WikiLeaks Reveals The “Snowden Stopper”: CIA Tool To Track Whistleblowers.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-04-28/wikileaks-reveals-snowden-stopper-cia-tool-track-whistleblowers

As the latest installment of it’s ‘Vault 7’ series, WikiLeaks has just dropped a user manual describing a CIA project known as ‘Scribbles’ (a.k.a. the “Snowden Stopper”), a piece of software purportedly designed to allow the embedding of ‘web beacon’ tags into documents “likely to be stolen.” The web beacon tags are apparently able to collect information about an end user of a document and relay that information back to the beacon’s creator without being detected.

Word to CIA … CIA’s new first rule of stopping the next Manning/Snowden should be - don’t leave CIA document tracking software on suspected source’s computer.

The only suggestion that Trump can’t evolve is opinion. He will endure. At the rate things are moving, Bernie Sanders will build the Third Party that many Americans want, sending the neocons after him instead. It is the DNC that has proved that they either can’t or are unwilling to evolve and the party and all it’s supporters are paying the price for it as we speak.

I’m deliberately going back to it. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but it’s like some sort of compulsion. I “forgot” my phone all day at work today, and when I came home, I ran to it and ran to this particularly nasty new one that bothers the most yet. Something must be wrong with me 😦. I was barely able to get out of bed this morning.

There is obviously something you like about the nastiness that compels you to have it. Maybe an exorcist could help?

Wow. When you try to be lighthearted and funny, you manage to be even creepier, and I mean a LOT creepier, than when you’re perseverating about your paranoid delusions of persecution.

Creepy knows creepy I guess. I cannot help it if the limit of your sense of humor doesn’t go beyond anything you say is humorous. At least you’ve got company around here in that department.

My iPhone joyously flagged another of Matt Dillahunty’s anti-Catholic rants for me. How nice of it to keep feeding my monster. Fuck you and the fucking wifi you rode in on. Fuck my life.

I had a rare decent day at work and all I can think about is my OCD shit. Fuck you, brain. No medicine will ever restore my faith or erase my memories. I’m tired of this. I just want to go to sleep and not dread waking up every morning.

May I ask why it flags these things and isn’t there any way you can remove this flag so that it does not show these?

Because I actively look for them because it’s part of my incomprehensible onsession. I wish I knew WHY I kept looking at things that upset me, but I do. And this one was fucking nasty. So, naturally, I went back to it. Several times.

Well, maybe we can figure out a way to help you steer clear of these somehow. Remember, I talked about focus and how difficult it might be, but necessary. This is one instance where it would be invaluable to you. Making a point not to look up these subjects will help keep them from being flagged in your browser for you. Please try. It will get easier as you go but if you don’t make the effort it will always come back to haunt you. I support you and believe in you.

You can do it.

😃

And here’s the transcript.

TRUMP: No I have, it’s interesting, I have, seem to get very high ratings. I definitely. You know Chris Wallace had 9.2 million people, it’s the highest in the history of the show. I have all the ratings for all those morning shows. When I go, they go double, triple. Chris Wallace, look back during the Army-Navy football game, I did his show that morning.

AP: I remember, right.

TRUMP: It had 9.2 million people. It’s the highest they’ve ever had. On any, on air, (CBS “Face the Nation” host John) Dickerson had 5.2 million people. It’s the highest for “Face the Nation” or as I call it, “Deface the Nation.” It’s the highest for “Deface the Nation” since the World Trade Center. Since the World Trade Center came down. It’s a tremendous advantage.

I read the article and the transcript. Trump is not slamming 9/11, quite the opposite, he is showing that more people are interested in the crap reporting than they were with 9/11. And sadly, he is correct to say that it has bee a benefit to him. In fact, it helped get him elected, and they still can’t stop complaining instead of fixing what they did wrong to get him there.

There is NO possible way that Trump would intentionally claim that “crap reporting” helps him. He has continually derided criticism of him as being the crap reporting. Rather, clearly he is bragging about how wonderful it is that his ratings are higher than 9-11. As if the families of the victims of 9-11 were overjoyed at how high their ratings were. It’s similar to his referring to the Purple Heart with “congratulations” and “tremendous”… just in bad taste.

Presuming these are all examples of unintentional faux-pas, then it just shows how crass, un-thoughtful, and un-presidential he is.

Trump did not cheat Bernie Sanders, Trump did not have the answers given to him in advance of the Town Hall, Trump did not enlist the Russians to hack the election, and Trump did not keep Top Secret documents on an non-encrypted server at his home. If you think the fake media did not help get him elected that is your choice but I believe his comment was directed at the media, not to bolster his ego, by comparing himself to 9/11 coverage.

This is even more of an illogical non-sequitur than the post I responded to - both internally illogical and unrelated to what I said. I honestly wouldn’t even know how to begin to reply. Dang, this is why I promised myself to no-longer respond to your posts. Bad puggo! I guess I have to periodically be reminded.

Apparently you neglected the part where I said what you believe is your choice. What I believe is then mine. So, what makes your opinion right and mine wrong? Or can you not answer that because others agree with you?

I’m curious to know.

I hope they catch holy hell for that.

Check the date on the article. There was a small media dustup about a month ago, and nothing.

Meanwhile in North Carolina, HB330 just passed the House, which protects you from civil suits if you run over protesters with your car. Veto expected, but how the crap can a majority of any collection of human beings vote for this?

I put the date in the post for a reason. I wasn’t trying to hide anything.

News story to knock your socks off.

https://www.wired.com/2017/04/130000-year-old-mastodon-threatens-upend-human-history/

In 1993, construction workers building a new freeway in San Diego made a fantastic discovery. A backhoe operator scraped up a fossil, and scientists soon unearthed a full collection of bones, teeth, and tusks from a mastodon. It was a valuable find: hordes of fossils, impeccably preserved. The last of the mastodons—a slightly smaller cousin of the woolly mammoth—died out some 11,000 years ago.

But the dig site turned out to be even more revelatory—and now, with a paper in the journal Nature—controversial. See, this site wasn’t just catnip for the paleontologists, the diggers who study all fossils. It soon had archaeologists swooping in to study a number of stone tools scattered around the bones, evidence of human activity. After years of debate over the dating technology used on the mastodon, a group of researchers now believes that they can date it and the human tools to 130,000 years ago—more than 100,000 years earlier than the earliest humans are supposed to have made it to North America.

The researchers expect a bit of controversy from a discovery that pushes back the arrival of humans in North America by a factor of ten. Nature itself put together this video featuring a leading British critic of the paper. Still, lead author Steven Holen, co-director of the Center for American Paleolithic Research is confident that his colleagues have done their homework. “I was skeptical myself,” he says. “But it’s definitely an archaeological site.”

This discovery—and the inevitable pushback it will face—center on the power and peril of dating technology. After more than two decades, researchers were finally able to nail down the mastodon’s age with a more advanced kind of chemical dating. But the paper also reveals the limits of that technology in solving ancient archaeological puzzles. Tech can tell you how old things are, but now how they got there or who used them.

THIS is fucked up. 😦

https://www.wired.com/2017/03/feds-rather-drop-child-porn-case-give-exploit/

Time of Publication: 9:00 am.

The Department of Justice filed a motion in Washington State federal court on Friday to dismiss its indictment against a child porn site. It wasn’t for lack of evidence; it was because the FBI didn’t want to disclose details of a hacking tool to the defense as part of discovery. Evidence in United States v. Jay Michaud hinged at least in part on information federal investigators had gathered by exploiting a vulnerability in the Tor anonymity network.

“Because the government remains unwilling to disclose certain discovery related to the FBI’s deployment of a ‘Network Investigative Technique’ (‘NIT’) as part of its investigation into the Playpen child pornography site, the government has no choice but to seek dismissal of the indictment,” federal prosecutor Annette Hayes wrote in the court filing on Friday. She noted that the DoJ’s work to resist disclosing the NIT was part of “an effort to balance the many competing interests that are at play when sensitive law enforcement technology becomes the subject of a request for criminal discovery.”

In other words, the feds are letting an alleged child pornographer free so that officials can potentially catch other dark-web using criminals in the future.
