I didn't find AVP to be satisfying at all. Granted I didn't play it very long.

Most look at getting Heavy Rain today when I go to the shops but I just don't want to pay more than about $70 for it and last time I looked it was $109.

Anyone played it? - Recommendations?

RE: RDR, it's great so far - I haven't lost interest like i did with GTA 4. In fact i wish there were MORE side missions and distractions. The side games like Poker are a nice diversion.

The first day i went into free roam with some mates and we spent hours running arround stealing wagons and hunting wildlife - and laughing our asses off.

I still need to finish Arkham asylum and I don't think I'll ever finish WET - it's got horrible gameplay that's repetitive and peppered with quicktime events - I only got it cheap to cheack out the retro grindhouse flavour.

Re: Burnout Paradise - i feel like they lost the plot a bit - the previous one was much more fun, In paradise i just get lost and distracted, I got rid of the game before I had a chance to try the motorbike expansion. Is it just me?

SW Episode III - Reign of the Dark Side (* unfinished project *)

i think brief flashes would be a best of both worlds approach. - you could get away from the "oh his face melted by lightning" excuse, but also no need to worry about his difference of appearance.

Would the face stay like that up until Windu's death (as in, would it be the permanent change?)

that could also depend on just how dark [in terms of light levels] the entire fight winds up being.

Also it could harken back to the days of ESB when using the force required effort and focus - ie: Yoda lifting the xwing out of the swamp.

cutting down 4 PRIME Jedi can't be an easy task for an old man.

Maybe some lightening? Just alittle hint of it?

I was thinking of playing with the lights in the room, have them flicker for a second. But not sure how well that would come across.

They dont get that they f*cked up with the wrong mexican.. i mean Sith

Hah, foreshadowing...literally. I love it.

Video Games with Nostalgic value

Okay here are two games I haven't played or even thought about in years. Two games that were frustrating yet rewarding, two games with sequels [of sorts] that I never got around to checking out...

LOST
Time

I was pretty disappointed with last weeks episode - it was evident then that they were filling in tome and moving everyone into position. we've been keep in the dark in regards to a lot of characters of late.

At least the last episode was a bit of fun to go along with that.

Oh, my moods always lighten quickly, and am pretty laid back and slow to anger/annoy, but the stupid download setup for this thing managed to do the trick ;)

Yeah I hear ya, I kind of assumed that.

Still, there's no guarantee that we'll see each other with different time zomes and all that but if / when you're ready send me a request and we'll see what happens. tag = iooioiiooio - just let me know who you are when you do :)

005, Not to nag but were you going to try and get on board or are you just going to sit this one out?

Also I hear they might be opening up the BETA for a few days circa the 14th for live SILVER members - cool, if true.

and there should be new stuff - map, game modes opening up any moment now..

anyone else wanna be Halo Reach buddies?

Xhonzi - I had similar frustration until a mate commented that there was a control scheme more in line with what I was used to - called 'recon' - I've found that to be much better with my 'halo 3 fingers / muscle memory'.

And yeah it will be interesting to see how things play out. It seems they are trying hard to please both fans and those that drift off to other shooter games.

005 - yeah I'm in and so far it's been quite fun, I too get zero enjoyment from the COD games - but generally playing Halo I can have a good time, even if i'm losing. It's always good to win but I'm more for having a good time than being competititve.

At the moment there's only two maps in play but still a variety of gametypes, I haven't had hands on time with all of the new stuff yet but i can say that I'm in love with the DMR which is basically the new battle rifle. There is also a needle rifle that can be quite deadly.

RE: the class system, things seem pretty basic right now but I assume they will mix it up a bit later on, I've only played one gametype where class was decided by weapon, usually you will pick one of 4 types based on armour abilities

scout - fast running.

guard - very short term invincibility - you do leave yourself open here because you basically freeze on the spot.

airborne - jetpacks, YEAH!

stalker - active cammo

Here's my service record, i started out pretty poorly but i'm starting to level out a bit, now that i'm pressing the right buttons..

c3px, If your mood lightens, i'll probably be playing it on and off a fair bit during the weekend, gonna get the boys around and try some split screen, party up stuff.

I think today or tomorrow they are unlocking more gametypes so it should feel fresh again.

I agree that it's a hassle the way they chose to deploy the beta - they should have let us download it, or most of it at liesure leading up to the big day then just let people in when the time is right. Rather than having to leave my xbox logged into the ODST main menu for HOURS on end.

Just had a slightly bonkers idea.

What if Anakin lost his saber to Grievous at the beginning of the film and grabbed back another saber in the fight on the bridge.

And in this scene Obi-Wan retrieves the Anakin saber he will later give to Luke.

That way you could have Vader fight Obi-Wan with a red saber and still have a blue saber for Obi-wan to give to Luke at a later date.

Genius! - it also means we don't need the horrible scene later on of Kenobi just standing there while Anakin burns, and walking off with his Lightsaber.

And this way the Saber that Luke later inherits is truly the weapon of a Jedi and wasn't used to slay fellow Jedi!!! [and non Jedi]

Please at least consider this, Bobgarcia74

Last movie seen
Time

Just watched a bunch of stuff -

The Kid stays in the picture.

Not bad, it's an autobiography of Robert Evans, an american movie producer. The entire thing is kinda like a motion comic with snippets of footage - and i swear Robert Evans sounds like Marv from sin city...

5/10

Where the wild things are.

Pretty decent, well made. Had a handful of laugh out loud moments. I'd be interested to hear what younger audiences think of it.

7/10

A perfect Getaway.

I was enjoying this right up until the massive flashback / exposition scene towards the end. The story is done well enough that you'd only need a few hints at most but this all happens after a major plot reveal anyway - AND things are summed up definitely at the end. - Would have been a much stronger story without that scene i think.

6/10

Action Jackson.

I only flicked through this one for laughs, it really isn't a movie you can take seriously. And i swear that Carl Weathers was always either shirtless or finding some reason to take his shirt off.

2/10
