Damnit i never get in quick enough...
Damnit i never get in quick enough...
Seems like Ady may have been the only one dead set 'for' a HD release ;)
What are peoples thought on the new Metallica Album? - And by extension, Did anyone like their last album? ;)
Just had a listen to the new single - The day that never comes, Sounded okay but might not be a great choice for a first single. For a start it's approx 7 minutes long, Good luck getting much airplay at that length.

This is going to be like M*A*S*H* isn't it?...Where the tv show about a war runs for a lot longer than the actual war did...
Re: the poster, Honestly it could do with a bit of work but I love the idea you've gone for - are you cool with other people submitting poster ideas?
I just had an idea of my own - since you've got a nice close image of the Vader helmet there what would you think about showing a PT scene visible in one of the eye lenses and an OT scene in the other.
I think your "STAR WARS" title needs to be a lot clearer as as well.
Given that Reborn was a planned trilogy, Are you going to go that route, Or are you just doing ONE movie as your version? Sorry if you answered that already - I don't have time to read it all now, Just thought I'd comment on the poster. I'll check back later when I get home from work...
Just saw the film and I have to say...I'ts not as terrible as I was expecting. Yes it's a turkey, Yes it's an overly long advert for the coming flood of games, action figures, books....But I think Ultimately some people do and will take this far too seriously.
I actually didn't mind some of the things that have other fans worked up, I enjoyed the "Starship Troopers-esque" opening...It doesn't try to emulate the 'real' Star Wars movies, It says from the outset "this is something different"
I can understand why others hate it, And i myself hold it in low regard, But I don't really have any regrets in seeing it. It's certainly not for everyone. I feel obliged to mention, at least on of our numbers was in the target age group and our tickets were about 1/3 normal cost.
The thing that DOES piss me off about the Show / Film is that it totally disregards the 2d clone wars series, While HEAVILY borrowing ideas from it. 3d Clone Wars is Certainly inferior to 2d Clone Wars, At the very least in terms of storytelling...
Sorry, I meant before you saw it.
ben_danger said:does anyone know how to convert mkv format to avi? i tried a few free trial programs and they suck.:(
The only program I've been getting decent results with atm is called super, by erightsoft. It's free and fully functional, however i remember having to search around the site for a download link...
If anyone else has suggestions, I'm all ears too.
But then surely you'd be complaining that it was merely a big screen rip-off of 'the killing joke'? Honestly some people will look for any reason to complain. If you guys aren't happy with the film then just ignore it like we ALL do with 'Batman and Robin'.
For those that weren't satisfied, What sort of stuff were you expecting / hoping for in a follow up to 'Batman Begins'?
all in good time, At the very least I'll show you what's been eating up my time...
Might try post some screens during the weekend.
Do you have any current generation consoles?
my Xbox360 kicks my Computers ass at playing HD content.
I like it [the music], I like that it sounds different.
I thought you guys would be pleased since it seems to help it stand apart as a seperate film and not try to slyly fit into the existing saga.
Okay guys, What do you like most about the movie? It can be anything. - Otherwise, What do you despise the least?
I'm actually interested in this but the overblown pricetag means I wont bother. Now if there's a bit of info on each 'select' frame and maybe some anecdotes it might be a worthy flick through but if it is purely images then it feels like a bit of a cash grab...Even at 1/10 the price I'd really have trouble justifying it.
I'm sure people WILL see it as an investment and it'll sell out well enough, I guess it's one of those things that's just NOT for everyone.
Got my hands on a copy of what's labelled "the shooting script". And of course it's different to the final film. I'm gonna go thru it and see if there's anything of interest. Nothing major yet, mostly dialogue changes / omissions.
Re: data, I'd rather not see him die but his sacrifice [and journey] means little if he's simply an expendable asset.
just saw some new [as far as i know] pics. Dunno if you guys have seen these...

There's a much cheaper version of this available. It's called the internet ;)
Does this movie consider T3 as Canon? - I ask because the TV series certainly doesn't.
I'm one of the few people who enjoyed T3, But I can understand why others don't. At the very worst it should at least be interesting.
I'd say the best thing about T2 is the music - that gets me on the edge of my seat more than the visuals. Although that's looking at it from a 2008 point of view rather than early 90's.
I just don't know what to make of T4, from what's bee released. I want to try and just wait and see but it seems like a pretty different flavour to what we've seen. But then I guess the context is that they are preparing for a future [in the earlier films.] that they are actively trying to prevent / alter...So things CAN now be quite different.
Are they still planning on doing Terminator: Salvation as the 1st of a new trilogy?
Re: The TV show, It did start out kind of crap, But it has gradually gotten better throughout the short first season, I guess I'll keep watching and see where things go this coming season...
Stuntman Morgan?
From what i've heard his condition is serious but certainly not life threatening. I'm sure we'll find out more shortly.
I think ziz meant that the Scarecrow might have initially had a larger part in the film bit was trimmed back to what we say.
I've been thinking about this a little over the past weekend and trying to work out if it would work out well enough if the the scenes were re-ordered. what i was thinking was something along the lines of...
We see the paramount logo sequence in reverse [fade in from black] the stars fly away back up through the clouds and we pan up to see a starfield. We see [a new version of] the main titles appear followed by the main cast and crew credits. This plays out to the closing theme of the film - 'A new beginning' - which starts out with a slight rendition of "Blue skies" then proceeds with the main theme of both the films and the Next gen TV series.
I thought about also adding in some stars zooming by, sort of like the start of ST6. There's a nice sequence at the start of ST1 like this with no text onscreen that could be reused.
At the end of the credit Sequence the camera pans down to see the ship in stardock being repaired. - reversing the final shot of the film proper.
Then we cut to Picard explaining to B4 that he wanted him to know just what sort of man he [Data] was - Then we cut so see just what sort of man he was, An action hero. Putting his neck on the line to rescue picard.
This could be done in a way to keep things a little mysterious. I was thinking that at this point the plot could move forward from the big rescue sequence to the end battle and beyond where they toast absent friends. Along the way i'd cut in 'flashbacks' to reveal things that had happened earlier as they become important to the plot - if at all.
This is just a thought in terms of restructuring, without really considering what I would add or remove, And I would remove a lot. I'd really try to cut back on a lot of the ST2 moments. Data would not "live on" in b4, He'd just be dead.
any news on this?
Looks interesting. I like that it feels different. I'll definitely check this out.
Agreed, I mean it's obvious that he's now living and 'working' in different areas of the city. I guess the city in the first film seemed a bit more high tech what with the monorail and all.
