What a scandal!

Why you find this funny is beyond me. I don’t think anyone here suggested there was a scandal. I know I certainly didn’t, I just wanted to know more because I have never used their services. Also, while looking at their homepage, I noticed they don’t exactly lay out the information openly.

😦

Anyone see this? I’m looking to see if there is any further info on it.

I don’t know the policy of Planned Parenthood regarding ultrasounds, but it sounds like they are required when having an abortion. I don’t see how this is particularly shocking, but again I don’t know. The comments on the website certainly give me pause.

I guess I was just wondering because I thought they were avid supporters of Women’s Rights and Care. I thought they offered Ultrasounds all the way around which is obviously not the case apparently.

But if I was surrounded by a country that distrusted me and looked at me sideways at the McDonald’s or tailed me while I was shopping at the mall. Or moved to the other side of the street when I passed them. Or called me racial slurs. Or if their news was constantly calling my people terrorists, or drains on society, or unMiddle-Eastern, I might start to wonder if maybe I wasn’t welcome. Maybe over time I’d start to resent and hate them. Maybe I’d meet other American refugees with similar experiences who believed more radical things than I did and I’d start listening to them.

You should have added “or if a candidate for leadership in said country talked about banning people like you from entering the country and then that candidate won the election”

There is no logical explanation that would make this a positive reason to become a terrorist.

😦

Did you read what Tyrphanax wrote?

I had a dialog with him on the matter so yes, I read what he wrote, but some of you are needlessly exagerrating things. IMO anyways.

Both of those articles link to Information Liberation as their source.

Maybe they turn to terrorism because some Americans are racist assholes to them?

So if a Syrian refugee was a racist asshole to you, you’d turn to terrorism?

A more apt analogy would be if he were to emigrate to Syria and find himself surrounded by anti-American assholes.

Indeed.

If I left my country to a vaunted land of the free where I was a minority, I wouldn’t go right to terrorism.

But if I was surrounded by a country that distrusted me and looked at me sideways at the McDonald’s or tailed me while I was shopping at the mall. And after that, who knows? Maybe it would be too much one day when I was just trying to walk home from work and someone shoved me off the sidewalk and yelled “go home, American dog” for the fifth time that week for the hundredth week in a row, I’d snap.

It would seem that you’ve changed your position some then because you said this originally.

Now you’re saying a whole country. Why would you even go to a country that disturbed you?

And The Washington Post has the same info those stories to.

20 ‘Vetted’ Refugees Who Turned to Terrorism After Being Allowed Into America

Interesting website, no info on who really runs it or owns it. A brief perusal of their anti vaccination article makes me think twice about the rest of their content.

After they fled the country?

From what I’ve read, they came here, then quietly slipped out of the country after pledging their allegiance to a terrorist organization. I know one joined the Army, got his training, then slipped out through Mexico and a few other places taking the long route back to whatever organization he pledged his life to.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/refugee-border-crossing-manitoba-1.3959558

In the past three months, Manitoba Interfaith Immigration Council staff said they have met with more than 80 applicants looking to open refugee files. The normal number for an entire year is 50 to 60.

The council opened 10 new files on Monday alone, executive director Rita Chahal said, noting that most claimants came from Djibouti, while a few are from Somalia and one is from Eritrea.

Eight walked over the border, while two others entered the country at the Niagara border crossing in Ontario and were transferred to Winnipeg because they have family there, said Ghezae Hagos, a paralegal with the council.

What kinda ass-backwards world are we living in that people are fleeing the US and seeking refugee status?

Did Rosie O’Donnell go with them? LOL

Yes let’s stop believing all the countless press institutions that have stood for generations on the principle of objective reporting and start listening to random YouTube guys instead! They’re the ones who really know what’s up.

The person whose video it was was not the point of the post. But of course, deflect if you must, the fact is these press institutions you revere bow to dollar bills. You and I do not factor in to that unless we’re watching and believing.

Why is it so difficult for some of you to use your own brains instead of letting all these news outlets feed you what you believe to be the god’s honest truth just because it caters to your emotional opinion?

Maybe frievous is right, maybe this country is going to hell in a handbasket, I’m glad I don’t count on that ride to be happy.

You should really listen to your own advice.

What matters is simply the facts. I’m sorry your side has tricked you into believing otherwise.

There is no side, we are Americans. Where did you even learn that?

Yes, we are. But your side feels the need to keep making it about “sides” even when things like decent American principles are at stake.

It is not about sides and I wish you’d stop saying “my side”.

It absolutely shouldn’t be about sides but unfortunately that’s what’s being pushed from the right.

This would indicate that the “left” is pushing it as well, correct?

It’s no secret that the country is becoming more polarized. But my point was that the right is choosing to make bipartisan issues partisan. When things like basic American principles are at stake, sides shouldn’t factor into it, and yet that’s exactly what’s happening on the right.

It is also happening on the left. If it was not, you would not have said “my side” when referring to me and what I said. The point is, both political parties are just as divided as America has become recently. I hold no loyalty to either party and maybe that is why I don’t particularly jive with most in this thread. Now, I do post opposite sides of stuff that gets posted, but it’s more due to the point that there is always 2 versions of the same story. I prefer to try and find a middle ground but it is far more difficult than holding to the “your side, my side” thought process.

Here is an interesting look at what people says is only Trump’s doing … via Congressional Hearing.

This point about banning countries he doesn’t have business dealings in is probably a bit coincidental, since his Executive order used an Obama-era list to determine the countries to ban. This list merely compiled countries with significant terrorist activity, and was forced past Obama’s desk on an omnibus spending bill by congress.
http://www.snopes.com/trump-immigration-order-obama/

The thing with Executive Orders is that they must reference specific legislation, since it is not (supposedly) in the Executive’s power to legislate. Now I would bet that if Trump didn’t have business in Saudi Arabia or the UAE, he would have found some legislation which included those countries. As it is, we can only speculate as to the why of all this.

One thing I have noticed that nobody here seems to be addressing is the understanding that a large number of these refugees that claim a nation as their home aren’t even native to that country. They were in those countries because they may have been fleeing somewhere else. The FBI did address this particular issue but it seems it’s been glossed over. They alone still have 1,000 vetting investigations on the books as of today.

It was also noted that countries people are complaining about that did not make the list may actually end up on the list once the details get sorted. Without any facts except for embellished headlines that point fingers and call names I don’t see how any of us could even say anything else for certain.

I agree. I however, find that mentality to be obstructive, and I am entitled to think that.

Website said it was still available for pickup today so I ordered it, I guess I’ll just wait and see what happens at this point. Still, a large number of people interested in the lost episodes of Doctor Who in my tiny southern town full of rednecks and the like seems unlikely to me.

Maybe your local Sasquatch are Dr. Who fans?
