I believe it started with some articles that were done in '76, maybe '77 as well in publications like Rolling Stone I think it was, also it might have been mentioned in screenplays of Star Wars A New Hope that have been released in bookstores subsquently. Also the Return of the Jedi novelization has Obi-Wan make mention of something of it, of some lava or volcano, in the same part of the book where Obi-Wan tells Luke Uncle Owen is his brother.

In all seriousness these are some huge SPOILERS









Now whether you choose to believe me is your own free will. But I tell you by everything I hold holy, I do not lie. Theforce.net had a spoiler report, a huge one, that was up in the morning I would say about a week ago. Sadly, I was unable to save it not *knowing* they would take it down. It talked about the planet Obi-Wan would be on, Utapa(or Upata, not sure) I think was how it was spelled, and that he would fight General Grevious. What was supposed to be just an encounter between the two to possibly end a good part of the Clone Wars I presume, was more important. They said it had an important effect on the story. And the biggest one of all. Yoda and Darth Sidious will fight each other. Sidious has a red lightsaber and I am betting, though the report didn't say this, that perhaps this "awesome display of darkside power" that Sidious will show in the movie might be in part here.


On a sidenote, for those fans that feel there is too little character development in the prequals, in one of my Star Wars Insiders and I think the Just the Facts section of theforce.net they have a quote attributed to Rick that says we will learn a bit more about Sidious/Palptine/Emperor's origins. The sidenote was not part of the big spoiler I told you that preceded this. May the Force be with You.

Well some of us, "The truths we cling to depend greatly upon our own point of view." Now by the way, we are talking about fixing the Emperor's monkey head, the new Jabba, but anything else new. Runs over to Digital Bits thinking of Conan making fun of the tape on my glasses.



EDIT: I see now. I read that on the offical site and thought nothing of it, but when I read it on the Bits it finally dawned on me that they said "today" instead of saying that Special Editions are the final versions or something. Very cool and disappointing at the same time.

I know that will eventually happen just because of this site and fan complaints alone, but I do agree with the opinion, why make us wait? With all due respect Mr. Lucas, be a little more like the Matrix movies and give me a choice. I want both, but I should be able to choose when and how I want to watch either of your visions of the adventures of Luke, Han, Leia, Chewie, Vader, etc...

Good question Bossk. If Grevious had not been in Clone Wars, then I would have said its probably not a spoiler. But with Grevious, not to mention it does technically come after the last thing you wanted to see before 3, AOTC, I would say it is a medium level spoiler. High level spoiler being something like they posted on theforce.net a few days ago and then was inexplicably taken down.
