Thanks MoveAlong, I already tried that and it's way too much of a fiddle.

As it happens, I've had to re-encode after correcting some spelling mistakes.

After 7 hours of rendering remotely from my macbook, my wife put the 'remote' mac to sleep; the connection was lost and the render failed. Now starting again. I WILL get this thing finished.

Yeah, it seems complicated at first but you can soon get your head around it. I sat down a few years ago and just persisted. If you can get those result with paint, you will be awesome in Photoshop!

Please note: There is no longer a "rare footage sequence" in the extras. So please remove it from your cover designs.

I would be grateful if you could email any complete cover/disc art to jambe.davdar at google's email service.

My QC man got back to me yesterday (very quick!) and I have made all the corrections. I am now exporting the timeline and will soon be transcoding it to Mpeg-2 and burning. I have four dual layer discs left which are all spoken for. If you want a copy you will have to send me a DL DVD. If you email me at the above address or PM me with your email address I will reply with my postal details.

Thanks

Info: //The Risk Business & Temps X\:
Time

My next project will hopefully be a quick one.

Whilst it’s not very good quality (it’s actually pretty poor), I think this is an important piece of Star Wars history and should be preserved.

’The Risk Business’ is an episode of the BBC Money Programme from 1980. It is presented by Michael Rodd of ‘Screen Test’ and ‘Tomorrows World’. In it we see Michael visit the Elstree set of ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ and talk to a number of the key cast and crew, including Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Anthony Daniels, Gary Kurtz and Irvin Kershner. The documentary discusses the risk involved in making a film on such a large scale.

We see the Echo Base set in some detail with shots of Michael walking atop the Falcon and down the ice corridors. (I wish I’d had this when I was making ‘Building Empire’).

As this piece is only 13 minutes in length I will also be including an episode of Bold">‘Temps X’ (broadcast onTF1 09/14/1980, one time only) a french documentary, in which, once again, they visit the Elstree set (of L’Empire contre-attaque). As it’s in french I am hoping to get it translated and subbed by a teacher friend of mine. However, if you are fluent, I would be grateful for any offers of help.

To finish this disc off and as a little bonus I will also try to include ‘Walter Kronkite’s visit to ILM’ during ‘TESB’ era. Again, it’s another short piece but worthy of being included.

I also need somebody to color correct all of this footage as it is taken from a VHS copy from some years ago and needs some attention. Again, any offers would be welcome.

And don’t worry, I will make sure I am completely finished on ‘RTJ’ first!

Jambe Davdar, you mentioned the QC discs being dual layered, are there any plans for a single layer DVD-R? I don't have the ability to burn a dual layered DVD-R, I can only do single layer.

I've have been talking about this to other members on the last few pages of this thread. Some have concerns that the release would be SL and compromise on quality. Others are worried that they won't be able to make DL copies.

What I am going to do is release a DL version to the key players and if any of you want to use DVDshrink or DVD2one, you can do so.

Thanks

This morning at 10am I posted my final version of 'RTJ' to my top QC guy (you know who you are), who was a great help on 'BE'. I really need a set of fresh eyes to look at it after nearly a year of working on it (on and off).

Sorry to the rest of you but I couldn't afford to make several copies of the dual layer disc for QC.

As soon as he's got back to me with any suggestions or corrections I will be burning the final disc and hopefully someone could help me make it available for torrenting and posting on the newsgroup.

Thanks

Info Wanted: Question about 1980 uncut Empire
Time
Interesting find.

I too have emailed the seller to ask for some more photos.

It's so easy to fake something like this. Print a script on some pre-faded paper. Use a number of different biros to copy autographs. Put a stain on the back...

One thing that does concern me is the line "FROM THE NOVEL BY GEORGE LUCAS".

This isn't something I've seen on any other Star Wars script. And as we all know, GL didn't write the novel. The novel was written my Donald F Glut and was based on the final shooting script. Perhaps the script did say this, but it just jumped out at me as wrong. Having said that there is another script claiming to be the fourth draft - here that also has the NOVEL line on it.

I could never justify paying $2000 unless I purchased it directly out of the hands of Gary Kurtz or another crew member.

I wil be keeping an eye on these, and perhaps contact the eventual winners. If there are any.

Thanks for the complement, but it really does P me off when people sell my work. If i charged 5 quid for half of the number of copies out there, I would have brought in 12500 pounds. But I didn't because, quite simply it's not right. This is a moral choice and one which, as members of this forum and the wider community, we have made a committment to.
