thanks for your replies
dark jedi

IMO they both suck, but if I have to pick, I'd say Tron. Wargames is the classic of the 80s cheese movies...

Or he could wait until his IP lease expired and then reboot, or use a product like GhostSurf, or use an anonymous proxy server, or any other way around banning. Depends on how much work one wants to do.

The IP ban could be done in a more broad fashion, meaning Jay could ban the range in the first two octets, of course that would ban anyone else in that range.

Shhhhhh. Not so loud.

He could theoretically ban by MAC address with the right software. He'd only need one shot at his IP (assuming he's not using dynamic addressing, which makes the release command moot at the level of the last octet if someone else grabs his previous one).

How does this sort of thing get "policed"? Does Jay read the alleged offender's posts and make a determination? Or does it depend who's reporting it? Just curious...

Also, there's well over a thousand registered forum users, but God knows how many lurkers. This shouldn't surprise anyone.

Tarrifs are used to protect the jobs/markets of the IMPORTING country. That's the way a true free market economy is supposed to work. Unfortunately our politicians "fast tracked" us into a never ending web of "Free Trade" agreements that do nothing but favor our competitiors and ship our jobs overseas. I'm all for free trade, provided it's a level playing field, and that it's TRUE free trade.

In the short term the Euro will lose ground. The Dutch voted "no" today, I believe. The economic news in the US is good right now...GDP is up, manufacturing orders are up, inflation is under control.

The US Dollar and BPS are in trouble against the Euro eventually, that's why the US Govt is going to push CAFTA, which is really a move to create an EC type economic sphere between Canada and Mexico (God help us) to compete with the EU, eventually pushing us into a regional government modeled after the EU.

Didn't realize that the cinematographer(sp?) was the guy who did The Matrix movies. He said in the "making of" on the dvd that he wanted to do something that didn't rely on green screen. Seems to be pretty much what everyone who worked on it said.

Enjoy it while you can before they start taxing currency exchanges. The ultimate tool to drive everyone to a single currency...

And, a few more "no" votes and the Euro may be in the toilet and would probably push the US $ and BPS up, no?

Taking the kids to see Ep III tonight. They really enjoy the OT, however my son is still a little too young to “get it”. My daughter is crazy about it. For me, this is like closing the door on a piece of my history, but opening a new one for them. I have mixed emotions about the whole thing. On the one hand, I’m thrilled that they’ll actually get to see a first run SW movie on the big screen. On the other, I wonder what shape the whole saga will be in when they’re old enough to REALLY appreciate it. Bittersweet, to be sure.

Col. Mustard: Wadsworth, am I right in thinking that there is nobody else in this house?
Wadsworth: No.
Col. Mustard: Then there is someone else in this house?
Wadsworth: No, sorry, I said "no" meaning "yes."
Col. Mustard: "No" meaning "yes"? Look, I want a straight answer, is there someone else or isn't there, yes or no?
Wadsworth: Um, no.
Col. Mustard: No, there is, or no, there isn't?
Wadsworth: Yes.

That movie's good for the babe value alone...that maid was HOT!!

Anyone ever play "Video Clue"? It came out around 89-90. There was vcr tape you played and the game centered around events in the movie. That was cool, too.

Used to play Monopoly by the week. I remember I had a 6 consecutive-day game going with a friend of mine during spring break during high school once. It ended in controversy!!

I also used to play a lot of Trivia Pursuit: Genus Edition (I think Hawking would be clueless with some of those questions!!), Scrabble, and chess. Won my school chess championship one year, then kind of lost interest. Trying to get back into playing in tourneys again.

What're you're favs?
