Weird probably impossible idea, could C-3PO replace both TC-14 and JarJar in the Phantom Menace?
3PO belongs to the trade federation and greets Qui-Gon and Obi on the ship in the beginning (re colored and redubbed with an Anthony Daniels soundalike or Daniels’ voice clips from cartoons/radio dramas etc.)
Then he somehow accidentally stumbles onto one of the federation drop ships and winds up on the surface, saved by Qui-Gon instead of JarJar (would have to rotoscope out JarJar frame by frame and composite in new footage of an actor in 3PO costume). He accompanies them from then on, and his meet cute with R2 is moved earlier to the scene when Padme is cleaning R2 (3PO again replacing JarJar)

I too had been tossing this idea around in my head for a while, not really as a fan-edit idea, but more of a “I wish Lucas had done this.” I don’t know if this is possible, but I’ll be damned if it shouldn’t be attempted.

Eh, it’s not winning, it’s all just taking one news institution’s word over another for no other reason than they cater to your personal political views. Both sides are guilty and buy right into the line that they’re being sold.
As a result, media becomes more and more politically polarized because real objective news journalism doesn’t sell like sensationalized attack “news,” and as a result of that, our political parties become more and more polarized, no compromises are reached (why would you compromise with someone who is obviously wrong and an idiot, after all), and America suffers.
Nobody “wins” in this equation, except for the people making money off of the people who blindly follow the narrative they offer on their “news outlet.” Until news stops being a business focused around driving clicks so they can sell ad space, this decline will continue. Unfortunately, that’s up to the people to not blindly buy what they’re being sold, and since people don’t like to think for themselves, who knows when things will change.
I understand your argument, but I believe the right is going to come out as the victor in this polarized environment. They control all three branches of the federal government now, so they are in control of how our lives will be run in the next four years.
Click on any youtube video critical about institutional racism or sexism, and it will have a ton of dislikes automatically.
Those dislikes aren’t automatically generated, they’re earned.
That’s only because the public is hostile to any challenges to the status quo.

He most certainly was a reality tv star and is most certainly unqualified for the Presidency.
I don’t think that being a reality TV star is automatically a bad thing that deserves to be on a list of problems with him. And who determines what “qualified” is? Technically, he is qualified to be president;
No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States.
If that’s not the definition of qualified that we’re using, then it comes down to opinion and the conversation doesn’t go anywhere.

If there is one silver lining to Trump’s win, it’s that we don’t have to deal with another 4 to 8 years of ferris posting about Hillary Clinton.

Anyone who assigns blame for Trump to a single factor, regardless of the factor chosen, isn’t paying attention or is trolling. She won the popular vote by a large margin and lost the three critical electoral vote states by a margin of approx. 100,000 raw votes. The blame, in no particular order, lies with
- Hillary
- People who voted for Trump (simplified into four groups below)
– Racists, sexists, and xenophobes
– Good people who believed a metric ton of lies covering a ton of different subjects
– People who hated Hillary so badly that they pretended Trump wasn’t worse
– People who blindly voted “R”
