STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

Was all excited to see that but the link in the quote above leads to an error page now.

DERP...sorry. Found the fixed one. I really liked the motion blur on the AT-ATs as well. It's subtle in a way that makes it look like how I imagine very expensive modern stop-motion would be like. Extremely fluid but still very much real models.

So that and the weapons on Hoth actually being used are good ideas IMO. The rest don't do much for me. Perfectly fine as they are.

Just saw it on FB too. Was really an awesome thing to see that Adywan was putting this project aside and devoting all he could to his dad because family is far more important. Wouldn't blame him if he just wants to take a long break from this to gather himself up and decide what to do from then.

Sincere condolences to him and his family.

Was really lame to read about the problem Ady had with that guy. People are so damn strange sometimes, especially to people they communicate with but have never met. Been a rather sparse and inconsistant poster but almost daily reader of this thread and this just struck me as so much more mean-spirited than anything I've read before here. Never knew such things went on in the PM underbelly of OT.

I've sent a small donation I hope helps. The taken back donation is just lame as hell. Whether he meant to overdraft the account or not it happened only out of him trying to get Adys attention and then even after learning of the fee assessed to Ady (knowing the crap he's going through) he didn't even try to help. A sad, sad person.

On topic tho, I really wanna see the 3-D zoom effect you mentioned. Is it similar to that Cloud City vane shot I saw on FB a while back?

I too think multiple languages should be put into ESB:R. I personally have no use for them as I speak English but I know a few people that would benefit from it. even five or so subtitle tracks take up negligable space on a DVD or BD-9 and wouldn't compromise quality in any significant way and greatly expands the audience that can enjoy it.

That really looks epic. If even the slightest motion could somehow be added in the clouds or even just a few changing lights on cloud city it'd surely be a memorable shot, however brief.

Any chance you could link to the highest res version of that mock-up by itself?

^the coloring and brightness always bugged me with the Cloud City SE CG shots. Don't get me wrong, I don't think they are all that terrible either but did it not occur to one single person that worked on those shots what they actually should have looked like, maybe just throw in a suggestion?

That shot in the trailer kinda bothered me too but it might have been over analyzed by me cuz it's when I got bored and started going slo-mo through the trailer that I took the most notice. The static grain (which I'm sure might be fixed anyhow) mixed with being a little bit too in focus like was said. With a slight blur, sun position aside, it puts the emphasis right back on the soldiers and becomes a lot more natural and subtle when blurred just a bit. I even left the room for a bit and came back and looked and the bottom just seemed more natural right off the bat.

^I second that indeed. I love to death the little camera shake added to it (or maybe it was there and I didn't really notice it) and the glow behind Bespin. Perfectly and very professionally done.

Is anyone working on a shot for shot comparison trailer? That would be the perfect thing to show someone that hasn't been following and might not notice or appreciate Adywan's extensive work.

Oh...well that makes sense. (the email address part)

Definitely not out of line, everyone can agree it's not a contest. I'd just feel most comfortable making a donation I can afford somewhat relative to the total $ Ady needs (if he wants to give out that info)

Goddamnit I can't wait for this.

THE OT SOUNDTRACKS SALVAGE - SWESBROTJ -"remastered"(so far)+ LP's (Released)
Time

It took a while but I've finally given each disc a solid listen. I pretty much have to agree with everyone else in the thread. These remasters are simply excellent. They've re-ignited my passion for these soundtracks I haven't had in years. The overall depth and staging in many of the cues has been greatly increased and sounds much more lively. Highs and lows are very well balanced. Tape noise and hiss (ANH particularily) are hardly intrusive and add a natural warmness to the recordings, never sounding too processed and sharp like later editions. I also love being able to hear a chair shuffle ever so softly during the very low key parts because it adds a very "front row" feel. ESB has always been my favorite and The Battle In The Snow one of my favorite actions cues of all time. It just sounds a lot more alive now with a wider, deeper sound (and none of the hiss I remember from the SE versions) that couldn't be any closer to sitting in the room.

I didn't do much in the way of comparative listening between the versions I have (or had, since these pretty much are my standard now). Like I said, my re-awakening to these soundtracks might be altering how different they seem to sound to my ears but if these versions can make me feel like I used to when I first starting listening to them, then that's the best I can say about them.

Bravo.

no, there will be no subtitles for the R2 translation. You'll all have to figure out what R2 is saying on the readout for yourselves. lol

Good news. Suddenly having subs show up just once for R2 dialogue would be odd.

Did you make up R2's dialogue yourself or is there a different source you got it from like a shooting script or something? I imagine someone was probably sitting outside the cockpit reading some lines so Mark would have something to react to...or maybe not.
