Making Yoda green in TPM would be a good start. He's kind of a sickly brownish green.

Olmos noted that he is directing a two-hour Galactica telefilm currently in production. The film will air on SciFi in 2009 with a DVD release scheduled shortly thereafter (much like “Razor,” which told the story of the Battlestar Pegasus). As announced by SciFi earlier this month, the film was written by series writer Jane Espenson, and is shooting in Vancouver. The cast includes Michael Trucco (Anders), Douglas and Dean Stockwell (Cavil).
Olmos introduced his wife, actress Lymari Nadal, whose small role in the 2003 Galactica miniseries will be greatly expanded in the film, which begins before the miniseries’ events. The story focuses on characters we know, including Stockwell’s Cylon, Number One; Trucco’s resistance Leader Sam Anders, and Douglas’ Chief Galen Tyrol. The Cylons’ much-vaunted plan apparently didn’t account for one reality: survivors. Amid the chaos following their attack on the Colonies, two powerful Cylon agents struggle with plots and priorities on the human ships that got away, and among the resistance fighters who were left behind.
There's nothing to say that others of his kind don't live much longer.
"Sick have I become, old and weak"
as Sluggo mention the Ot and PT yodas just don't look like the same guy.
You might get away with just trying to make the eyes more OT like...
So I sat down and decided to start work on a shot I've neglected for quite some time. Here's the easy part...
Looks decent enough. Now the hard part. Ventress leaps into the air as Dooku swings down and slices the [couch?] in half. Then a bunch of hazy smoke swirls up in front of the blade, But we can sort of still see the blade behind it. After a little playing around i decided tha the smoke is pretty think and erased the glow in these parts.
I think it looks good [and saves a LOT of messing about], What do you guys think?
I've also neatened up Dookus extremely point tipped blade once again. I only intend to do that in extreme cases and it is enough to bug me in these scenes...
Not so much a dig at the haters, but the haters who continue to chime in on something they continually state they don't care for. The haters who must squirm in their seats for 22 minutes just to find more ammunition to shoot it down.
I agree with your [C3PX] points, the clone wars movie was certainly a wrong foot to get off on for sure. I do have a slight interest in the series, In which case I'll continue to check it out. I think I'm in a vast minority here that actually likes the animation style.
I never expected the show to be the second coming of Jesus. I never expected it to be much at all, so it doesn't fail to meet any high standards for me.
Laserschwert, The colour enhancements look good overall except i find the skin tones looking a bit odd. Is this something you are planning on refining further?
I have to agree with RoccondilRinon too, I nver liked the title, I'd be happy with at least a shortened version or even something totally different. I mean, does anyone actually refer to it as "Indiana Jones and the kindom of the crystal skull" in conversation?
I wasn't sure if this movie could be improved butwith the various ideas listed it may well be.
Go easy on the lense flares, eh? ;) Looks good though.
Is it at all okay with you guys if I watch the show and decide for myself what I think?
Likewise. I spent a lot of time trying to come up with a very simple way of doing things, using basic layer styles like 'screen' and 'multiply'. For a while i had sabers looking good, but not good enough, Something that would look good live action was not emphasised enough in the cartoon with low detail backgrounds.
I was actual woring on compositing something else and thought, hang on this simple masking might be the answer i'm looking for, and it turned out to be. The upshot is that is also saves a lot of work when overlaying the existing sabers. My major concern is changing the look too much, But so far they seem to look good.
In regards to the end result, I just hope everyone keeps in mind that i'm not necessarily trying to make clone wars 'better' just 'different'. I'm not of the opinion that the show needs improving, aside from a handful of bloopers.
I also hope people find interest in what I'm sharing on the long road to completion.
Yeah, I was just showcasing my current method. I am mindful of things like that. Altho in momnets of fast paced action I'd let something like that slide.
And you should know that there is still a LOT of work to be done on this thing. Touching up the effects alone takes quite some time.
I'll try get some clips going on youtube when i can.
In the mean time i've decided to repaint the actual saber cores in some scenes rather than just redoing the coloured glows. Heres an example where you can see Count Dooku's blade come to a fairly precise point.
So here's a basic redone blade I drew - I've done the whole shot already so i know it looks fine in motion.
With the original blade masked out we have a nice clean looking blade now....
Now the reason for the black is so that when we add the nice red glow, it will look like a nice red glow ;)
without the black the red glow would be kind of faint / weak.
It took me a little while to figure that out but it's how i've done things in the last several previews...
Does this episode feature the Y-wing squadron form the series trailer? I have'nt watched it yet, I'll be seeing it soon...
Who was the first character to say "I love you" during Return of the Jedi"? 5 POINTS
Han Solo
Can't believe i didn't put 2 and 2 together. Bennet is standing talking to the Haitian about Sylar - He tells him that he's going to find Sylar's weakness, and then kill him. He's talking to his weakness - the Haitian could render sylar powerless long enough for bennet to put a bullet in his brain!
That's what I've heard too, Although we keep hearing vague references of what is to come [ie: webisodes / movies] that it might be eas to get our wires crossed...
Looks like the first half of season 4 will get it's own dvd release too. I figured they'd wait til the end. looks like it'll be seasons 4.0 and 4.5. I'd always wondered why season 2 was called 2.0 but none of the rest were titled that way...
Not really something that bothered me but on top of all that Sylar should have survived the explosion too. Wonder why we never saw him after that - I'd have thought he'd look out for his bro'. And surely want revenge for what happened to Noah.
EDIT: Of course, as soon as I "Reply with Quote" you change it and make me look like an idiot.
Oh, Sorry about that :)
What ugly aliens did actor Jack Purvis play the chief of? 3 POINTS
Ugnaut.
Hmm, How did Future Claire kill future Peter? - Peter is as Immortal, like the highlander :) Unless something happened in the missing 4 years but they certainly didn't explain it, unless I missed something.
He's died several times onscreen and ALWAYS bounced back...
EDIT: Nevermind, I'd forgot the haitian was there!
Who's got a crackpot Mohinder theory? i'm betting he's either become Mohinder the lizard for real or something akin to Uluru :)
Funny that Sylar is finally normal when the rest of the world is so messed up.
Hey I'm not upset, You didn't steal MY mantle. Cheeky Rodimus.
Take your time PaulisDead2221. Epectations are always higher for the sequel ;)
I suggest a new strategy astro - Let the smartass win ;)
skyjedi2005 said:So i watched the movie and the first 2 episodes and they are all garbage as far as i am concerned.
Typical modern Lucas, wow look at the nice computer graphics we can do. Asolutely without subtance just like Indiana Jones 4. Things just get continually worse. The star wars prequels were pretty crappy But Revenge of the Sith is worlds better than clone wars, and indiana jones IV. Even with Harrison in that movie it is still awful.
Brings up the idea to me just how lucas would get episodes 7-9 wrong if there were made. You would have the same actors and cgi and zero story and laughable script and dialogue.
The question is...Will you watch it next week?
Well it's not simply a prequel if they re-write future history so to speak. Camerons interference has already altered the fute events we saw unfold in T3. Things might change a lot further during the course of the series.
All in all I'd think a version set in the future where they fight off skynet every week would get kind of stale, I always thought the point of the story was Skynet trying to prevent John Connor from leading the resistance fighters.
I feel like the show is improving all the time even though it still does feel uneven. Hopefully the show will find its feet soon.
Last weeks episode with Cameron / Alison was probably the best one yet...But the one before that where Charlie's wife died was probably the worst one yet.
I wonder if it ever occured to them to try and motion capture a puppeteers performance, to pick up the nuances of movement.
