Felicia Day should be on every tv show.

Been watching a whole stack of Season Finales lately.

Hawaii Five 0 - Good fun, if a tad depressing...although the second season really could go in any direction, they've left it way open. and i didn't see the end coming so that's always good.

Chuck - Hardly surprised with the customary "let's set up the next season's story arc in the last 30 seconds" aproach but it looks like it might be fun. And i'm just glad they finally tied up the Volkoff plotline - i like Dalton as much as the next guy but I just wasn't enjoying that plot line especially the 2d character that Vivian became...

Battlestar Galactica - All in all I had fun, more than I though I would. It's a bit of a shame that it ended when it did - i still can't believe just how expensive the show was to make with the sheer amount of re-used or stock footage that you'd expect would cut costs.

From the final revelation I guess that Galactica 1980 isn't truly 'canon' after all but I may check it out if I find it cheap enough.

Boardwalk Empire - although I've only been half paying attention lately - it is a good show but you realy have to be in the mood for it when you sit down to watch it.

Anyone used a Holga? - I would love to get my hands on one.

I've got this friend who invests in high end cameras and in general he takes some good shots - BUT he's also the kind of guy who likes to HDR the hell out of things - pushing it way to far and defeating the purpose. And yeah, He things Orange / Teal looks pretty cool.

I've tried explaining the frustration to him - any advice?

Out of how many balls?  The ball rating system needs an upper limit.

THERE. ARE. FOUR. BALLS.

also - Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.

I've finally seen all 3. and I'd be happy to never see any of them again. They just don't really do anything for me - it's kinda like Borderlands: the movie.

Although I'll probably see the fourth if / when it comes out...

one ball.

yeah. I mean if they'd gotten to this point sooner it'd have been more interesting but then it probably would have felt rushed.

agreed re: voyager.

and re: enterprise - no that was much worse, the real kick in the nuts being that the penultimate episode [of enterprise] was pretty good and a decent farewell...i guess a similar situation - started good then floundered for a bit then started to find its stride but it was too late by then.

Looks like the next series on my to-watch list (after Twin Peaks) will be the original BSG.

I can't tell you if you'll like it but I'm having a good time so far. I'm about halfway through [Pegasus FTW] and it's fun comparing what's different, what's similar, etc..

One thing i can say is that if i'd watched it a few years back I'd probably have thought it was crap and trailed off. I have more appreciation for it now than i would have in the past. And it makes me appreciate the 2003 series even more, so there's that.

One thing I find really distracting at the moment is that they use the same music theme for just about everything. - someone is brushing their teeth - Cue dramatic theme tune!!

Oh yeah - and the dialogue - they have their own terms for units of measure but this isn't just going imperial to metric - almost all the units have similar extremely sounding words - it's really hard to follow sometimes.

aside from that the dialogue is pretty contemporary and jarring - people say things like "oh my god!" but elsewhere we are led to believe they are polythiest - little things like that.

I'm divided on whether I should watch Galactica 1980. I might for completion sake but it looks godawful - more like a M*A*S*H* spin-off than BSG series 2!

You misunderstand, when I say expensive I don't mean full price, i mean full blown ripoff.

$109 AUD - which if i did the math right would be $119.50 USD given the current converstion rates. Does that sound fair to you?

and there were things in the trailers that were obviously cut from Portal 2. And the fact that this stuff is ready so soon tells me it probably IS the cut content from the game repackaged as DLC.

For me there's definitely value in replayablility but as someone else said - replaying Portal games is like trying to do a crossword you've already solved.

I loved playing P2 but it was just too short - especially when there were so many new things to play with.

Gamestop -

okay so I've started watching the 1978 Battlestar Galactica - from the start. There are some things I like but it's pretty clear that the '03 reboot took the better elements and forged something much more interesting.

One thing that stands out though is just how bad the effects are - not merely in terms of quality but the way they are done - i mean, you can see the rods holding up the ship models and the camera often moves in a way that when composited it looks as though the ships are panning sideways - that alone is really distracting.

 3 episodes down - 21 to go.

has anyone seen Galactica 1980?

I gotta admit i've been getting bored with Chuck lately...

EVERYONE CLEAR THE THREAD!!!!

*flees*

you defile my context.

Honestly - I like Timothy Dalton as much as the next guy [or gal] but those plot lines were going nowhere. They really need to break away from those "insert evil corporate entity" story arcs and get back to being fun!

Just watched the latest Stargate Universe. This show really is getting better in leaps and bounds. The fact that there are only two more episodes really sucks. IF ONLY the show had been at this point a season ago!...
