24 bit FLAC it is!
Okay, I am starting to do some serious recording now. I am doing it in 24 bit WAV format, making huge files and capturing every nuance.
Here's a question for anyone interested:
When I make the recordings available, should they be 24 bit WAV, 16 bit WAV, or FLAC?
Okay, here's a new sample. It is the exact same file as the first sample, with the DAK DePopper software applied. It has many customizable settings. After tinkering for a while and many test runs, I think I have the best settings now. Please download the sample and let me know what you think:

After some more tinkering and any adjustments if necessary, I'll be ready to get this going at full steam.
Thanks for your input.
Indeed. I am testing different settings on the software now. I have reduced the needle noise quite a bit, and the overall dynamics have not been altered. I'll provide a new sample soon.
I want to take my time on this, so I'll only be providing samples until I am satisfied with the end result.
Do you have any idea on how to defeat the noise?
I received the new preamp mixer today and here is a sample:

It is a raw track, with no software or effects or anything added. I'm still trying to see what I can do about background noise.
Any input would be grand.
Still haven't found any sign of yellow subtitles. All my sources so far have been white.
Wow.
I have Windows 7 64 bit and I'd like to think I know my way around in it. But, to be honest, I don't do much in the video department, other than simple things like ConvertXtoDVD. I'd love to learn Sony Vegas someday and can get it, but that's for another discussion.
I wouldn't know how to reset things, other than a simple reboot and select "Run Windows Normally", but I imagine you have already tried this?
If I think of anything, I'll let you know, and good luck!
My apologies, focuspuller.
It'll be ready when it's ready. I'm keeping the faith. :)
Oh.
I never said anything about being entitled to shit, nor am I "demanding" a fucking thing. I merely posted that I am starting to disbelieve and a sample would be nice.
Yeah, I was speaking in terms of having subs that were triggered instead of "burned in" or "hardcoded", and not with letterboxed video.
I fully agree with them being in picture, as they were in the theater.
Well, no offense intended, but these images are very small, that's why I asked if better ones were going to be included.
Looks great. I'm sure the high resolution versions will be available with the music, correct?
I hate to say it, but I think I am joining the growing ranks of skeptics and non-believers here.
Is it possible that we could get at least one high quality sample?
Post removed.
hairy_hen, you have PM.
Wow to the WOW.
You guys are the bee's knees with all the hard work!
Would it be possible to toggle the subs between "in the screen" and in the black bar?
But, that would require the viewer to press the subs button every time they pop in the discs. Not ideal I suppose.
I'd have to say that if I had the choice, I would want them in the black bar. Problem is, where would the subs be located on a (perish the thought) 4:3 TV? A projector set at a different AR?
Hmmm....
Maybe just put them in the viewing area and be done with it, as it was seen in the theater. Wow, I just talked myself out of my original thought, LOL.
Heh heh, that's great!
And the "holy shit I almost had a friggin' heart attack" award goes to....
:)
Okay! I await the release!

THIS... is why Morrison isn't, and never will be, better than Wingreen.
(Amongst others, but it's obvious this film stands out)
Ady, did you already finish the full Vader-Luke fight at the end?
(Just curious)
I just see a red X. :/
I can definitely relate. I've been there since 1977, and wow what a time it was. No home video, no Internet, just going to see the film whenever we could, blasting the soundtrack on the hi-fi, waiting on the action figures to arrive in the mail....
It was a simpler time.
Zoinks! I sure hope the final NTSC product, whether it's DL or SL, is salvageable!
