Debate in this thread = Trump is a racist, serial liar, sexist, demonic, genitalia grabber

Yes. And?

and so is anyone who voted for him.

No, but they are gullible and mind-bogglingly turd-sandwichly foolish.

This is the only problem in the world that makes our world so horrible so we need to rid our world of him and everyone who voted for him.

People didn’t just vote for him against Hillary. He plowed straight on through the primaries. I mean, seriously, what the heck was wrong with Kasich? It’s unbelievable.

It’s not the only problem in the world. The problem with this world is most people don’t care about anybody but themselves, and they’re supremely bitter and angry about life. So yay, let’s vote for someone who has the cojones to tell everyone that they can go f&*@ themselves because we ourselves want to shout it from the rooftops. Yeah, great attitude for a president. I’d like to see statistics comparing his voter base to Youtube commenters.

I just find it a very close-minded thought process coming from people that say they want a better way of life for everyone. They want to see injustice, racial divide, economic divide, and what not eradicated but they don’t seem to mind supporting that behavior. Look, I get that people have a right to dislike people for whatever reason they want, but how is it helpful for those people to be hateful towards someone they say is so hateful?

We don’t live in the 50’s anymore, this isn’t the Dark Ages or the Crusades either, it’s a digital age where everyone can have a say whether anyone hears it or not. Our own political processes are outdated and hold sway only to those with enough money or power to sway it. There were other qualified candidates but they were run over by those with bigger bank accounts and neither party did anything to allow those candidates the room to participate in an equal fashion because that is not what they want. American’s are so confused because what is printed and said is paraded as the truth even though it is all contradictory and hazy.

People like you, I, and others want a better world and are willing to work with others to do it, but even we are hesitant due to the lack of facts and the abundance of “confirmation bias”.

In response to how you describe those people, I see them as people, not as targets for termination. They have families, they have friends, they have homes, jobs, and a hope for a better world. Most of them I think anyways. Why are they lower on the scale than those on the opposite side of the fence? Are they throwaway humans? Are they disposable organisms? Are they unfit to enjoy a better world because they don’t believe the same thing the other side does? I’m not a religious person but even I know that most compassionate religions don’t demand eradication on site just because they don’t agree.

This article’s making the rounds, and making Democrats nervous:

https://theintercept.com/2017/04/06/top-democrats-are-wrong-trump-supporters-were-more-motivated-by-racism-than-economic-issues/

To break with tradition around here, I’ll announce that I’m mostly in agreement with this article. You can’t hope to win if you don’t understand why you lost. Not that talking about why you lost is politically easy either, but that’s another issue.

I pretty much agree, and I think I said as much back in November. Of course, it’s a complicated issue. The racism and the economics are intertwined - people losing their jobs are blaming immigrants and people who don’t like paying taxes are blaming minorities on welfare. So I think it makes sense to talk economics and try to shift the blame to where it really lies.

The problem with facing the racism head on, as Clinton found out, is people don’t really like being called deplorable. If Dems don’t want to keep being labeled elitist, it won’t really help to criticize the populace. That’s why Warren and Sanders went at it the way they did - if the Dems have any hope in winning back the votes they lost, they can’t afford to be calling those people bigots.

Agree it’s hard to talk about head-on, but disagree about Sanders really understanding. Warren maybe. But Sanders has had this particular blind spot for the twenty-odd years I’ve been following him. It’s just the way he views the world, and it’s really not that unusual.

But again, to primarily blame racism is to ignore the fact that Hillary didn’t get the same support from minority voters, or even from women, that Obama got. She didn’t get a better turnout than Obama did or even the same; it was worse.

Racist white republicans voting for Trump, sure. But if we’re talking about swing states here: Clinton lost Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Ohio. I mean, it’s not all about white racists, or else Obama would have lost.

She also lost Wisconsin … we’ve been Democrat since 1984. Yeah she was right on for sure.

If you need to compliment or praise something... this is the place

I want to give a shout out to my adoptive parents and their neighbors. This last year or so has been a difficult time for me. My adoptive parents have been very supportive of me and have always made sure that any extra work they need done goes to me. It helps me in so many ways I can never thank them enough.

Today the neighbors across the street needed some furniture moved out for a Purple Heart donation so I went over to help make sure everything got out. They are older folks and don’t lift and move things like they used to. I ended up with $50.00 from them. I tried to return it and they wouldn’t let me. I was very touched by this gesture.

When I went back over to my parent’s house I gave them $20.00 to take themselves out to breakfast on Sunday. They are very important to me and this was the least I could do to say thank you to them.

I love you mom and dad, so very much.

Actually I missed the date so I screwed up, but it’s now hilariously relevant. I’m guessing Hannity is not going to apply the exact same standard this time.

No, he won’t. And if anyone tries to point it out, he’ll ignore it or change the subject. I’m with Jon Stewart on this: Hannity is ruining the country.

Hannity, as questionable as he is considered, is not to blame for ruining the country. This started long before he had a say in anything.

No, but he contributes to the vitriol and mixes just enough fact in with fiction to make it hard to know how to separate them. There are so many people who really don’t know any better but to take the things he and Rush say as gospel rather than with what should be a prerequisite block of salt. Such people aren’t just uninformed, they have willfully been misinformed.

Also, I’m not a liberal, but the conservative media crazies, especially Hannity and Rush, drive me up the freaking wall. And by far my biggest pet peeve ever, myself being a Christian, is for people to usurp my faith and wield it as a tool to score political points. The Republican Party does that A LOT and I really can’t stand it.

There is a misinformation war on in this country right now. I don’t follow Hannity or Rush. I do watch some of Hannity’s interviews because I’m more interested in the ones being interviewed than him. I am also not a fan of the religious/politics train.

President Trump is considering a broad shakeup of his White House that could include the replacement of White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and the departure of chief strategist Steve Bannon, aides and advisers tell us.

A top aide to Trump said he’s contemplating major changes, but that the situation is very fluid and the timing uncertain: “Things are happening, but it’s very unclear the president’s willing to pull that trigger.”

I am not surprised to see this happening. I mentioned a page or two back (or more) that Priebus may be finding his way back to Wisconsin although we don’t need him either. Trump would be smart to let these two go.

Did the deported husband vote for Trump too? If not, wouldn’t it have been fairer to have deported the wife instead?

No. he did not, lol. I’m guessing he was ineligible to vote legally but somehow legal enough to legally own his own business, legally have a social security number, and a legal driver’s license.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/undocumented-husband-indiana-trump-voter-deported-article-1.3024780

Beristain’s wife voted for President Trump in November and previously said she believed in the Republican’s immigration policies. In February, he ordered officials to be more aggressive in arresting and deporting those living in the U.S. illegally.

“I think our President is going to keep all the good people here,” she said in a March interview with WSBT. “He is not going to tear up families. I don’t think he wants to do that. He just wants to keep us safe."

Here is why this man was deported. The article says it but the op does not.

Beristain had a work permit, driver’s license, social security information, paid his taxes and was in the process of obtaining an immigrant visa, one of his attorneys, Jason Flora, told the news station. He had no criminal record.

Beristain during a family vacation in 2000 took a wrong turn to Niagara falls that put him past the Canadian border. When he tried to return to the country, officials denied him entrance and placed a deportation order on him, his 14-year-old daughter, Jasmine previously told the Daily News.

His wife was pregnant at the time, so he ignored the order. Beristain didn’t want to leave her alone, Helen said in a March interview.

Beristain’s deportation came on the same day attorneys filed a court document aimed at keeping Beristain in the country. The document claims he wasn’t given due process when he first received his deportation order in 2000. Beristain was deported before a judge had time to issue a ruling.

He wasn’t just targeted and returned for no good reason.

I wasn’t aware accidentally crossing the Canadian border, (which seems poorly marked as this seems to happen all the time) was a criminal act.

I wasn’t referring to that and you know it.

It’s 2017. They couldn’t look up all the info you posted above, and come the conclusion deporting him was of dubious value as he was in the pipeline to get a visa? Or did accidentally crossing the Canadian border 17 years ago make him a “bad hombre” by default?

He was in the VISA process because he had been in the pipeline undocumented for 17 years. I mean, how does one get a driver’s license, social security card, and such without citizen status? I’m guessing, may be going out on a limb here, that his case may mirror that woman not so long ago. The one that had fake paperwork that kept her in the country illegally. It also sounds to me, by the way the article words what ICE supposedly said to him, that this family was already aware it might happen or knew it was coming. They rolled the dice.

Hey, this responding directly to but removing Frink’s name got old instantly.

Hey, guess what, no-one cares but you.

😃

Nah, I bet the whole bandwagon posse agrees, too.

I do not care what the posse thinks. Ironic to see you show up right after to respond too.

😉

I am responding to the posted article and not Frink, that is why I do it. If you and the posse take issue with that then you need something better to occupy your time instead of complaining about something that neither matters or affects anyone negatively.

It turned rainbow. I don’t like the whole, “I did something with a specific color so that means I’m contributing!” mindset anyway.

This. I don’t understand the “paint everything pink” fixation for breast cancer awareness. “Yay! The NFL is wearing pink…!? Umm… why?”

It would seem a better use of funds to donate to cancer research than to paint everything pink for a month. Awareness, yes, but wearing pink NFL uniforms doesn’t do squat.

This is a Trump maneuver … pink uniforms gets ratings, ratings brings in money from others, then they donate others money to the cause claiming it is their donation.

😉
