The PBnJ line is funny, but the line before it is just awful. It’s lyrically lazy, you can’t rhyme a word with itself, that’s like the number 1 rule of rapping.

Is it technologically feasible to create a “public” MySpleen account? Post the username and password somewhere on this site, and whenever someone wants to download something they can log in and use it?

I’ve only ever seen them in TCW, but I agree. The whole “witches” and “magic potions” thing feels out of place in the SW universe, IMO. I suppose it’s just the force, I just take issue with the way it’s presented.

I don’t want them reusing footage or using cgi for Episode IX. This is all obviously dependent on how things play out in VIII (and whether or not they simply make changes to that movie as well), but what I would want them to do is to take a page from how Leonard Nimoy’s death was addressed in Star Trek Beyond. Early in Episode IX, have a scene where a group of characters return from a battle. It was a victory, but General Organa was killed leading the Resistance.

An idea someone posted in the comments at birthmoviesdeath that I actually loved:

“(at some point) cut to a memorial statue or plaque, and we dolly out to reveal a person (Finn? Poe? Rey?) paying their respects as they pass by before joining a meeting or on their way to a ship or something.
They could even touch it and say “for luck” before moving on.”

I really like both of those ideas. That way they could give her the heroic death she deserves but not have to kill her on screen (since that may be considered in poor taste).

La La Land is not good. Actually it’s bad. It’s going to win a bunch of Oscars because it has Ryan Gosling in it, and Ryan Gosling is a handsome man who is understood to choose good roles in ambitious awards-y movies, and then to not make many facial expressions in those movies, in a style of acting that we are meant to understand is “understated,” for which you’re then meant to signal your appreciation as a way of indicating refined appreciation for refined things. He dances and sings in La La Land—not well, mind you, but you’re supposed to think that’s actually what’s good about it, because it’s vulnerable or relatable or whatever. Actually it’s just crappy!

Have not seen it so can’t agree or disagree. However I do think this Drive take is silly.

In Drive, Ryan Gosling drives around a bunch, and wears driving gloves like a weirdo. These are fine behaviors for the protagonist of an unexceptional cheeseball B-movie—which is what Drive is—but because Ryan Gosling does no actual acting in Drive, but rather spends the entire time making an Easter Island statue face, you are supposed to understand that his performance is restrained, and therefore suggestive of hidden depths of meaning, and therefore that this dumb action movie in which Ryan Gosling drives around wearing driving gloves is Art. No way, dammit! No goddamn way!

I totally disagree with that. I really like Drive. Gosling is meant to be a creepy unemotional weirdo, and to say he doesn’t act is absurd. He isn’t totally emotionless, either, he very clearly cares for Irene and Benicio. And Drive is in no way a “dumb action movie”, there’s hardly any action at all.

Up to episode 3 of series 3 and still undecided about this anthology. It is well made, thought provoking, and for the most part entertaining; but I am rarely satisfied with the conclusions. I guess that may be deliberate in some cases, but others seem like ideas only partly fleshed out. Then again it could just be me, programmed by Hollywood to expect a happy ending or a story that goes full circle.

I’ve only seen 2 episodes so far; but of the ones I’ve seen, I think the endings were supposed to be unsatisfying or even depressing.

Black Mirror. I’ve only seen Episode 1 and 3 of Season 3 so far, but I’m loving it.

That’s pretty weird, I don’t recall it being anything that could warrant being deleted. It was posted on Nov 10th, so it was probably just something about the election.

You can only download 5GB of something, then you have to wait 4 hours before you can continue with your download. Makes downloading large files incredibly annoying, since the majority of your time is wasted on a stupid cooldown. The idea is that you can pay to up that 5GB limit to something like 1TB.

I disagree. I think with this much at risk, it totally makes sense for him to take things into his own hands. There’s never a time in the OT where this much is at stake. Regarding the Tantive; the Rebels were already caught, there was nowhere they could go.

Nothing suggests to me he’d go apeshit either, Vader has always been a character on the verge of outward rage, but acts on it in a very collected manner.

I don’t think Vader was as rage-filled as you make it seem like he was. He was quick, efficient and brutal sure, but he was never Kylo Ren level angry.

Sorry man, MEGA is the only place I know of that it can be downloaded from, that’s what I linked OP to. I feel your pain, though, that 5GB download limit is painful. It’s a stupid idea, and if anything that limit has ensured that I’ll never pay for their services.
