idea. Unlike the fanedits that try to improve the existing films this could be something completely different. I've only skimmed over a lot of the comments but it seems that you guys should be able to work around just about any issues given there aren't really any constraints on the storyline.

I'd be tempted to think of it in terms of Palpy as the corupt mayor and the Jedi as Coruscant/galaxy police force. some of them are crooked and some aren't. It'd also be interesting to see anakin actually slide a little rather than simply decide to be the bad guy at the drop of the hat. It'll be interesting to see things from his POV especially during moments where he seems to do morally wrong things without even a thought. Although i guess that even in ROTS rather than justify his actions he changes the subject so things like that could carry over.

What time period would be present day? I would think it'd be more interesting being close to the actual events and have him reflecting a lot on what had happened. You could even have him thinking back from some point in rots, say just before he leaves for mustafar. The narration post this could be picked up by someoune else, say maybe Palpy?

I'll read it all over more in depth later on but it sounds good so far...

Star Wars DVD Covers
Time
I don't usually go for the fan covers with older style artwork but these are great. I also love the fact they have a consistent look. I'd seriously consider relabeling my dvds with these, Which is something I've never actually done. Nice work Falle.

Oh, I also love that Vader isn't present on the ROTS cover - that i can see anyway.

I do not know exactly what hyperspace offered/offers since I have never been a member, but I asked them to open up the archives and make their stuff available.

That sounds like a good idea, I've spent some time in there [Hyperspace] through a friends account and believe me, there is absolutely nothing in there worth paying for. The few things they actually setup specifically for paying members like the Ep3 webcam are obsolete now. And kinda pointless to begin with IMO.
