Yeah I had read about this- I'll be sure to pick it up to help, albeit in a small way, their cause. Sad but I'm glad the creators came together like that.

While back on comics, who'd like to step up and give me a brief history of just what the heck Marvel is doing right now. I don't mean story-wise but more what's going on with their various 'imprints'...

I get what DC is doing:
Regular continuity titles.
'All-Star' titles (outside continuity tales)
The usual Elseworlds, Vertigo, Wildstorm, etc (same as they've been for awhile)

But with Marvel I'm not exactly as clear. IS there a 'REAL' Marvel continuity any more?
I see:
Ultimate titles (alternate continuity I guess, do they all have to 'match' ie do all the Ultimate titles follow same cont.?)
Max titles (adult oriented titles?)
Marvel Knights (???)
House of M 'titles'? (all one big What If? story? Regular cont.?)

anything else I've missed?

Wish I could help. I'm a Marvel neophyte, myself. I'm waiting for the House of M TPBs to come out so I can get caught up. I have a feeling that they're going to start cleaning house soon and getting their act together. Gut feeling.

Very little of it may be based out of the Word of God, but most simply just a bunch of empty rituals, do's and don'ts, and attempts to reach God through works and things that make you feel either good or crooked.

There is a selfishness involved to where authority is manifested in the flesh. People put themselves on a pedestal and pretend to be perfect, or brag and banter about how much they know about theology based on other books other than the Word of God, or worse, taking God's Word out of context to try to make themselves right. All of these things are mans failures, and not to mention.... driving those away who are lost and in need of a true love in the name of Christ, and not in the name of religion.

All in all, the simplicity of Christ's love is lost in what man has made it through religion.

1 Corinthians 29: That no flesh should glory in his presence. 30: But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

How many out there proclaim that THEY have something to offer... So many glorify themselves, especially in the name of religion. Those who proclaim only Christ in HIS glory... That is what we all need wether you agree or not. Christianity is about what Christ has done for every single one of us, not what man has raped Christ to be today misleading those who need Him most. As a Christian it is so frustrating to see.

Knowing Christ died for your sinful nature, defeated death and rose again on the third day and is now preparing us a Kingdom, and putting your complete faith in all that He is.... that is what it means to be a Christian. There is a price for rejection, but it is paid for with acceptance. It is a choice we all have. In Christ!

Dark Kingdom looks interesting, but then I tell myself we're talking about the network that cancelled MST3K and thinks cheesy CGI is always a substitute for good story. I'm wary, but I'll watch.

One more reason why the Greencapt RULES! (way off topic I know)

"Joel: Okay, everybody got their Christmas essays ready? (Random affirmative responses.) Okay, well who wants to go first?

Crow: Ooh, oh oh oh oh oh ooh.

Joel: Who wants to...(to Tom) you want to go first?, (to Gypsy) you want to go first?... oh Crow, you wanna go first buddy?

Crow: Uh...oh, okay...ehem...um...uh...yeah..."A Christmas Oratorio--... oh wait...uh... "A Christmas Editorial" by Crow T Robot. (Clears throat repeatedly.)

Tom: Oh would you just get on with it, for crying out loud!

Crow: Sorry, I was...alright...uh, okay... "A Christmas Editorial" by Crow T. Robot...uh, I know, I already said that...okay...What's the big deal with Santa's elves anyway? What happens to all those dumb, wooden...um trains and horses and cars? No ever...kid gets 'em! Um...These are the kind of toys grandma drags out at Christmas to decorate the house...which smells like her feet no matter how much essence of yuletide lightbulb ring oil she uses...but I digress...um...uh uh...No, these are the real misfit toys. They end up in Marshal Field's window displays and FAO Schwarz catalogs or overpriced little gift shops in Vermont and Door County, Wisconsin. My message is for the elves: Gentlemen, what is the problem? Why don't we ever see you in front of a circuit board loading microchips into a Segavision with your little wooden hammers? Elf labor short? The good people at Macao are eager to take your prototypes and turn them into a hundred thousand knockoffs! Elves and Santa: Take an example from the Keeblers, now there's some fairies who know how to market! In closing, uh...step out of the legend days, fellas, and join the century of the Pacific. Oh, and Merry Christmas. The End.

Joel: Yay!! Good job, Crow...Okay, who's next? Tom?

Tom: Uh, my turn.. Uh, okay. Thank you, Mr. Doe. Uh, okay, my essay is entitled "A Child's Christmas in Space" Uh, let me set the mood here--Agedda-agedda-agedda! (Shakes up his head which happens to be a snow globe for this episode). There...It's quiet in the cold of our own little orbit, starless and bible black. And as I look down on the big blue beam we would call home I think it so near, yet... oh, I wish on that star and I hope that in a little snow-covered house with a warm hearth and a loving family, maybe some kid is looking up tonight and wishing upon us. Oh, and how I hope sweet Santa will fly by tonight because if he does I'm gonna reach right out and hug that big guy. Oh, for the sound of hooves against the steel hull of the ship. Oh, to see the rosy face of Santa in the portal offering me a Coke and a smile... (gradually gets more and more upset and hysterical) ...of course, his cheeks would be rosy because there's a vacuum out there, I mean Santa's heart would explode! But he wouldn't feel it because the capillaries in his brain would pop like little firecrackers (Joel begins to try to calm him down) due to the blood boiling away in his face like pudding in a copper...OH THE HUMANITY!! (Now both Joel and Crow are trying to calm him down.) And his jolly old belly would start bubbling like a roasted marshmallow, eyes bulging and popping out... AND THE REINDEER--OH THE REINDEER!!!--keep floating like holiday floats and in turn exploding in a hail of blood and entrails! Prancer: BOOM! Dancer: BOOM!

Joel: HEY!

Crow: Tom!

Joel: Tom take it easy, Santa's gonna be okay, buddy.

Tom: You sure?

Joel: Yeah, give him a little credit, okay?

Tom: Phew, what a relief!"

Glad it worked out. You may want to check out the

Wine.com site, as it has a pretty good Wine 101 section, including information on food pairings.

My wife doesn't really care for wine except for Arbor Mist Pinot Grigio, Tropical Fruits flavor. I just don't get it.

However, some of the newer meds to help you train your body to get the sleep it needs without the need for long-term use. Ambien in particular helped get my wife back into her natural sleep cycle after only a couple of weeks.

Healthy sleep habits promote a more positive outlook and greater interpersonability (is that even a word?) so it's always good for you and everybody around you. If you're having sleep probs you probably have something (or a lot of somethings) on your mind. Finding a good outlet for dumping your stress is important for the long term (routine excercise like jogging or gym work, and/or what I call "routine exorcise," like writing poetry or prose or model building or *ahem* editing), and perhaps a M.D. can help you in the short term.

Howdy.

I've been on anti-depressants for a while. Actually, I've spoken to my doc recently and I'm going for a "sleep study" on March 5th. One of my problems is I believe I'm suffering from sleep apnea. I do need more exercise, as my weight is playing a role in it, I believe. Could stand to lose 25-30lbs.

I'm wary of "sleep aids" because I've had a problem with meds of that type in the past....although I have heard good things about ambien. All I know is I'm deeply tired in the afternoons lately. Not good.

Thanks for the JLD pics, HSVIJ. I have a thing for her. I don't know what it is. I know there are a lot of other really hot brunettes out there, but man she just does something to me. She looks totally hot in the Seinfeld dvd extras.

from what i can find about Cilantro online its:
Cilantro's taste is a fragrant mix of parsley and citrus culinarycafe.com
Cilantro has a distinctive green, waxy flavor mccormick.com

so that prob wont add much spice to it, so the big spice is the garlic the shrimp are sauteed in

When in doubt, go with Merlot. It matches well with seafood, chicken, and Italian. Pretty much covering your bases. I like Turning Leaf, but also Valdevieso (Chilean).

Last weekend we got 2 feet of snow on Sunday. I was outside clearing the driveway, hadn't eaten almost all day. Came in and cracked a bottle of Burgundy I bought the day before. First French wine, really looked forward to it. The cork had a lush, deep purple color to it. Well, I drank and promptly became very sick. I think it was a combo of being outside for a long time, and also not eating. I was pissed because I was looking forward to it so much.

I havent made this dish before, so ill give some info from the receipe and hopefully that will help suggest what type of wine might go good with it.

basically its a shrimp pasta. The shrimp are sauteed in garlic and the sauce is made up of tomatoes, chicken broth, cilantro and light cream.

so my guess is its gonna be a light sauce, may get some red coloring from the tomatoes.

thanks in advance for the help,

-Darth Simon

Maybe a Shiraz? Not sure. That's a tough one. If it's going to be spicy I'd go with a shiraz. If a lot of red sauce, Chianti...preferably Carlo Rossi (jug wine with a screw top cap). Very good. Also Ruffino Chianti is fantastic.

That's another issue. Re: Open Source. The "movement" has it's share of greed as well considering Sun's been sitting on Java for 12 years now.

I'm currently dual-booting WinXP Home and Red Hat 8. I've got a mammoth book on how to use RH that came highly recommended. It's just a matter of time to sit down and learn it.
